What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
PhishyBrewer replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I was going to visit Popeye's Beer Club in Tokyo last Sunday to try some Japanese craft brews but after getting directions I realized they were closed on Sunday. So I just drank pretty normal stuff while in Japan. Kirin Brau Draft -
I've only been to Japan once, last week in March. I have know idea what April would be like, but I would have to think it might be slightly busy do to people coming to see the cherry blossoms. As for parks, I didn't do a whole lot of them. You might want to send a PM to Don aka Jeezus Juice or Elissa. A couple thoughts though; The next person that tells me Japan is expensive I'm going to slap them silly. I spent just about the same amount of money as if I vacationed somewhere in Southern California. And no, I wasn't the tallest person there either. Why do people say this? The area we were at was very clean, everyone was very polite and I never felt so safe in a large city. Definitely heading back there again. I just love it there and actually dreaded coming back to California.

More photos Just randomly thrown together Free beer... Yeah!!! Wait... but it's Budweiser. Just like Starbucks there is McDonalds. I can't eat McD's in the states because it makes me sick. But the Japanese food didn't bother me one bit. A slight difference in taste. The Big Egg where the Giants play and LaQua in the background. When you get off at Suidobashi your right in Tokyo Dome City where our hotel was at. So convenient. Would definitely stay there again. More shots of Shinjuku. I get off the train in Shinjuku and what's the first thing I notice... I huge Subaru neon. I knew I was going to love this place. Working on the free-fall at LaQua. A shot of our hotel. The Tokyo Dome Hotel BTW. I hate region coding. You can't find Wii's for sale in Japan either. DS's were even hard to find. I wanted this so bad. It was huge though. It was only about 17000 yen. So $150 or so in dollars. Power Rangers are 30 years old. Can you believe it? Not only can you get everything from a vending machine, but also claw machines. Akihabara aka Electric Town. Your electronics super city. Power Ranger show from the hotel elevator. Where isn't there a Starbucks? And yes, that's an Intamin coaster behind me. Thunder Dolphin and Big O in the day time. There was a weekend Power Rangers show near out hotel. I watched it from our hotel elevator. Looked pretty cool. Really not a whole lot to see. But it was only 400 yen. My next Subaru. The Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame The coolest vending machine I've ever seen. You send it a text message, it kicks out a drink and debits your bank account. Capt Jack Swallows The view from the top floor of our hotel. Japanese Budweiser, taste like the same crap we have here in the states. Depresso anyone? Felling EMO today? Another view. Outside our hotel and night. Thunder Dolphin and Big O at LaQua. The other angle. Another angle. The view from our hotel. The floor and window is upset that no one is being considerate of others. Aww... that cute suitcase is getting crushed. What?! Coke made with real sugar and not the corn syrup crap. Taste soooo good.

I didn't see anyone heading up Fuji. I'm sure there are some people that do it in the winter time, but not many. It's definitely on my list for when I go back. I'll start getting in shape tomorrow... or maybe next week. So I'm so out of it right now. I just called off of work. So I'll be posting more pictures shortly. Glad you guys enjoy them.

Fuji-Q or Fujikyu Highland When getting to this park I wasn't really to impressed with it, but after spending sometime there it really grew on me. Oh, and Eejanaika is AWESOME!!! It's so much better than X. Waiting for the train back. I still have tons more pictures. Will post more tomorrow. How bad is my picture? Washed it down with some orange Qoo. Tasty stuff! I LOVE Dodonpa Fireballs. There like Peanut Butter Crunch balls with a spicy seasoning. A somewhat decent shot of Mt Fuji. It was cold but not unbearable. Ice skating anyone? Fujiyama Not that bad of a ride. The cars shook like crazy though. Dodonpa flying around a turn. BTW... if your a deer, put your trash here. I also tried taking a picture of me with Mt Fuji with little success. I tried taking a picture of me and Ham-Ham with little success. It's freak'n 38 degrees outside... WHY? The park food is actually really good. My next tattoo. Yeah... I conquered Eenjanaika!!! The trains fly right by you while waiting in line. Upsidedown 14 times!!! I was laughing so much while riding I lost count. First I have to see if I'm tall enough to ride. Next up was Eenjanaika. This thing is bad ass!!! After Fujiyama we saw that Dodonpa had people riding so we ran over there. Takes forever to get through the line but it was worth it. I never felt so scared in my life. When we got there everything was closed or testing except Fujiyama. This is Dodonpa testing with Mt Fuji in the background. The train drops you off right at the ticket window. One of our stops on the way up. Try saying that five times fast. It was a little chilly heading up there. Hot coffee out of a vending machine warmed my hands right up. Anything you want or need while in Japan can more than likely be found in a vending machine. Funny ass train that went up to the Fuji rec area. You can get almost anywhere in Japan by rail. Even Fuji-Q. It might look confusing, but once you figure everything out you'll love it.

Ahh... Disney Sea. My favorite Disney park. So much detail through out the park makes this place very special and very different than any other Disney Park. Thanks for checking out my pics. I'll be adding Fuji-Q Highlands and Eejaniaka photos shortly. The Hotel MIRACosta The fountain and the entrance of the park. The park entrance and more of MIRACosta. This place is awesome!!! More of the Italian section. A small section of the Hotel MIRACosta. I'm definitely heading to Japan again next March 2008. But the wife will be going with me for sure. I had fun, but would of had more fun if she was there with me. No offense Don. So apparently they have a holiday like Valentines day that last month in Japan. Journey was pretty cool. I just wish it was a little longer. Sun setting in the Mermaid Area. A look across the water in the Arab section. The carousel in the Arab section of the park. The Electric Railway Look at the American Waterfront section from the Electric Railway. Was getting a little hungry, so I thought I'd have a little bite off of the Columbia. Goof'n off in the illusion room. One of those pendulum clock things. I forgot section this was. Look across to the Italian section of the park. Look across to TOT. Oh yeah, it was Disney Sea's 5th Anniversary. What did they do at DCA for it's 5th? The volcano going off about every 45 minutes or so. Very cool effect. You can hear anywhere in the park. And when your near it you actually fell the ground shake. The Nautilus Me with my WTF? face on Aguatopia. Aquatopia Uh oh... looks like there's a leak. Black Pepper Popcorn... my favorite. After a beer and RS, things got a little goofy. My 100th coaster. Photoshop 100 sign here. Rage'n Spirits Kirin draft baby!!! Mmm... I like this park. Little fountain outside of TOT. This was the last photo I got before riding. They were really strict about taking photos before the pre-ride. And the reason I though TOT suck, you go up twice come down twice and that's it. To short of ride for me. The ride is themed very well. And the pre-show is awesome. We ran to the fast pass when the park opened then got in line. But didn't even use the fast pass. Why? I had better things to do. Just like at Disneyland, the fast pass line was longer than the stand by line. The first ride of the day was Tower of Terror.

Was out in Japan last week and hit up a couple parks. Not as many as you would think because I wanted to do some site seeing more than anything. But anyway, on with the photos. Enjoy!!! Thanks for reading. I will be posting Disney Sea pics shortly. And why I hate Japan's Tower of Terror ride. One cool thing though, you could get milk shakes on the island. Creepy island that smelled like a kitty litter box. Hanging out at Tom Sawyes's Island. Splash Mountain... 45 minute stand by line, 60 minute fast pass line. I don't get it. Credit number 99 for me. Gadget's Go Coaster. The loading area for It's a Small World is HUGE. But it's a lot better than waiting in the hot sun. Why... I don't know why? I just felt like I had to do it. Looks like I'll have to come back next year. Also closed for refurb was Space Mountain. Time for more popcorn. This time Curry flavor. Closed sign Pirates and the whole New Orleans section was closed for refurb. I didn't understand a whole lot, but she was pretty damn good. I just laughed when everyone else did. It made it more enjoyable. After that we thought we'd hit up the Jungle Cruise. It's probably my favorite Disney ride. How bad can it be in Japanese. After having some popcorn we took the train around the park. Nothing to special. Then we headed up the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House where you can see the main gate and Tokyo in the distance. No Dole Whip, but they did have Chocolate Popcorn which smelled like fresh baked cookies. We later came across the Tiki Room. Which in Japan it sounds like the Cheaky Room. No sign of Dole Whips here. After that we got some food. Had some Japanese Chicken Curry which was really good. And only cost about 500 yen. I can't believe how much the girls there wanted to say hi to us while we were there. American in Japan = Movie Star Status. So the line to the right is a 45 minuter line for TMR fast passes. The line to the left is for leather bracelets. And the line for TMR is 30 minutes. I don't get it. The first ride of the day was Pooh, which was AWESOME!!! After that we hit up Thunder Mountain. Big Pimp'n, Spread the Cheese! Finally... a castle larger than the one I just saw in California. I got a two day park ticket. First day at Disneyland and the second at Disney Sea. It cost a 10000 yen, which if you do the math it's cheaper than Disney in the states. Waiting in line to get my ticket. Michael Jackson was in town while I was there. I don't know if he was going to be there or not, but the park was packed for a Wednesday. Tokyo Disneyland!!! Can you guess what park I'm heading to first? Probably the easiest and most efficient way of getting around in Japan is by rail. Highly recommend it over renting car.

I had five tattoos before he even had one. But honestly, I got this tattoo to cover up the scar from my motorcycle accident.

So the wife wanted to get a tattoo today but didn't know exactly what she wanted to get. So I got one instead.

^It's really not odd. Togo made tons of these. Just how Vekoma has tons of those damn SLC and Boomerang coasters.
