  1. Congrats Big Mike and have fun up in my neck of the woods. Looks like you are going to have some amazing weather up here for your trip. Have fun.
  2. I would love to see some concept art for this park. It sounds like if they can pull it off that it would be a really winner in my book.
  3. I think us east coast guys will let you west coast guys keep Colossus lol. You cant have our El Toro. Its mine, all mine
  4. Robb usually likes to have one big official announcement instead of a bunch all over the thread. Its just a way to tidy up the thread and get all the information out. He did the same thing with both the Intimidator rides, and I had the same thing happen. I looked back and my posts were gone lol. Regarding the ride, I am more than pleased. I am going to be heading to Cedar Point in July, and it will be nice to have another ride to cool off on. I hope the ride stays true to the animation and maybe has a few more features along the ride because you will absolutely get soaked.
  5. ^ Beat me to it lol. Anyways that might be the main reason, I mean think of all the additional materials that would have to be used in order to gain that extra 60 ft, not just on the lift but through the remainder of the ride. Most parks have a hard time affording a 200ft B&M, never mind a 300ft coaster.
  6. I agree SFNE's will always be Superman Ride of Steel to me.
  7. ^ I have to agree and disagree. Sure it might not be a "Disney level" themed ride but for a park like Cedar Point or any other amusement park that would probably be considered highly themed. Either way if it's a water ride or a coaster I will be happy because i'm going there next summer and it will be nice to be able to cool off.
  8. I would say if you have the money, go. This is a great park, and should not be missed. I went last year for Labor Day weekend expecting some big crowd's but surprisingly there was barely anyone there. The longest wait I had was getting through New York traffic lol. I don't know about your case with the events planned, and the time you are going, but if Big Mike is going you should too lol. Have fun if you do go, and make sure you ride El Toro.
  9. Amazing, Wow you have done one great job so far. I cant wait to see Frontier Land, and Tomorrow Land. Keep up the good work.
  10. I'm just curious with how Disney is going to use Marvel in its parks, if they decide to do that at all. I never says that Disney is going to use Marvel for park use it just says "Ike Perlmutter, Marvel's CEO, would continue to oversee the Marvel properties, and work directly with Disney executives to integrate them into Disney's businesses.". Which could also just mean movies, and novelties, but I highly doubt that. I'm interested to see if Disney will let Universal keep its Marvel themed rides, and if not for how long. I have a bad feeling about this.
  11. That was great Wow, was not expecting that.
  12. I agree I mean its a 300ft coaster, it has been so long since MF was built I was starting to loose hope that another giga would be built in the US. I personally would love to have it in any park up here in MA.
  13. Awww, 3 and a half years to go. Time to break out the fake I.D. lol
  14. Wow those add campaign's are a little over the top. I mean wrapping the side of the train, wow. I have a marketing idea that they should have done. Before they tore down Psyclone they should have gotten Zippo to sponsor its final season. (Bonfire!!!!)
  15. ^ Thanks, I have been wondering that for a while. lol
  16. Good point I never realized that until now. Well Busch Parks have the B&M Coasters, and Disney (with the exception of Primeval Whirl) have been Vekoma or Disney Coasters. Just imagine if HRRR had been an Intamin. (without their stupid height maximum of course) Still, the ride looks amazing anyways.
  17. ^ I just have one question. Wasn't the Whyte Lightning campagne for Cedar Point. I only noticed a link to it on Cedar Points Blog. How did Carowinds and KD get thrown in the discussion with the Whyte Lightning campagne? I agree the theme is a great marketing idea for the area the park is located in. It looks like an amazing ride, great addition Carowinds.
  18. ^Ya lol not to mention one case of "Megawhip-lash" lol, but that would be one cool ride.
  19. Ya he might have just had a bad ride on Screaming Eagle. Though I have never been to SFSTL I have had 2 completely different ride experiences on coasters by just moving a few rows forward or back. Like on Wildcat at Lake Compounce, which to me was very rough in the back but near the front it was a great little wooden coaster. Plus with wooden coasters you never know how they are going to throw you, from ride to ride. Nice TR by the way, I hope you had a great day at SFSTL.
  20. Its just nice to hope and speculate on what it could be if it was a coaster, though I would be happy with what ever Cedar Point decides to build. They could definitely use a new water ride though, seeing as they only have 2. I'm hoping what ever the ride is that its dueling, because "Lightning Strikes Twyce". Also I think West Virginia at the bottom of the Whyte Lightning page is a clue, i'm just not sure to what yet. Any ideas? (sorry if this has already been discussed)
  21. ^^ Lol Don't forgot the 6" Well then lets call it the 230ft stereotype.
  22. ^ Ya I agree with you, that the layout will be the number one thing people will jump to complain about. (Its to short, it looks like every other B&M, I was expecting more, ect.) Also 230ft, 80mph, seems to be a safe guess seeing as though its a B&M hyper. ("Crossing my fingers" maybe B&M breaks their 230 ft barrier.) We will all find out for sure tomorrow.
  23. Argument about B&M restraints? I don't think so. You never know lol
  24. ^No way lol. I cant wait for the announcement. Then we can all argue again about the restraints like with Intimidator 305
