  1. Not sure when you're going to have the chance to ask other than the "management hello" during lunch. There's no Q&A session on the schedule.
  2. Who cares. Revolution will once again ride OTSR-free, and hopefully won't look like a sad shell of its former self anymore. That's what matters here.
  3. No kidding Robb. Palm & Fountain Terrace was where I stayed for most of my Japan trip in 2007 and it was a pretty darn long shuttle ride. 15 minutes sounds about right but took longer if traffic lights and such worked against you. The feeling of immersion was gone as the shuttle traveled through some interesting neighboring areas. I remember at some point passing something that resembled a fishery. However, they tried their best to keep it going with a TV in the bus playing various Tokyo Disney Resort promo material including a song I'm sure anyone who's been to TDR is familiar with, "This is the plaaaaaaaaaace..." Even though a bus was needed, and will be to ferry people to/from this hotel, I enjoyed the fact that there was a schedule and they were consistently hitting it right on the minute like a train. Just goes to show that everything's better at Tokyo Disney, even the bus to your hotel! Oh, and here's some photos of the actual Palm Terrace from my 2007 trip. I'd have taken more but I was actually dealing with a mild concussion from whacking the back of my head on Joypolis' Spin Bullet ride. Thank heavens for the little 7-11 style store that had some really cold drinks! Fun little courtyard in the middle of the hotel. Will be interesting to see what becomes of this. More "Tokyo Disney" coming soon here! Here's a look at the main entrance, and a glimpse of the shuttle bus that took us to/from Tokyo Disney Resort.
  4. Anyone know what happened to Krusty's Drive-Thru Station? It was in the store as a premium item but disappeared a few days ago and I haven't seen it since.
  5. You mean like the prequel trilogy? Didn't really seem to do much damage. New Star Tours still happened. Darth Maul's been in the Jedi Academy since that started. The people, characters, lore etc have been a part of Star Wars Weekends without much complaining about how the movies themselves mostly sucked. People are going to eat this up regardless because Star Wars. If the new movies are good enough and turn out to be award winners and such, that'll just be the icing on the cake for the studio.
  6. Weather forecasts for Valencia are rarely accurate. Case in point, today. The forecasts I knew of all said it was going to be warmer today than yesterday, and it was. It was 107 when I was driving through Sylmar heading home from the office at about 5pm. The SCV is almost always warmer than Sylmar, especially where SFMM is, it was very likely pushing 110 as I said it likely would. But who really cares? 104, 107, 110, whatever. The point is, it was HOT. It'll be HOT again tomorrow. So I hope folks are prepared for that. Hopefully it'll cool off before WCB in a couple of weeks but don't expect a huge cool down. Our hot temps usually extend clear through September, yet people are almost always surprised when that happens.
  7. For anyone going today, it's going to be really, really hot. Temps will likely push the 110 mark. Be prepared.
  8. I think Boomerang's line has a lot more to do with its very low capacity than whatever popularity it might have.
  9. I'm currently at 51,621 duct tape so I must be doing something right. Keep getting hit with "completed" across the project board though. EDIT: Uggggh. Hit the Project Board completed cap before 8am this morning after submitting at most 7 or 8 of whatever the highest payout job was. Now just shy of 62,000 duct tape but apparently no more project board until 1am tomorrow. (Note: I am not using donuts to rush any part of any task related to these projects.)
  10. Yeah I didn't unlock Ray Patterson until the day before Act I ended. It's tough to be constantly looking in on this thing every hour.
  11. I wouldn't be concerned at all if Xcelerator went down. We'd just go have fun on some other ride or doing some other fun activity that would take Xcelerator's place. Can't go around constantly on the brink of disaster where any little thing going wrong will ruin your entire day. I can't imagine living with that sort of stress level, especially at a theme park where the whole point is to have fun.
  12. How did you manage that? So far I've only obtained enough track to go a relatively short distance.
  13. As someone who's been with TPR almost since its founding, allow me to say very sincerely that I hope this never happens. It's a real shame that some idiots made you guys felt driven to do that with the trips. It'll be a shame if that happens with these kinds of events as well. It makes me sad that I was ultimately unable to participate in the TPR tours while they were going on. Now that my life is more stable than it was a couple years ago, I would have loved to take some of my vacation days and have a blast on a TPR tour. These events are something that I personally look forward to. I'll be having my nephew join me at the SFMM WCB day now that he's finally old enough and tall enough to do these rides with me. He's very excited and he's worked hard to earn the money for his ticket. So if I can say just one thing about this issue to Robb and everyone who works hard to put these events on, know that the bad apples are the minority and people like myself and I'm sure others are very appreciative of the opportunity to have fun at the parks doing awesome stuff like backstage tours, Q&A sessions, ERT sessions and so forth. Without your time and hard work, that wouldn't have been possible. So thank you. Looking forward to a very fun weekend real soon!
  14. Again it's upon request and not really obvious. People just assume the only drinks available are fountain/bottled soda and bottled water that cost money, and water fountains. Very few people think to ask for the water that comes from the fountain, but just about all places that offer fountain drinks will give ice water upon request. The idea of food/drinks being included in admission is an interesting one, but not something you'd ever see at Six Flags. Not as long as their aim is to keep the admission as cheap as possible and make more money on repeat visitors' parking, food/merch sales and various upcharges.
  15. The only law regarding restaurant water service that I know of is that restaurants can't provide it unless it is requested, and that has to do with the drought.
  16. So I'm going to SDC for my first time this coming Saturday and all this nonsense is making it difficult to find good information for my upcoming visit.
  17. They can say whatever they like for legal purposes and maintaining whatever relationship with the Mouse House that they want. If Dead of Winter resembles Frozen in any way shape or form, that's what people are going to focus on and talk about. It may not be Frozen directly and specifically but people will still social media about how it's *like* Frozen if there's any resemblance. Besides isn't it something of a Haunt tradition to troll that other park down the street just a little bit?
  18. It's pretty clear that Carousel was purchased to no longer be run as a hotel, and one day flattened to provide access to the east side of Harbor. It was only a question of when. I think this land was purchased a little ahead of schedule but the opportunity was jumped on when it came up. Carousel's spot provides a perfect link to the street from the larger swaths of land to the east. It would not be difficult at all to build pedestrian access across Harbor into the Disneyland area, though the access will have to jog south a bit somehow if the intention is to link up with the current transportation/shuttle hub on the east side of the Esplanade. The question is now that Disney is taking a firm foothold on that side of Harbor, what will the smaller, more independent hoteliers do? Clearly the name brands aren't going to leave, especially the one that was just built behind Mimis, but will the others stay and keep going amidst all the construction and one day radically altered traffic pattern? It'll be interesting to see what happens there.
  19. Bulldoze Carousel and you've got a perfect link between Disneyland's eastern gate and where Pumbaa and the other new purchase is. I can easily see Pumbaa becoming a parking garage and the rest of the land used for pedestrian routes, potential new tram loading, handicap/bus parking, etc. All that would be needed is a Vegas-style pedestrian bridge over Harbor, and some expanded traffic flow routes into Pumbaa from I-5 and surrounding area. It wouldn't be too terribly difficult to cut off Manchester right at that Quality Inn (or buy and bulldoze it as well) and build a direct link from I-5 straight into the new purchase and the future Pumbaa garage.
  20. You vastly underestimate how much attendance a park that stays open year-round within driving distance of tens of millions can generate. Coasters alone can and will do that because that's all SFMM has. They have rides that can't be found at any of the other SoCal parks, plus the aforementioned cheap tickets. That's how they differentiate themselves from the competition in their market. So that being the case, most people who come to the park show up, ride a few coasters, and call it a day. There's none of the familiar trimmings to a usual theme park day. It's a very different clientele and very different feel there than at just about any other theme park in the country, and there are very good reasons for that.
  21. SFMM's problem isn't that there isn't enough kids rides. There are plenty of them. The real problem is they are all in one single area of the park. There's literally no reason for the young kid to walk around with the bigger sibling around the park since there's nothing for the little one to ride save for maybe Gold Rusher. Ninja can work but is way up the hill and not on the way to anything. Not many families are going to want to come to SFMM if they're going to be split the entire day, or have one kid completely bored and sad for not being able to ride over & over again.
  22. I like the new update but this endless tapping is really starting to become annoying. There should be an option for longer tasks, even if their payout is relatively small.
  23. Not only that, but a second ERT at night also provides peace of mind in case something happens in the morning that prevents TC from running during the morning ERT. Now if that happens, people won't be freaking out, complaining, then cramming into line whenever it starts running again and ruin the ERT. GREAT decision to go for a nighttime ERT on TC as well!
