The end of a thrilling decade.

I wouldn't say domination of the entire world... More like domination of every bar within a 20 mile radius of every park with a coaster in it in the entire world. -
Theme Park Review 2010 Trip Flyers!

R&E - Please let me know if/when you receive my deposits for the UK/Europe trip. Thanks. -
In the cases of Panda & Laughing Dragon, it was more about building functionality & throughput of guests in that particular area than it was about the theme of the land. A land's theme is mostly for the attractions in the area rather than the exact menu offerings. Disney just opened a chinese food place in their Pacific Wharf area of DCA, for example. I believe Knott's has a Panda Express in their Ghost Town area as well. It's not something anyone really makes a big deal about.

Underneath/behind/next to Tidal Wave. With Freefall's maintenance shed gone, something could definitely fit there combined with the "on-stage" space. In fact, it was rumored Terminator would wind through that area... Well "wind through" is a bit different & easier to pull off than landing an entire ride/queue/maintenance area in that space AND keeping all the back stage buildings intact without alterations, which would no doubt be a requirement. Maybe an aerial photo would help me understand, but I don't see how there's enough room for both a new ride & all the backstage area without the ride being rather small, even if Tidal Wave was removed.

Ok, so, coasters have breakdowns. They're machines with many moving parts. Breakdowns are inevitable. I'm not sure why this is an issue. Also Tidal Wave remains a fairly popular way to cool off on a hot day. It's no more pointless than any other big splashy ride which are found at just about every major park.

Hey Robb & TPR, CONGRATS on the Steel Dragon 2000 footage being included in the Mega Speed show! Unless I'm completely inept at detecting TPR footage when I see it, and hearing Robb saying "Oh my god, what was that?" in one of his wonderfully random on-ride comments, that was all from TPR right? The POV looked great on the show. Nice job!

Disneyland Fantasmic! Dragon !

I can't help but wonder how many parents & children of the general public, who have no idea of any dragon saga anything, now come away from the show wondering why in the world there are raucous cheers when the big evil dragon shows up and lights the place on fire. -
This is absolutely ridiculous. At this rate, some time in the near future EVERYONE will have some reason why they should be exempted out of the ride queue. Where will that get us? Well we'll all be waiting for each other before we can ride. In other words, we'll wind up right back in the same place we're at now, having to wait in a queue, only we'll all have little disorder labels plastered across our foreheads. Seems to me that whoever thought this policy up is the one with the mental disorder. What happens when everyone has a disorder of some sort that prevents them from being able to wait? Coasters now must have a capacity of 100,000,000,000 riders per hour by law so no one EVER has to wait?

While smoke/air quality might be a reason some people may decide to cancel their SFMM plans, there is no aforementioned problems such as freeway closures that would affect SFMM's operating hours. Unlike last year & recent years, there is no fire right next to SFMM or even within 30 miles. There is no fire threat, or fire-related road problems that would affect access to SFMM for guests or employees from any direction. As far as I know, even the fire's proximity to the 14 in Acton is rather remote & the 14 isn't imminently threatened as of now.

^^ That banner is actually on Jet Stream & is relatively far from Viper. I think for most people, advertising isn't a problem as long as the marketing behind it is done well. If it's engaging & entertaining, nobody cares. However, if its a product people don't use or like much, or the ad is, in their opinion, tacky or otherwise sub-par, the complaints start coming. Theme parks have been doing advertising for decades. It's not really a new thing. Advertising makes money & encourages economic activity. If you come across an ad that doesn't quite appeal to you, just give yourself a quick pep talk & you'll be fine.
