I am thinking that maybe foreign manufacturers should stay out of China to avoid putting this technology into the hands of Chinese people. You can bet that soon, a Flash or Blue Fire clone from Golden Horse or another Chinese company will open someplace. Lewa blew it with Sky Swirl. They had the real deal and pissed it away.

Lewa Adventure (July 16, 2017) I finally went to Lewa Adventure today. This park is odd. Scream Valley Train is a loopscrew and people who are more than five feet, seven inches tall are not permitted to ride it. This has me rethinking China entering the foreign market. If their rides can't hold westerners, then Chinese companies should not send their representatives to trade shows in western countries to sell rides. The rest of the park is very nice. There is a rocket ships style ride that I was happy to ride. Flash is a great coaster and is the star of the park. There is hang time in during the loop and a few spots of good airtime. Dinosaur's Spine is easily the worst Golden Horse SLC I have ridden. It is too rough. Crazy Mining Cart is okay. Motor Rider is fun. I hope to see more of these from Golden Horse, although seeing the real thing like Jinjiang in Shanghai has would be better. The reports of the boomerang copy being removed are not true. It is still there and is still on the 2017 park map. It seems it hasn't carried people in a while. I finished my day having ridden 5 out of the eight coasters here. The kiddie coaster and boomerang were closed and they say I am too tall for the loopscrew. I have now visited 547 parks and I have ridden 1079 coasters. I finally made it to Lewa Adventure! Chinese parks love this style of carousel. Crazy Mining Cart was my first ride today. Dinosaur's Spine was my second ride. That is an odd name for a coaster. This was needs to be melted down. Here is the knock off boomerang. Rumors of its removal have been greatly exaggerated. It is no longer operating. This is what a knock off of a Vekoma train looks like. This is the ride I came here for. That is a big loop! Here is another view of Flash. That god awful Chinese POS is blocking part of it. This is the second inversion on Flash. Here is one more bit of Flash porn for you. Yet another Chinese knock off.... Lewa's Soot the Chutes is big. This ride adds a nice classic touch to Lewa Adventure. Scream Valley Train requires that riders be 5 feet, seven inches tall or less to ride. This is screwed up big time! Here is Lewa's kiddie coaster. Horse Roller Coaster was the final coaster I would ride today.

July 15, 2017: West Happy Park and Wuquanshan Park in Lanzhou, Gansu, China West Happy Park This park is located in the west of Lanzhou. It is 20 years old and is showing its age. They have a loopscrew here which is "closed for inspection". This means it is no longer in service. Many rides here are out of service. I rode a powered dragon coaster, jungle mouse and a knockoff Troika and left. This park needs cleaned up and the loopscrew needs fixed. Wuquanshan Park This park is located in the south of the city center. It is at the foot of a mountain. It has some basic rides and one is a spinning yacht coaster. I rode this, walked around to take photos and then I left. Both parks were fun. Wuquanshan is not about rides and only has about a dozen rides. West Happy Park is a full scale park. If the owners would fix up West Happy Park, this could be a very nice place to visit. I just arrived in Lanzhou and my first stop is West Happy Park. This is the first ride I saw. It has not operated in some time. I love this view. This would be my first ride for the day. They love these in China. Here is my onride shot. This is not the real deal, but it would be my second ride here. Up next was this mouse coaster. This mouse is a little different from many of the other mouse coasters I get to ride. It is rusting away, but it still operates. It is a fun ride. The loopscrew at West Happy Park is SBNO. My next coaster stop was Wuquanshan Park. This is just inside the entrance. The park has an odd looking carousel. A haunted house walk through is here. This is what I came to Wuquanshan for. Is is Chinese spinning coaster with an oval layout. This will closeout the TR.

July 8, 2017: Sun Park, Weinan, Shaanxi, China Sun Park is in the city of Weinan. It has an area of amusement park rides that includes a loopscrew. The loopscrew is named Roller Coaster and it became coaster #1070 for me to ride. It seemed the track was warped in several places (it is actually designed like this) and it was not smooth when going through the corkscrew element. The park is forgettable, but has easy access from the train station. It is a five minute bus ride away from the train station. There is a large Ferris Wheel here and a pavilion with two large pools. This is a nice park, but only worth the trip if you have extra time on your hands. Sun Park became park #541 for me to visit. I have arrived at Sun Park this morning. I love how the Ferris Wheel towers above the gate. There are several rides here. Here is the carousel shot for this park. An area with swimming pools is covered by a roof. The exterior of ever haunted house in China seems different. A big loopscrew is here. It is similar to many other coasters. Here is the first loop. This is where the ride starts to become painful. OTSRs....just as I thought.... This photo will close out the TR.

July 9, 2017: Weibin Park in Xianyang, Shaanxi, China Weibin park is located in the city of Xianyang, very near to Xian in Shaanxi province. It is located along a river here. A very nice bridge spans the river, but it is a bit of a walk away from the actual park. This park is a very clean park with the usual amusement rides that are so commonly found in parks all over China. There is a spinning coaster here. It became coaster #1071 for me to ride and Weibin Park became park #542 for me to visit. This is a nice park to visit if you are in the area. Today's adventure has taken me to Weibin Park. This is just inside the gate. This is a colorful place. This bridge crosses the river that flows by Weibin park. There are rides here. This Wave Swinger has not opened yet. It may have replaced an older model. Another day....another spinner.... Every other park in China has one of these things. This will finish the TR.

July 2, 2017: Xian World Expo Park/Weiyanghu/Xian Chanba National Wetland Park Xian World Expo Park: This would be my first park of the day. Some type of expo was held here a couple of years ago. There is a lake, multi story pagoda type building and two areas of rides here. There is a coaster (#1068 for me to ride). It is a Golden Horse type spinning coaster. I am not sure if Golden Horse actually made it or not. I found this park recently. Weiyanghu: This park is in the northern part of Xian. It is an older park. There are rides all around a large lake. It is a gated park. It used to have three coasters. The last coaster, a wave shuttle, appears to have been removed in the last several months. This is a tired old funland and it would not surprise me if it doesn't close in the next five years. I could see high rises built around this lake. With rides being removed and not replaced, that is not a good sign, still, I noticed this park was much busier than the other parks I visited today. There were no lines, but many people were walking around. Xian Chanba National Wetland Park: This park is basically swampland a couple of miles east of Weiyanghu. They put a gate around it and charge 60 RMB to enter. This place is only a year or two old and has a lot of nice paths to walk. There is a small area of rides here. A mouse coaster with a completely different layout is here. Despite being a bit short, it is action packed and gives a nice little ride. I also discovered this park and this coaster before ACE or RCDB. I have discovered 376 coasters before ACE or RCDB. The mouse coaster here become my 1069th coaster and Chanba Wetland become park #540 for me to visit. It was a great day. I got to see two of the newest parks in Xian and one of the oldest parks here as well. I am going to Xian World Expo park today. This is a nice place. There are rides here. A lot of parks in this city have a giant Ferris Wheel. Another day...another spinning coaster... I see and ride a lot of these. It would be come coaster #1068 for me to ride. A short metro ride and then taxi ride took me to Weiyanghu. There is one of these old walk through haunted houses. Every park has one, but they manage to make the outside of the buildings look different at each park. This park, like the others in Xian, has a large Ferris Wheel. A short taxi ride away is Xian Chanba National Wetland Park. aaaannnnddddd...we have another large Ferris Wheel. A roller coaster is here. It is a mouse coaster. It has a different layout than other mouse coasters I have ridden. It was built a year or two ago. It is a fun little ride. This will finish the TR.

July 1, 2017: I would visit four parks (two on each side of the river that flows through Linfen in Shanxi , China today. Before I tell you about the parks, I have to tell you about the city. Linfen has the reputation of being "The Most Polluted City On Earth". What I actually visited today was a very green city with a clear blue sky. The parks were most clean, Binhe Amusement Park is a gem of a park. The city buses and taxis are also clean. The buildings are clean. I didn't see a single gas mask or oxygen tank. I was hoping to see Hell on Earth and instead, I got to see one of the cleanest cities I have ever visited. I was crushed. I must now face the world much wiser. Binhe Amusement Park: This is the nicest park in terms of ride selection in Linfen. There are two coasters here. a loopscrew and a mouse coaster. I rode the loopscrew, but for some reason, they did not let me on the mouse. I couldn't understand why. This park is one of the nicest parks I have ever visited. The rides are kept up nicely. Childrens Beach: This park is located a short walk north of Binhe and is a separate park. It has some basic rides for kids. Peoples Park: This park is a tired old park. There is a zoo here and a rusty log flume that has been SBNO for like 100 years or so. No other rides still stand here. Fenhe Park: This park has a lot of nice scenery and an area of defunct rides that appear to have closed somewhat recently. There is a small coaster here. I enjoyed my time in Linfen today. The city is nothing like the media suggests. It is a pleasant place to visit. I have now ridden 1067 coaasters, visited 537 parks and found 376 coasters before ACE or RCDB has found them. This is my first park in Linfen. It is Binhe Amusement Park. I like the entrance. Notice how much "pollution" you see... This exotic drop ride is just inside the gate. A nice carousel is here. a walk through haunted house is here. A jungle mouse is here. For some reason, it was not carrying passengers today. Binhe's Ferris Wheel is nice. A Chinese loopscrew called 3 Ring Roller Coaster is here. Look at that blue sky among all of the so called pollution. It was built a few years ago. I like these. Made in China... I enjoyed my ride on it. A little walk to the north of Binhe is Childrens Beach. It is a separate park. There are just a few basic rides here. Across the river is Linfen Peoples Park. There were rides here at one time. Only an old rusty flume remains. It is SBNO. You can see this flume has not operated in many years. Fenhe park is just to the south of Peoples Park. It has some nice scenery. There are some rides here, but they are all SBNO. One is a small coaster. It is very small. It doesn't look like it has been closed for too long. This will finish the TR.

June 24, 2017: Xingqinggong, Changle Park and Geming Park in Xian, Shaanxi, China Xingqinggong: This would be the first park I would visit today. It is a nice place, but some of the rides are run down. There is a spinning coaster here (#1063 for me). It is similar to the Golden Horse spinning coasters, but Golden Horse did not make this one. It was very slow and felt like it was falling apart. At more than $4 USD per ride, it was also expensive. Changle Park: This park has a small collection of rides, including coaster that RCDB calls a "mite mouse". I like these. I do not see them as often as other Chinese coasters. This could be a beautiful park, but the lake is dirty. Geming Park: This was my third park today. I almost decided to wait to visit, but I am glad, I went to it today. It was my favorite park of the day. There is a custom designed powered coaster here that is one of the best powered coasters I have ridden. There is another "mite mouse" coaster here too. It was slightly different than the other coasters of this type. I liked both of coasters here. One ride I saw at Geming that was a bit odd was a kiddie ride that resembled a top spin with a small Ferris wheel on each end. I had a great time today and met many friendly people here in Xian. I have now ridden 1066 different coasters and I have visited 531 different parks. I am in Xian and I am about to visit my first park. It is called Xingqinggong. There are a lot of trees here. A large Ferris wheel is here. This Top Spin ride is here. It is not like the ones that keep ejecting rides during the ride. a spinning mouse coaster is here. It has OTSRs. A short walk down the street led me to Changle Park. The lake at Changle park needs to be cleaned up. I love this style of bridge. Here is Changle Park's carousel. A"mite mouse" coaster serves as Changle park's scream machine. I wish these were more common in China. These seem to more common in northern China than in southern China. A short subway ride later and I was at Geming park. This view is right inside the gate. Asians love large Ferris wheels. This is a Top Spin ride for kids with a Ferris wheel on each end. Geming park also has a "mite mouse" coaster. This one is a little bit different compared to the other coasters of this style. This is my favorite "mite mouse" coaster of the dozen or so that I have ridden. This will finish the TR.

Gyeongju World 2018 Attractions
The Angry Darren Mullins replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That is a very good point. It all depends on the contract they signed with the park, What if Golden Horse does build a dive machine, but they do not make it look exactly like a B&M? Would this still be allowed? It would seem that the right to build roller coasters would be in the public domain, but the technology each company uses would not be. -

The Angry Darren Mullins replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Golden Horse did build the shoot the chutes ride for Gyeongju World. With this ride being announced by the park and no western manufacturer talking about this ride, plus the fact that Golden Horse built the water ride, I think this is a good indication that this new coaster may be Golden Horse. -

The Angry Darren Mullins replied to Garet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know many people have said China would never copy B&M, but I think differently. I think Golden Horse will build the Alpine Coaster at Gyeongju World. Could this be the designer of the new Gyeongju World Dive Coaster? -
The rides in the city parks as well as the theme parks often receive subsidies from the government. City parks are built to entertain the locals and fund are set aside for rides. Theme parks in China are often built to make real estate more valuable. About 80% of the parks here do not make a profit. They are simply built to attract people to buy land and invest in the area near the park.

June 10, 2017: Heyuan Childrens Park (Heyuan, Guangdong, China) I went to the Heyuan Childrens Park today. It is located in the northern part of the Heyuan city center. This park opened only a year or two ago. It is very clean and nice. One thing that hurt the experience though was the lack of large trees. It was very hot today. The rides here make up a basic package. There is a large Ferris wheel, double decker carousel, bumper cars and so on. The coaster here is a Golden Horse Spinnin...er family coaster. I am not sure of the Chinese name, but the train had Flying Car written on it. It is based on the Vekoma Roller Skater. It is a bit choppy, but at least it is not a spinning coaster, jungle mouse, powered dragon or any of the other designs China can't help but copy numerous times. I am hoping that new rides built here will not be copies of these designs. It is time for the Chinese companies to offer new concepts. Back to the park, I am happy that this park offered rides that were an alternative to Heyuan Plaza, which I visited yesterday. I like Heyuan Plaza and Heyuan Childrens Park because they offer different things. They didn't just opt to build the same rides at both parks. One has a spinning coaster, the other has a more conventional family coaster. Both parks have a double decker carousel and bumper cars and it should be expected that parks in the same city would offer some rides exactly the same, but my visits to these two parks over the past two days gave me two different experiences. Another things about the parks here in Heyuan is the prices are dirt cheap. A Golden Horse Spinning Coaster usually costs 20-30 RMB for a ride. The one at Heyuan Plaza was 10 RMB. The family coaster at Heyuan Childrens Park was 11 RMB per ride. At Galaxy Land in Zhongshan, the same ride costs 20 RMB. The Heyuan Childrens Park coaster became coaster #1062 for me today and Heyuan Children's Park became park #528 for me to visit. Heyuan's parks are clean, fun and a step in the right direction for how two parks in the same city should be built in terms of selecting which rides to offer. Well done Heyuan. I have arrived at Heyuan Childrens Park. This is just inside the entrance. My first stop would be at the ticket booth. This was my ride of choice. I think the English name is Flying Car. Whatever it is...at least it is not another spinner. It is the Golden Horse version of the Vekoma roller skater. It is laid out a little differently. It is a new ride. It seems both parks in Heyuan are well kept. The park has one of these swing rides. Here is a look at the Ferris Wheel to close out the TR.

June 9, 2017: Heyuan Plaza, Heyuan, Guangdong, China I am visiting Heyuan for the weekend. I got into town early this evening and decided to go to Heyuan Plaza. I discovered this place a few years ago online. They had a powered coaster at the time. Upon arriving, I noticed that a lot of rides had been replaced by newer rides. The powered coaster is now gone. The water park is gone. A Golden Horse Spinning Coaster is here. There are about 15 rides in total. They are all well kept. Heyuan Plaza became park #527 for me to visit. I got there just as the sun was setting for the evening. It is almost 7 pm and I have arrived at Heyuan Plaza. It will be dark soon. This was the first ride to greet me when I entered the amusement area. The lights came on just as I arrived. The carousel is very nice. Here is the Haunted House. It is a walk through attraction. Ahhhh...yes....another Golden Horse Spinning Coaster. This one is not on RCDB or the ACE coaster census. Same design....same color scheme. It is coaster #1061 for me to ride and coaster #382 for me to discover before ACE or RCDB.

May 4, 2017: Oriental Heritage (Xiamen, Fujian, China) Fanatwild opened its newest park on April 16, 2017. It is Oriental Heritage in Xiamen. I have been excited about the opening of this park. I visited it today. As usual, for a Fantawild park, the attractions are nicely themed. The rides are a mix of traditional rides, simulators and so on. There are two coasters here. Galaxy Express: This became coaster #1059 for me. It is a Vekoma family suspended coaster. It is like the one I rode at Fantawild Dreamland in Zhengzhou in 2015. For its size, it is very intense. It is the mega lite of family coasters. I got six rides on it today. Jungle Trailblazer: This is a custom designed wooden coaster with a lot of airtime and it is a very intense ride. It is one of the best wooden coasters I have ever ridden. It became coaster #1060 for me. It also became woodie #103 for me. It is also my third Fantawild wooden coaster. All of them are named Jungle Trailblazer. The park was dead today. Both of the Fanatwild parks in Xiamen are completely empty on school days, so if you come to China outside of the summer vacation or winter vacation season, you will have these parks to yourself. Here is my first Oriental Heritage park and my 7th Fantawild Park. This tower is near the center of the park. There are rides here of course. This is a 4-D cinema attraction. Can we say BOOBS? They have a pretty basic boat chute ride here. An old train makes for a nice display at the park. Galaxy Express was my first ride of the day. It is a Vekoma "family" coaster. It is actually very thrilling. It features a good first drop into a tunnel and some intense turns. This could be the mega lite of family suspended/inverted coasters. Jungle Trailblazer is the star of the park. It is the biggest coaster in Xiamen. Here is a view of the first drop. It runs Timberliners. Here is one more look at Jungle Trailblazer to close out the TR.

April 3, 2017: Qixinggang Park (Seven Star Port Park), Gaoming, Foshan, China I went to Gaoming today to visit Qixinggang Park. That is Seven Star Port Park in English. I had discovered this place a couple of years ago and had wanted to visit. Unfortunately, the town of Gaoming has limited connections and it was hard for me to determine how to get there. Very few foreigners visit Gaoming. Gaoming is surprisingly clean and so is the park I visited. I can tell some of the rides were newer than others and even the old rides seemed kept up. Apparently, Gaoming is a rich town. Although it is a small town, there seems to be money to support and keep up an amusement park here. There are three coasters. A bog standard jungle mouse is here. I rode it twice. A twin helix powered coaster is here. I took two spins on it. There is a new kiddie coaster here. They will not let adults ride. The rest of the rides are very common as well here in China, but the park is a lot cleaner than most parks. Even the restrooms were clean. I was not expecting it to be as nice as it was. Qixinggang became my 525th park and my coaster count now stands at 1058 coasters. I have finally made it to Qixinggang Park. That is Seven Star Port Park in English. This sign is inside the gate. It is in English. This is amazing when you consider the town sees very little in the way of English speaking visitors. Here is the Haunted House. It is just inside the park gate. This kiddie coaster is one of the newest rides here. It is nicely themed. Here is the carousel shot for this park. Some of the paths provide shade from the sun. This is certainly a welcome thing during the summers in southern China. Here is another one of the many rides here. These are common in Chinese parks. A jungle mouse is here. It was made in the nearby city of Zhongshan. These are very common in China. It is based on a Japanese design. I have been on many of these. Another day...another powered dragon... This will finish the TR.

March 12, 2017: Fenggangyuan Longshan Park I went to Dongguan on this date to visit Fenggangyuan Longshan Park. Upon arrival, I noticed that the mouse coaster had been removed recently. It was in one of two areas that featured amusement rides here. This area now has no rides. I walked over to the second rides area where I found a decent crowd of people enjoying the park. The have a twin helix powered coaster here that is a mirror image of the other ones commonly found throughout China. The ride package here also includes a Beston Top Spin knockoff that is not in service. Other than the powered coaster being a mirror image of the other powered coasters, Fenggangyuan Longshan Park's ride lineup does not bring anything different to the amusement park scene in China and is best enjoyed as a local park built for local families in a working class area. I am at Fenggangyuan Longshan Park in Dongguan. I am going to ride another Chinese mouse coaster today. Okay.....so I will not ride another Chinese mouse coaster today. The madness continues as this damned thing is the first thing to greet me when I arrive at the second ride area in the park. These are very common in Chinese parks. I have to include the bog standard carousel in this TR. The powered coaster is still here. This one is a mirror image of the common twin helix powered coaster. This one had lap bars that made anyone over 50 kg feel like a fat arse. Here is the paratrooper ride to close out the TR.
