  1. ^^ Great news about Tiger. I have all but given up on that ride. Damn shame to have all that GCI suck so bad. I have actually only found TIger open a few times so I have very few rides on that side. Kumba has always been great on my visits, it really is a great ride.
  2. I was there 2 weeks ago and Kumba was running great as always.
  3. ^^ Thanks for stopping by, that saves me a trip. I hope the core samples were good, always an iffy prospect around here.
  4. ^^ As many times as I have been to the park, I still get turned around a little. I went yesterday and it was a great time as always but the Jungala detour makes the flow even worse. I have to admit though I spent more time in Jungala than normal. All the rides were running great, well except Gwazi of course.
  5. That sucker is chunky! This is one of the funnest looking things on earth. Drunken ERT on Mammoth
  6. The waterpark took a budget hit I think. Could there be any reason at this late of date to have "place holders" for the waterpark. That is a very big downgrade, it's completely off my radar if that's what they are building. It might work fine for them but anything interesting about the original plan is gone. Maybe Splashtacular lost interest in the project. The coaster looks like a lot of fun. I hope people ride it, The Hurricane seemed to always be empty.
  7. ^ Totally agree about Seaworld at Christmas. I will check out the festivities at BGT if it isn't too expensive. Seaworld's is pretty good and free.
  8. I can't agree more about the camelback/inline element on Dueling Dragons, luckily I have experienced it the right way over 400 times. Left side last row on Fire side was really killer visuals. I loved pointing it out to first time riders, the highlight of the ride IMO. Cool pictures of Hulk and a good report, thanks.
  9. I would love either of those. The only way I would be in favor of a Dive Machine would be some kind of extended layout. I did't know the trains had so much drag so that would be a challenge. An Intamin woodie at Cedar Point seems like a no brainer, yet it never happens.
  10. SKyrush, you are my true love. I hate being apart from you and think of you often. Summer is so far away it hurts inside.
  11. Screamscape said maybe an extend layout for a Dive Machine. That does sound like a pretty cool ride. I can't see the Point building a Wingrider at this point. A humongous freaking Dive machine would be very awesome. Even if they kept it in height between Magnum and Millienium Force, say 260 or so, it would be a thrilling ride. A 300 foot Dive Machine would be amazing. They might have to soften up the valley at the bottom of the first drop or some folks will go night night.
  12. I am a big Star Flyer fan, I ride the one at Magical Midway pretty often and always alone. Fun Spot is actually planning a Windseeker, it will do pretty well there. The flats are in the plan for a reason, I'm pretty sure they have it fugured out.
  13. ^It's looking promising so far for sure. It remains to be seen how well they can execute their total plan for the 20 million dollar price tag. The coaster is probably going to be a good to great ride, that's a pretty safe bet, but the flats have to be good too. The Gyro Loop will probably stay as well as a Screaming Swing, thats a decent start. I would love to see a Wave Swinger, love those things, and a carny drop tower, Cypress Gardens' was killer. A big flashy modern flat would help the cause too, A Streetfighter with a good long cycle would be bliss. I wonder if the waterpark being built is depending on the succsess of phase 1. I am looking forward to a 360 Rush. The notion of the smaller waterpark is appealing to me, I like the concept a lot. WIsh the place was mine.
  14. I watched the Prowler pov and thought the same thing, it's pretty twisty. Fun Spot's ride has a very GCI looking track, the crossovers and turn around look like their stuff, but it's still pretty straight forward out and back. The out and back part was no surprise as it was the best fit for the land but the structure was a surprise. Branching out is a good thing in present times but to me it's like a carpenter showing up with steel. This is not at all a complaint, I love the look of the ride for the park.
  15. Free Tilly! I'm probably the very first person ever to say that. Their only goal here was to move their agenda forward, which they did manage to do. I think they (PETA) mostly suck but this is already a big succsess for them. Put this in the hands of a judge and we are in scary territory. The case is something to loosely keep your eye on if you are a fan of the parks. The fact that, the argument that people and animals are to be equal as it pertains to captivity, made it to a court of law is not good news. It would be a hard case to win but it only takes the right judge at the right time.
  16. For a company that builds such beautiful wooden rides, this seems like somewhat of a departure from philosophy. I actually don't know what their philosophy is but it's surprising to me they are building with steel. The ride looks cool but I was expecting it to be all wood.
  17. That would be a bit freaky. I like Star Flyers, I think, but that is very high. It has a lot to do with the seats. I was within the first handful of people to ride the one here in Orlando and back then the seats were single and had a small belt and a chain as a restraint. Now the seats are much less exposed, with double seats a chest restaint and seat horn. The old ones felt like you would slide right off the front and that made it pretty scary.
  18. ^Perhaps. The Star Flyer is cool but the Slingshot is nothing compared to a Skycoaster, and a 260 footer is pretty good sized. Fun Spot will be the bigger draw for sure. The SF and SS are independent of Magical Midway so it will be interesting to see how they do. I would much rather see the Star Flyer next to that pretty little coaster at FS. WIndseeker looks a bit corporate if that makes sense. I saw another 360 Rush was being built, where is mine, start digging! Please.
  19. Hurricanes hardly ever hit Florida but it sure does come up a lot. The scale of the WIndseeker is good for their park and it's a very big capacity ride for a park that size. Oddly, on a busy day the Splash Rally could have the highest capacity. On that note, the waterpark rides look like a very good time, check em out if you haven't.
  20. ^ I will be a very regular visitor as well. I can see myself doing a thousand laps on this coaster, it looks like a solid ride. It is on the small side drop wise, anyone have a guess at top speed. Also, the ride looks Gravity Group, right? Would it not be a very big deal for GCI to build a hybrid, I know they are capable but would it be a departure from philosophy or anything?
  21. I just saw a report from Park Rumors, it says the coaster is a GCI but the model is steel structure. Has GCI ever built a hybrid? There is a good image of the coaster in their report. It also looks to say 65 feet high. Phase 2 is said to include a Windseeker. This apparently came from the Municipal planning meeting. http://parkrumors.com/fun-spot-expansion/
  22. I went down to Fun Spot for Paratroopering fun and noticed they have posted a small poster of the concept art for the expansion. The large ferris wheel is on top of the entrance building, not the current one but the new one. There is a large replica of the St Louis arc which functions as part of the Skycoaster. Rumor has it they will have a Statue of Liberty as well. Screaming Swing is there as well as 8 or so good sized flats. The flats are around a little pond. The small steel coaster is a family invert, I don't know the make but many of you would for sure, it looks familiar. The woodie is...not a GCI, looks to be a Gravity Group ride, it's a hybrid. The layout is what you would expect. It probably has an 80 foot drop that crosses over followed by 9 or so small airtime hills. The turn around and the turns in general look to be pretty banked and the coaster crosses over itself several times. The run into the corner of the lot really allows for a decent sized ride. You can see little Timberliners on this track for sure. I talked for a second with one of the guys and he added that the new go cart track could be open by summer. It will be good to see the construction starting. From a construction standpoint I was looking forward to seeing a GCI because they are just so nice looking but the hybrid looks like the right ride for Fun Spot. I heard a rumor some time ago that they were leaning hybrid but then all the GCI stuff came out. Either one would be great to have around here. What they have so far looks like a great local hangout, can't wait.
  23. Congrats to Intamin. El Toro is amazing.
  24. ^ More like 1% Terminator 1% Jaws and 98% On Golden Pond. Ok. Hate to be this guy but I got a bad feeling about Spidey. For reference see: Posiedens Fury. I think the characters look to real for a comic series. I thought they were simply going to make it more clear and maybe add a couple things. Of course they will have to upgrade the physical scenery and it will look amazing, it just won't look like Spiderman. I don't mind it being new, just don't make it worse. Not feeling this at all. The technology looks very cool but not for this ride IMO. Looking forward to a new track for some mini golfing though. This is going to be nice to have out there. City Walk is getting better and better, I think. See how I did that: a compliment sandwich except with complaining.
