  1. ^You know what's funny I found your videos and pictures of it and was like OMG I must ride that thing! Then I found out it was no longer! So yeah that is on my list of bummed!
  2. Yes, but I was wondering what rides you miss and which ones you were happy to see go. LoL
  3. Sometimes we take it for granted! We have a ride we love and we ride it not realizing it will at some point come to a end. But one day we get up and hear the news! Your wonderful ride is auctioning off it's final rides! First you get angry then you're brought to tears. Finally after some time you make your way to the park for a marathon of riding to get your fix before it's too late. You've said your goodbyes. Finally you can start getting excited about what surely amazing and new ride is coming to the park! You wait and finally the park announces their NEW (more like relocated) Vekoma Boomerang! You are then so angry that you smash your computer and collapse to the floor in a pile of grief and tears! What have they done you scream towards the the heavens! What have they done!? So with that unnecessarily long example out of the way I was wondering what peoples favorite defunct rides are? Also, were you happy with the replacement? Also, what ride were you most happy about being removed? What ride removal made you dance with glee? For me the one I still miss isl Orient Express at Worlds of Fun. I just always had a thing for that ride. Now I don't blame the park it was time for it to go. But I do still miss it. Now rides I was happy to see go. Nice knowing ya Windjammer!
  4. Well I'm 26 now. I was 9 at the time and it was Thunderation at Silver Dollar City! It's that ride/park that started my love of Roller Coasters/Theme Parks. In fact The very next week I found my way on a friends trip to SFSTL . First thing I rode was Batman! I was just scared beyond belief of going upside down! I still remember how terrified I was going up that lift. I remember telling myself If I was going to be a roller coaster fan (Enthusiast was not yet in my vocabulary) that I was going to have to do it! I guess I willed myself into being a enthusiast. Is that normal? Either way as soon as that first loop had come and gone I realized I had found my hobby! I've been a huge dork ever since so thanks a lot roller coasters!
  5. I'm Excited to ride both Outlaw Run and Rattler! Completely different rides and I'm sure a completely different feel! I think I need to plan my trip to Texas again!
  6. ^ Yeah I agree! I just have a gut feeling about RMCC! I know they don't have much under their belt but New Texas Giant is a Impressive notch on the belt! RMCC the B&M of wood! Now here is hoping RMCC decides to build a launched woodie!
  7. ^ Now that is funny! I can say only one positive thing about SOB! I thought is was Beautiful! What do they say? Pain is beauty! I guess it's true!
  8. So I'm going to be honest here. Earlier this year my worst fear came true! I went to ride PowderKeg at Silver Dollar City and was turned away! I was too fat to ride! Now I didn't get angry or throw a fit. Instead I calmly left the ride of course feeling very embarrassed! I hear a lot of enthusiasts throw fits about how they don't build ride seats big enough, that designers aren't being realistic with our new bigger population! They moan and groan instead of realizing the problem isn't with the park or designers but with themselves! I was so embarrassed by what had happened that I was forced to take a long hard look at myself and was again embarrassed by what I had allowed myself to become. A fat lazy person! I realized I had a choice to make! Was I going to let my being lazy take from me my hobbies? HELL NO! So I made a choice and I chose Roller Coasters! I chose what made me happy! I started eating better and working out 5 days a week! So far I have lost 30 lbs and should be in fine riding form by next season! What I am basically saying is thank God for normal size seats! I think having to go through that embarrassing situation has forced me to make better choices in my life! I'm healthier, happier, and hopefully looking better too! I wouldn't change what happened for the world! Being Too FAT To Ride was actually a great and very positive thing for me in the end! That said, I was wondering if anyone else here has had or knows of other peoples experience with this situation?
  9. Wildfire! The View is Breathtaking!
  10. I agree completely here! And Honestly think about this! If a park built on a pier over the ocean does not have the sense to be insured then I worry where else they also may be cutting corners? Seems to me if they aren't bothering with proper insurance then why would ride maintenance or the safety of their customers be a concern as well. How can you care about your customers if you don't care about your own investment? If they don't rebuild it's a sign of something being terribly wrong within the operation of the park itself. Infact any uninsured park that does not rebuild may in fact save lives by preventing people from riding their crappy unmaintained rides in the future! I'm just saying. . . (I'm not saying that this is the case with these parks.) That said I am very sad for the families and other small business owners! Even those who do have coverage! I wish them well on what is surely a very hard and stressful time!
  11. Now I am a bit sad about it. Oddly enough I'm more sad about a missed credit than the ride itself. That being said maybe I should reevaluate how much I care about credits LoL
  12. Just got an e-mail. Silver Dollar City will be releasing a virtual on ride video of Outlaw Run on Thursday, November 1st at 10a.m. They also released a teaser video for the virtual ride. Here is the link.
  13. Wow Looking beautiful! I can't wait to ride this thing next year! I'll be going up again in a couple of weeks so I'll try to take some additional pictures. Although I am sad to hear they are parting out Ozark Wildcat but I'm not surprised. I just wish it would have been possible to relocate it.
  14. The ticker at http://www.silverdollarcity2013.com has finished but still no change BOO!
  15. Well Silver Dollar City has posted their first clue through their e-mail sign up! Take a look here! https://www.facebook.com/Silverdollarcity/app_6009294086
  16. I had the same issue but I paid with pay pal on June 18th but have never heard anything back. However I assumed it was because he was in Europe. Does anyone know when they scheduled to return that way I can keep my eye out stuff? Thanks
  17. I've always been fascinated by this ride! I've seen many photos and videos of it and for some reason it always looks fake to me! Like its a model or something! That said it also looks like a whole hell of a lot of fun!
  18. Yeah I sent the money to join club tpr a few days ago and got my PayPal confirmation but haven't heard anything else and still can't get into the tpr club forum. I just figured it was because the were busy and in Italy and would get to it when they got back.
  19. New Construction photos! Looks like that turnaround is going up!
  20. Ahhh Nothing but the highest in quality Disney style theming! Some of these small parks are kind of creepy! Or is that just me?
  21. Wow so much whoring going on! Well as long as you have fun and tell the other coasters before you ride them that you got a coaster whoring STD I don't see a problem with it.
  22. actually xyz that's not a bad idea we could put an option on profiles on whether you are only open two showing people the park or whether you are also open to letting them spend the night.
  23. To me much of the idea is that we connect enthusiasts with enthusiast also at any point a person would have the right to reject someone request for a visit.
  24. Yeah that is pretty awesome! Now I don't know if I would ever want to ride a full size version though lol
