  1. What an awesome update. I read through it all in one go. (took me about two hours, but still) Ah man... Gotta miss the Midwest Trip... Tomi "Glad I had my moobs covered in the dive to atlantis shot" Zandshtein.

  3. New comic posted! I decided to post one midwest comic and one non-midwest comic for the sake of balance. And No, I'm not gonna explaint he 2nd one, sorry, it'll jsut tkae away from it's charm.
  4. Did you know that the Toboggan at Little Amerrika is the portotype, and therefore is the only one of it's kind that isn't mobile?
  5. Is it just me or does the blackpool log flume have an uphill section followed by a lift hill?
  6. Yay!!!! Your TR ain't dead! I knew the midwest DVD will spark it with life again! Great photos! I lvoe thse extra dynamic looking ones! Keep it up! Almost done!
  7. ^^^^ ^ Don't worry, it's a good thing you're not "just a mess" like me it was funny seeing that caption combined with the footage of me trying to get my nametag on right. heheh, the IB video was defiantely the awsomest!
  8. I have been to many other parks but IB has become m favourite
  9. Personally I like the sakiness of the avalanche vid because it showes the crazy rattling of that ride
  10. ^Yeah, for some reason I missed the "Topic Reply Notification" about the DVD thread int he forum so I jsut assumed nobody got it yet.
  11. How can you determine that before seeing the DVD? He probably has already watched the DVD since he was on the Midwest trip. Oh! I didn't realize most of the midwest packages already got to their destinations. I'm still waiting for rmine.
  12. ^Naw, he's talking about my little animation at the end. My bad, I forgot that to get it you had to talk to either Freddie or Max during the trip... D'oh. Ah well. Hopefully It'll be better next year.
  13. How can you determine that before seeing the DVD?
  14. Oh, my goodness. That was so freaking awesome!!! I LOVED it! This has completely made my day. I must watch again!
  15. Bruno Luncetti's Expedition Geforce ------------------------------------------ [Review of first bit because the video stopped playing in the middle and now it's loading] NOTE: this review ended up a ltitle harsher than i intended, please take all of this as constructive critisism and keep in mind that overall i think this is a good video. Hmm... Well, right off the bat this starts off looking(and sounding) like a commercial video you'd find on the park's website(it's like any second now the white text is going to start listing ride statistics) and not as an exciting andrenaline pumping coaster , while the footage is good, and I understand why you might not want to start off the video with a fast paced shot when the music is still slow, you have pretty much the exact same shot of the train cresting the lift hill's top repeat over and over again from practically the same angle. [Finishes watching] Alright, my opinion hasn't really changed. On the plus side, the quality of the shots is fantastic and it is rare to see footage that shows airtime well even offride. Plus, this video has high marketability, because like I said, this si something I would expect to see on a park's official website. On the other hand, aside for what I said earlier about this looking too commercialy aznd not coaster-video-y enough, it also seemed like you were getting a little too excited with all the different effects your video editor can do, because every shot had a different effect, including several shots that had an old movie effect, which makes no sense considering geforce should be shown as a modern sleek thrill machine. Kevin Gillian's opening segment ------------------------------------ WOW!!! That was REALLY exciting and really fun and funny! do you know the guy that makes voices for movie promos or something?! I LOVED the preview segment, it was a great build up... Which is exactly why it was so disappointing and anti climatic to have like maybe 4-5 shots after the "preview" part and then have it end when I thought it was jsut abotu to start. I understand that htis is probably just an opening segment for a DVD or something(which I want now), in which case it probably works perfectly, but as a standalone video in a contest it just created too much build up for an anticlimatic ending. Also I think it wouldve been ebtter if you lef the background sounds on the last several shots of POVs. screams, wind and rattles would've done that bit good. but overall a fantastic video and got me interested in whatever this is an opening segment of! Nicolas Chavance's parc asterix -------------------------------------------------- First though: hmmm... too much french. no idea what everyone's saying. Really good video, great footage, great editing, good choice of song, only things that bothered me are the fact that there was too much french considering this is an english website, the fact that there were about a million text baloons popping up(youd think that as a cartoonsit i might like that but maybe its because they were in french so they basically just distracted me), and the fact that in most of your shots the people looked underwhelmed and bored. but these three problems were not very significant and I really enjoyed this video. Chris Charles Port Aventura ----------------------------------------- Wow! Defiantely one of the more interesting videos of the trip in the sense that not only d idI not know Spain celebrates halloween, I was also surprised by how big of a deal it is in that park! It was also very funny and cool listening to "This is halloween" in its spanish version. However it wasnt very sutiable for those more thrilling coaster-esque shots. Which bring me tot he next point - there werea hrdly any shots of the park, almsot all the shots were of the halloween parade or halloween related stuff. but overall a very fun interesting video
  16. Hey, before I review the vids I just want to point out that I had nothing to do with Dave's video except the ending scene. All other credit goes to Dave.
  17. Yup. Magor sandstorms are common in the middle east. It's always interesting to wake up in the morning, look out the window,a nd realize the entire world is yellow.
  18. Awesome TR! Scary that while youre downplaying these I'm actually thinking "hmm... maybe I should drive across the border? Those parks are better than what we got here...." Oh, many of the pictures dont show
  19. Whoa! A coaster next to a world wonder? Sweet! Probably alot of GP who get that room thinks thats a lame view but I would LOVE to have that kind of hotel view.
  20. Hmmm... on one hand I hate that they are taking it out because that was one of the best placed and prettiest shoot the cute rides. And from what I remember it was very fun. Glad I rode it. On the other hand I think that a spinning coaster would in fact be a better ride. Especially if done right. But on the 3rd hand.... the thing about them running it only on busy days or whent he canyon blaster is closed is kinda lame. The rim runner was a constantly operaitng ride, no?
  21. ^You're right. I was generalizing too, I apologise. However, what you said also supports my point about Iraq so I hope people don't rule it out just 'cus it's Iraq.
  22. ^Alright. I understand and repsect that you would feel that way. However, I would like to make it very clear that from a logical standpoint, even if you ignore the fact that iraqis have no reason to attack Dubai, which is expected to be very important to the arab countires' economy and liesure, 1,000 miles is still way way way more than a safe distance to be from all that mess. Tomi "lives less than 100 miles from where missiles are launched and even less than that from where they land, and actually lives in a place safer than most US cities" Zandshtein. (this is the same scale as the pic you got)
  23. I'm starting to find several of these comments offensive. Israel can be considered a war zone, but fact is there are parks here that are built in safe places and have been operating just fine for a long time. Therefore, not EVERY place in a city/country that's been named a war zone is, in fact, dangerous. It could be that the area the park is supposed to be built in is one of the safer saner areas. I'd imagine the people who planned this park didn't just pick a random spot and say "We'll build it there!" As for the comment about Dubai - Dubai isn't even CLOSE to a war zone. In fact, it is doing things that are against the rules of many islamic countries. So watch your generalities please.
  24. On one hand, I share opinions with many of you about this thing. It looks crazy, stupid, and alot of other sutff. On the other hand, being from the middle east I know how global media can often make places look different than they actually are. It could be that Bhagdad, much like the gaza strip or Israel, is SHOWN as being a hellhole all over, but is really only bad at certain areas. For example, the center of the Gaza strip and basically any place in Israel that's far from the borders are a whole lot better and saner, so I wouldnt jump to conclusions just because the name Bhagdad was dropped. It really depends on if the area the aprk will be built in is as bad as what the media shows bhagdad to be like, and how well tthe area will be secured.
