  1. ^ You seem awfully determined to blab as much as you possibly can, and then spend a lot of time justifying why people should listen to you.
  2. I have trouble letting go.
  3. If indoor quick service counters are too intimidating, how on earth did that guy ever eat a McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc? All of them require entry into the building unless going through the drive-thru. There's no possible way that could be an excuse.
  4. Yeah, they got rid of the huge beach balls in that one too. Lousy people who don't know how to have fun on a ride.
  5. Soarin' has such low capacity compared with other rides in Future World. I don't recall the exact figures but its something like half of Test Track's capacity, and even less than Mission Space. If one of the two theatres was down, as happens frequently in CA, the wait time skyrockets even higher. Soarin' does seem to be more popular in Epcot than it is in DCA, but Epcot itself also draws far more people than DCA, and Soarin' is marketed more than it ever was in CA. Not really surprising the crowds come in droves. Hopefully with the third theatre Soarin's stand-by wait times will look more comparable to the rest of the park instead of Soarin' being 90 while the rest of the park's wait times are in the 15-40 range.
  6. The most important part of the Soarin' project is the third theatre. That much additional capacity is going to work wonders for that ride.
  7. The two biggest issues that I see inhibiting flow through are the Astro Orbitor and all the stroller parking that's setup along the Peoplemover track in front of Star Tours and Buzz. Stroller parking isn't really something we think too much about but it does take up huge amounts of space where space is at a premium. Moving the Astro Orbitor back to its original location could solve both problems, thereby freeing up an incredible amount of space in Tomorrowland's western half.
  8. Awesome. One less person in line that I'll have to wait behind. Honestly, I know I'm sort of in the minority here, but having been there to see Dragons before and after Potter (and after the day the dueling died), what's there now just looked like a sad, hollow shell of its former self. The ride and its footprint was a huge eyesore compared to the rest of Potter around it. Since that former self is most likely NOT coming back, I'm 100% in favor of just getting rid of the darn ride and building something spectacular in its place. Remember the good times. Look forward to the better times.
  9. As much as I'm a coaster fan, I would have no problem at all seeing the Dragon coasters completely go away and be replaced by something more Potter-esque that's really amazing.
  10. Kinda hard to build a stadium from scratch between now and the 2016 season. The Inglewood home won't be ready until 2019, news articles say. Until then, the Coliseum will most likely be the Rams' home.
  11. Rams approved to move to Los Angeles. Chargers approved to join them if they so choose within a year. If Chargers don't move, Raiders have next option. Nice to have the Rams back, beginning in their original LA home of the LA Coliseum.
  12. Just to be clear... This particular site has a well-earned reputation for presenting rumored information as though it were fact, just as they're doing here, and then being completely wrong. At least this time they were diligent enough to admit it. Take this one with a grain of salt. In fact, probably best to have the entire salt shaker nearby. Their illustration of the re-routed DLRR in particular comes off to me as highly unlikely.
  13. Nearly every day I would find some media source somewhere that talked up the closures being made for Star Wars Land's construction to make it sound as though half the park was being shut down forever just for Star Wars. "Disneyland to close 15 attractions to make room for Star Wars!!' or whatever silly sensationalized headline they wanted to throw up there. In reality all that's being "lost" is a tiny corner of the park that a very small minority of guests ever set foot in, and a part of Tom Sawyer Island that hasn't been opened to guests in several years. That's IT! What's being built in their place, and in the greatly expanded area, will no doubt be incredible and a much, MUCH better use of space than a petting zoo and an arena for a show that hasn't been run in 18 years. Any fanboy who would whine and cry about this would be just as bad if not worse than the nutty "Save Colossus" crowd. The railroad will come back. The boats will come back. The canoes will come back. Relax. That area of Disneyland is going to be so much better once this is all done. Just wait and see.
  14. The image looks great and all, but doesn't say much in terms of how exactly the island and Rivers will be modified as part of the Star Wars project.
  15. For me it seemed to work a little bit easier if I zoomed in on Maggie as much as possible before trying to tap her.
  16. And before that were the 2fer years. Two one-day one-park tickets for $99, but they couldn't be the same park on both days. It was usually offered January-May every year pre DCA re-launch.
  17. According to TSTO addicts, there is a mini-game after a 22 part questline that involves Krustyland during part 18. I'm only just beginning part 12 so I've got a long way to go yet.
  18. Springfield Heights Institute of Technology has an interesting acronym if the "of" is dropped.
  19. Well I don't know about Panama City but I know there's plenty in Orlando to support the giant wheel, just like there is in Las Vegas. The giant wheels are huge eye-catchers, just like this will be. They will only add to a list of reasons why people should travel to places like Orlando, Vegas, or Atlantic City and make those trips better than they were before. I agree nobody would travel to these places *just* for the giant wheel or polercoaster, but these are not being built to be destinations themselves. They're area attractions, and they will do well as attractions as long as those who run them don't totally screw up the pricing model.
  20. Things get messy when the question of where to draw the line between guest inconvenience and sales opportunity is asked. Of course the park wants to maximize sales by putting carts in high traffic areas, but when the carts are causing foot traffic to jam up like cars on an overcrowded freeway, that doesn't seem to be viewed as a problem. They just seem OK with the traffic. That's what I wish they would address.
  21. If it wasn't such an awful coaster, I would try to ride it whenever I took a trip to Vegas. The intent here seems to simply be to add to Atlantic City's attraction lineup. That's never a bad thing. They can put this right in the forefront of things to do in Atlantic City and why people should come. It'll be a headline attraction of the area. Not everybody's going to ride it, of course, but it will also draw tourists who just want to see it. It's going to be crazy. Hope it gets built!
  22. 87 rides consecutively (minus one cycle) on Jaguar! at Knott's Berry Farm during Coasting for Kids. Also during that event... 21 rides on Coast Rider 2 rides on Xcelerator 1 ride each on Silver Bullet, Pony Express and GhostRider 113 coaster rides total in one day for the kids. Wouldn't have it any other way!
  23. It's hard to say they're screwing people over by doing this when all that's changing on a day-to-day basis is how much the 1-day ticket is being discounted by. To take weekdays down to $80 from $95 is a pretty big cut by theme park standards. That doesn't say "greedy" to me. It says USH is trying to maximize revenue by doing a better job of selling the off-peak days on the calendar. That's what we should prefer parks look to do rather than just upping the cost of admission across the board on everybody. It'll probably eventually lead to the $100 mark being crossed on peak days, holidays, etc, but Magic Kingdom already breached that mark with their $105 before tax price. It's not as unprecedented as it may seem.
  24. Moving all the confounded ODV carts out of the walkways would be a huge improvement alone.
  25. Also, the banning of toy gun sales? Incredibly dumb. Beyond dumb. The contradictions to that are already everywhere. Kids can ride Astro Blasters/Space Ranger Spin but now can't buy the little toy gun blaster when they get off the ride because... that'll turn them into the next mass shooter? We can't have the little toy guns but toy light sabers are cool, toy swords, toy ball & chains, other forms of toy weaponry are great right? Are they next to be banned because we're now buying this insane logic? Ughh. This is the kind of thing that makes me hate humanity.
