  1. SF is not up, either 2017 or 2018 on a comp same park basis as a whole. But, the details are lost on people.
  2. Likely announce a new area, which is what Wonderland did. https://www.canadaswonderland.com/blog/august-2018/canada%E2%80%99s-wonderland-to-officially-open-frontier-canada-in-2019
  3. Whatever park you buy from for 2019 is where you have to process it. So, if you buy off of SFGAdv website you have to process it there. Since, all gold passes have the same benefits at all parks, they don't want people just going to the site and buying at the parks that sell them the cheapest that are nowhere near where the person lives and isn't their actual closest (home)SF park. FYI, many benefits from 2018 Gold Passes bought during last years fall sale are now just gold plus membership benefits. SF grandfathered those passes in 2018, but the new list of benefits chart is different for gold passes. If you value those extras yu might end up having to get a membership, which is about $30 to $40 more on annual basis.
  4. If it’s the actual announcement, I would expect nothing more than kings islands announcement. I think it will be tony’s Normal “to do list” which for years included “call RMC” Yes, It could be a small addition in 2019 with a bunch of cryptic stuff that leads to everyone analyzing every word to try to figure out what's happening in the future. A year of TC getting to play with enthusiasts minds for what's coming in 2020, starting today.
  5. I think with the last tweet and the beginning to write on a new chapter tweet it's a announcement of several things leaving, but the new replacements not announced. Could be the long expected Dinos leaving, maybe Snake River, or Cedar Creek. Then, the spaces will be vacant all of 2019 while they pull another were doing construction, but won't announce it officially until 2020 ride announcements. Just my theory
  6. Interesting all the group think that it's a dark ride. Those have not been very popular wen CFhas put them in..Iron Reef, Plants vs Zombies, Mass Effect all had no lines when I visited those parks the last 2 years. Those rides are all pretty knew added in 2015 and 2016 and are not drawing riders.
  7. That is the biggest nonsense award ever given to them. I have visited 8 CF parks of the 11 and all were cleaner than SFGAm. Then there are places like Dollywood and BGW, etc..
  8. They won't do it this year, but it's not at all out of the realm of possibity in the future. They did HITP at SFNE last year and are starting it at GAm this year.
  9. So maybe I'm biased from growing up with the awfulness that was the Ninja, but when they did the track work and replaced the trains to convert Ninja into Blue Hawk, the coaster literally moved up 300 spots in my steel ranking list. Yes, there are still a couple spots where if you aren't careful you might smack your head back into the headrest, but overall I have found it to be infinitely improved over what it used to be and what most Arrow & Vekoma looper experiences are. DDD isn't my cup of tea, personally, but I do think it's by far the smoothest of the Eurofighter coasters (even if it has the worst ops/capacity). It's not an overly extreme ride, but I find it to be generally enjoyable provided I don't have to wait more than 15-20mins for it (which is rare due to the aforementioned awful ops/capacity). Other than that, I generally agree with the rest of your review. SFOG is a quiet gem with a lot of really great rides. My personal thoughts on SFOG's ride collection: Goliath: top-3 B&M hyper (w/ Mako & Diamondback) MindBender: best steel coaster built before 1980 (if not 1990) Twisted Cyclone: best RMC (IMHO, even though I know most people are drinking the Steel Vengeance Kool-Aid) GA Scorcher: top-2 Stand-Up (w/ Riddler's Revenge at SFMM) Batman: an excellent cloned model that holds its own with the best of the inverts DDD: best Eurofighter Blue Hawk: best Vekoma sit-down looper (& in the convo w/ TN Tornado, which is my favorite Arrow looper) Superman: best US flying coaster (has the terrain interactions the other clones lack; Tatsu just floats about aimlessly above the trees; Manta is good but I think Superman edges it out) GASM: can go die in a fire. the most boring wooden coaster I've ridden outside of CGA's Grizzly. No airtime. No laterals. No 'classic nostalgia'. Just pointlessness. Mine Train: meh. Justice League: I've had worse luck on this one than any of the others, and it doesn't have an externally-accessible single rider line, which sucks Joker: best family coaster I've seen at a SF park Acrophobia: very good drop tower (if you can get over the uncomfortable seating position) Monster Mansion: stay out of the marsh. STAY OUT OF THE MARSH!! OH NOOOOOO!!!!!!!! You should havestopped at maybe I am biased. Goliath Top 3 B&M hypers? Twisted Cyclone the best RMC? Not even close, not even top 5, around 8 or 9. DDD best eurofighter? LOL! Superman v=best flyer? Again..lol. Tatsu is many times better. GA Scorcher top-2 Stand-Up (w/ Riddler's Revenge at SFMM)? Green Lantern as Gadv is better, there aren't many stand ups left. I won't go thru the rest but, the SFOG rose colored grasses are glaring. Can you even see straight with the distortion they are creating.
  10. The park is always busy now, Tuesday or not. Went last Tuesday and got on 12 rides all day. Fast Lane Plus is essentially required at Wonderland to have a good day.
  11. It says new ride. If it were a refresh I doubt theyd word it that way. Best bet for the park is they are getting a flat like a Skywarp, Skyscreamer, etc.. Hopefully SF also gets all the coasters up to 2 train ops with the repairs or whatever needs to be done. Throw in possibly the start of some DC theming changes.
  12. The last week of August is typically relatively light in the past ...15 min or less for everything, but Maverick back up to 30min midday rush. I go to the park this week every year. FL+ was not needed in the past. I will be using FL+ one day this time to utilize the free one for my 2019 platinum renewal. That will be a marathon of Steel Vengeance day, with a some Maverick and TTD on the side. If you're going to renew for 2019 do it now and use the free FL+ on this trip.
  13. It's hilarious fanboys are still on the debunked Mack going to SFMM notion.
  14. That's a cut and paste email from every Six Flags park. It does confirm that SF is including DL in their announcements.
  15. All very true. It's just a shame that a park with so much land wasn't owned by a chain that would want to and can invest the money.
  16. 65% off the "list price" is what they stated in the latest newsletter... Figure $0.25-$1.50 less per month than what they currently list at basically... All SF list prices are inherently bogus. Nobody actually pays the $250 list gold pass price b/c it's always a fake sale for it being a high % off so it's like $85 and then flash sale it's like $65. Memberships pricing is just like passes, there is always a fake sale, it's currently 58% to 63% off. It's actually the price they have always had it at. Memberships have never been included in flash sale, they have kept it at the always fake discount price, which is the standard price in actuality.
  17. It's not a "sexy addition", but I would love if every CF park had a Harmony Hall Marketplace like Carowinds. This does not appear to be of that scale, but I do like CF has been greatly improving the dining locations at many parks.
  18. The pricing is not the same. It's not $65, which is what Gold Passes during flash at many parks. Parks like Stl, NE, OG, Escape all had Gold Flash sale prices of $54, the lowest memberships at those parks is now $7.25 to 7.99 which means $87 to $96 per year cost. It's another 12/yr unless people choose a $20 deposit. So it's potentially $99 to $108 for what the same benefits as a gold pass in 2018 for a 2019 membership. The second group of parks which had flash sale prices at $64 to $67, OT, FT, GAm, GAdv have their lowest membership now at $7.85 to $8.40 which means $94 to $101 per year cost. Without the deposit they go up to $106 and $113 per yea cost. Memberships are a brilliantly designed massive price hike on previous Gold Pass benefits, disguised by a small monthly payment instead of a lump sum. It will be interesting to see how many people figure it out it's around a $35 up to $55 price increase from the sale prices for 2018 season passes. For now FOMO appears to be prevailing. I was at SFFT and SFOT and was talking to people waiting for rope drop. They never calculated it out, they were enticed by the monthly not realizing how much more they were paying until I started talking to them.
  19. They already announced on their website.
  20. The memberships marketing is partially about FOMO. For the lower memberships they are trying to get you to pay significantly more for stuff you already were getting with a gold pass. The marketing of FOMO on this starts with the red cups instead ofthe purple ones. No reason to have them other than to show "I'm part of exclusive group supposedly." It's not like the other cups where colors denote all season vs pay for refill. The 2nd layer is the membership lanyard which you notice people seem to all wear while a lot less wear lanyards for season passes. There are a bunch of other things that are just about the appearance of exclusivity with none or small practical meaning in many cases on park experience.
  21. There is always 2020, 2021, etc... for WOF..LOL!
  22. Ya figured as much. I saw that rewards program announcement too in that email.....looks like they're rolling it out as a test now and then will go live with it next season......I don't really care much about discounts cuz we don't buy stuff really at the park - we already have the dining passes so our visits are essentially free - but offering skip the line passes as a reward would be good..... The tracking rides for points seems like it will be a nightmare unless SF makes major investments in a automated scanner system..ie..how CP does it for fast lane on Steel Vengeance. The scanner system could incorporate the skip line passes for members too. Currently people have to go to get paper passes from guest services.
  23. Cedar Fair flash sale on passes Aug 16 thru 19th. Renewals just $1 more than 2018 for Platinum. All Cedar Fair park dining just $3 more. CF as mentioned on their conf call are testing different payment plans. The payment plans options differ by park. Quick scan of some parks shows Cedar Point is 8 payments, Carowinds, KI, KD, KB, CA offer 11 and Wonderland 12 payment plan
  24. The lowest level membership person is paying about $30 more for what the 2018 grandfathered Gold season pass person pays. Memberships are largely a cleverly disguised big price increase. So, yes they have to make it seem worth paying more fro what you have been getting for a lot less with a gold pass, but won't anymore. The gold pass perks, discounts, etc,, have virtually all been moved to memberships, except free parking.
