Cedar Point or Islands of Adventure?

It really all depends on what you're looking for in an amusement park. If you want coaster thrills, hit the point. If you want enough theming to leave you in another world, go on down to Florida...

Now we're talking about possibly flying out to SoCal for SFMM. I'd be afraid all the rides would be closed.

I've only been to "CP" and loved the 2 days spent there, i'm from the UK so going to Cedar Point was heaven for me.

 

I have not been to IOA but it does look an amazing park with great themeing. I will have to visit this park before I get 2 old.

Both of those themeparks will be better for you than SFMM. You never know with six flags, but IOA is usually a safe bet, and Cedar Point is usually pretty good about not having too many rides closed. They will also not be presenting you with 1-train operations, which you might get with Six Flags.
