Hurricane Harbor Polar Plunge
Guy T. Koepp replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey everybody! I am stepping up this challenge! Check out my thred in Random, Random, Random. Under Polar Plunge! Get a chance to have your name go down in history! Robb or Elissa, or ASSistants. Would it be too much to ask to sticky that thred so it dosn't get burried onto subsequent pages? Guy "Shamless attempt to get more money for Special Olympics." Koepp -
Alright peeps! I am sad to say that I am falling a bit short on my personal goal of monies for tha "Polar Plunge." I now am stooping to shameless tactics! I have been offered a nice sum of money to jump in tha freezing waters of Hurricane Harbor with nothing on but a speedo! If you donate to "Special Olympics" sponsoring Guy. I will write your name on my body in the location you desire and take it to the icy depths with me. Do remember, some of your names will be covered as they won't allow me to do this "IN THA NUDE!" Send me your check, and I will reserve a space on my body for you! I will PM you my address upon your acceptance of this once in a lifetime offer. Give it up peeps!

Awesome pictures guys! I so loved the time I spent at this park. I can't wait to get back. October can't get here soon enough. -
What do you want me to say? It just really sucked total ass. There was no airtime at all and it was rough as hell and the layout was boring. Seems that everyone else who has been on it who has responded to this thread thought the same also. But then again what do we know, Elissa and I have only been on what, 1,600 different coasters between the two of us? --Robb "I'm sure there will be people who will think it's god's gift to RCCA woodies, but to us it really really sucked!" Alvey Yes, but if you put that Dancers Ass onto the ride. I sure it would still suck. But you would be sitting next to a real nice Ass. Enough said. So far, Robb and Elissa havn't steered me wrong on a coaster yet. However, that F'ing fish ride at IOA that Robb soaked me on. That's another story. Oh, and I rode DCA's Tower on Friday with Don & Monica. I thought it was great! I think the pre stuff up to the Dropp was better at Dstudios. But the drop portion was better at DCA. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. So what have we learned from this thred? RCCA woodies suck! Unless you have a hot Ass chick in tha seat next to you. In which case, you should be riding something else and not tha coaster. The coaster will still suck! With a hot Ass chick, you can never go wrong. Guy "I'm spent." Koepp

Cool review Don! Had a great time with you and Monica at DCA on Friday. The footage looks awesome! Talk to ya bro! -
Where are you going today? Or is it tomorrow already? Or yesterday? Or... well... Where are you going in the next 24 hours? Your 24 hours, not my 24 hours. I know what I'm doing, and it's nothing to write a TR about. It's pretty boring in fact. But... well... uh... so when did you all adopt NG Tom? He seems to go everywhere with you. Speaking of NG Tom. You two are bad parents! First you let him get groped by mommy and the UK's reigning porn queen on your last trip. Now your sitting down and watching adult movies with him in your hotel room. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Can you adopt me? Please! Guy "Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Koepp

All joking aside. I remember this park real well. I loved the flume ride through the aviary. That fun house you mentioned was quite awesome. it had a great hall of mirrors. I also remember some miniature motorboats. They were on a track, but alot of fun. They had a great jumping fountain show out in the middle of the lake. It was a very pretty park. -

I believe the park was originally created for the employees familys. I could be wrong. But I remember hearing this from a friend of mine whose father worked there back in the early 70s. Or I could be full of it. -

I remember this place. It is just off the 405 freeway on Roscoe. You can't miss it Robb. It's to your right as you head South. You can still see where they had the hanging monorail along the front of the building. they now use it as tracking for ducts, pipe, conduit, etc. When we lived in Oxnard, my Dad would pack the family in tha station wagon and drive us there like once a month. He said it was a nice place to spend a Sunday. I think it was the bottle of beer they handed each adult as you exited the brewery monorail tour. He loved that tour. He would ride it all day. My Mom would take us to tha shows and the log flume as well as the aviary. My dad would just ride the brewery tour over and over. We'd leave about 6 or 7 in the evening and Mommy would take us across the street to the "Lucky Lady" and have us wait in the car as she went in and got Daddy. It must be real relaxing in there as my Mom would have to practically carry Dad out. I remember helping her shove Daddy into the trunk area so he could sleep. He always smelled funny. Daddy would wake up every now and then, smoke a cigarette, flick the burning ashes at us, and tell us that we were taking him away from the promised land. I wonder what he meant by that? Anyway, I remember it like it was yesterday. Good times, good times. Guy "Strollin' down memmory lane." Koepp -

^I agree! Dollywood realy does things right. I'm so glad they expanded this area. It used to just sort of wind up the hill to thunderhead and then just end. It will be nice to have a whole themed area. The ride looks awesome! When does it officially open? -

Cool TR! Your kids are adorable! The weather looks beautiful there. How was your winter this year? I havn't been to Cliffs since I was at the College of Santa Fe. 15 years now. Wow! It dosn't seem that long. I never got to ride the Rattler as it wasn't built way back then. I get out to ABQ about once a year to visit my mom. Unfortunately, she lives in Ruidoso, and we usually visit in the winter as the kids love tha snow. If I do my gig in Colorado this summer, I'm hoping to get my client to fly me out of ABQ so I can drive my rental down there and ride it. I'll give you a hollar if I do. It would be cool to meet you. This ride looks awesome! I hope this is the kind of family friendly thrill ride that Snyder wants to put onto Magic Mountain.
