Can Knott's be done in a couple hours?

Well, we're officially heading to California next March for about a week. We're spending 4.5 days at Disneyland and are thinking of using that .5 remaining on the fifth day (which would be Wednesday the 14th) to visit Knott's before heading to our next Hotel near Universal City.

 

As best as I can see, Knott's closes at 6PM in March, although their website doesn't have hours posted for next year. We'd be able to get there as early as 3 PM, however we also would like to stop and eat at that famous Chicken restaurant first (or after, if it is open after park close).

 

As we've never been to Knott's, we'd really like to credit whore the place out in the 3 or so hours we'll have there. Is it possible or am I trying to fit too much in to one day?

If you plan it right, you will easily get every credit done and will probably have some time to spare and ride some other rides. Hit Ghostrider first because it will probably be the longest line in the park (as usual). The lines won't be horrible since you are going on a weekday. Hit Silver Bullet next and then make your way over to Timberline Twister (kiddie credit), Montezuma's Revenge, and Jaguar. After those, hit Xcelerator and Boomerang and you will be done with KBF. You will probably be able to hit every coaster in the park in three hours. If you have extra time, defenitly hit Supreme Scream and Perilous Plunge. Hope you have fun and maybe I'll just randomly show up at DLR when you're there.

Don't wory about hitting every ride. This summer me and my friend hit everythig twice in 4 hours.Brent hit it on the nail ,but If you are going to be there all day, in the morning(10:00am) you can ride Xcelerator 10 times in a row without getting out of the train.

Of course, judging from Robb's TR's from last year everything might be closed in mid-Marcch.

 

 

Anywho, I think I've figured out a way to get a couple extra hours there. We're switching around hotels and staying in Anaheim the entire time now, I think, so we'd be able to hit Knott's in a morning at opening and stay through lunch or later.

 

It's nice that everyone in Southern California is in school this week.

I did Knott's on a Sunday in April and I was able to do all the coasters with several re-rides on most of them. I was able to do a lot of the flats and other attractions. I was done by 5 pm. I think as long as you don't go on a Saturday, you can do Knott's in a few hours.

^ Good to hear. It looks like we'll be visiting Knott's on a Friday (Mar 16) now, and stay at least through lunch at Mrs. Knott's. That afternoon we plan to run by the Santa Monica Pier as well.

Solace is usually the second Saturday of March. A lot of out-of-towners make a weekend out of it, sp it gets kinda busy.

The second Saturday in March 2007 is the 10th, so it looks like we're okay.

 

I'd be very upset if my wife or myself was squashed by a fat ACEr sitting on us.

Most rides are open during March due to Solace, so you should be good at least for all the coasters ... but then again .. lines for Chicken Dinner can get long ... I recomend a lunch visit .. we hit it in September with no wait and during Solace Friday with no wait as well.

 

But then again, you can always use some time from DLR and venture down the 5 to the 91 to Beach for a few hours as well.

I don't know about that....I'm not exactly wishing to drive through Compton again (I did that drive several years ago).

 

We're not really beach people. I enjoy the views but not so much spending time on one (unless it comes with white sand and clear water). We'll have our beach fill when we visit Santa Monica.

 

On the other hand, any beach must be nicer than Galveston's.
