  1. ^Someone's hitting that submit button mighty fast. Hmm, but that's just what you can tell from the concept art, right? I mean, that could be accurate, but then again maybe it's just the fault of the artist. I don't see why they would mess with the banking like that. I guess we'll only be able to tell whether it's been changed or not when they start building it.
  2. Meh, from what I've heard of the plot, it doesn't sound all that interesting. Of course, 3 sentences can hardly describe a movie that has yet to be filmed. Anyways, it doesn't even sound like this movie will be all that much about theme parks as it is about another loser guy trying to overcome his problems and getting hooked up with a chick along the way.
  3. It sounded like it was the exact same thing. Maybe SF just bought it after GCII gave up with WWW?
  4. ^How is it different? Looks exactly the same to me.
  5. ^Yeah, but then again this ride is a clone, but at least it's a really good clone. I think I hate the name and theme more every time I hear about it. I mean, it wouldn't be so bad if this was some sort of steel coaster that did tricks, or even a wooden coaster with some allusions or something, but as it is, it's just tacky and lame. Honestly, any animal name would have worked better. Badger: the ride, would have been cute.
  6. Wow, excellent video, and the photos aren't bad either. I don't know if you've been before or not, but if you haven't you've really got to get out there for Christmas, especially this year. The light show on the main square is supposed to be absolutely amazing, and if you think the park was pretty then, you should see it decked out in lights.
  7. ^Quite true, but my point still stands: if they do plan right, there should be an earnest amount of hope that WWW can be a viable business yet. There are ways to keep a park open in the winter though, even if it doesn't involve so many rides.
  8. Geez, I'm starting to think there must be some sort of massive rider size factor with MM. Many come off loving it and not experiencing any roughness, while many other claim to have been nearly beaten to death on it. Is it the smaller framed people that are having more trouble with it?
  9. Ugg, I don't like the theme, and I don't want to hear the name, but I'm very pleased if it is indeed a Thunderbird clone. I've always thought Thunderbird looked like one of the best woodies out there.
  10. Very cool photos, but that hog looks less than appetizing for some reason, maybe it's the head coated with dribbles of baked-on blood. yeah, something about seeing the whole animal like that freaks me out a little, but I'll bet it tastes marvolous.
  11. ^Well then, here's hoping for another Troy. That's a clone I could hope for.
  12. After having watched Branson USA be turned into the awesomeness that is CC, I'm really excited to see what happens to WA. After a Herschend re-vamp, this park is going to be a must-stop on the way to Florida. It would kind of be interesting if they took the Boomerang or the SLC out of WA and moved it up to CC, then put something better in at WA.
  13. She, like so many of the people in the comedy biz, tries way to hard to shock people into a laugh rather than do anything genuinely funny. When she isn't following the outrage fad, however, she can be pretty funny. Ah, remember Looney Tunes? No attempts to gross people out, no going to extremes to be somehow hysterical, no making idiotic racial slurs in a joking matter, just a well-applied dose of hard knocks and funny jokes. What happened to shows like that? Why does everyone have to follow the same fads to be funny?
  14. Parks America obviously reviewed the business plan, did their homework and realized what the former owners did not, this park is not a viable option in this case. Rather than invest in what would become a financial black hole, they wisely backed out. good for their shareholders. by next spring WWW should be nothing more than a large crater in the earth. Kevin Long Fat old guy I don't see why though. I mean, the park obviously needs work and some extra investments to get it up to par, but there was obviously a huge amount of interest in it. Just look at how many people bought season passes. In fact, I'm pretty sure the park would have lived on for a while even with it's abhorid business plans if it hadn't have rained so much. I don't remember hearing them ever say they were backing out on it either. Actually, they said they planned to have a hard bid in before the deadline.
  15. Meh, I hope not. It looks neither all that fun or thrilling compared to everything else out on the market. It reminds me of that Caprio creation where there were 4 seats set in a circle that spun around slowly as they went along a dull, gradually sloping track. It was inventive, yes, but not practical or as fun as other options.
  16. But how reliable a rumor is this? Anyone think WOF has a shot at getting Dominator? It's a pretty wild hope, but if they are indeed going to move it, why not?
  17. Surely PA will come through though. I mean, they wouldn't go through all this to not put a good bid on the park. I'm pretty confident WWW will live on, and I'm still hoping they change the name.
  18. I doubt it. CF was wrong to give into such foolishness back then, but I don't think they'll fall for it again this time around. Besides, if anyone wants to complain, they should start with the frightfests.
  19. Why does it matter what other parks are like? I don't believe that a park has to have one of every type of coaster, or have some unspecified ratio of coaters to flats, parks should just concentrate on bringing in good rides. A good woodie would fit in fine. It's true that there are benefits to havening a diverse ride line-up, but there's still room for another woodie at practically any park, they're just too awesome.
  20. Uh oh, maybe we're looking at another Rumbler/OzCat? Not that that's bad, it's just that CC has enough competition as it is, I wouldn't want another park stealing the only real thunder it has.
  21. I've always wondered how these things get inspected, but what a turd way to do it. I sure wouldn't want to have only those little bars to hold onto 200ft in the air.
  22. So I'm probably missing something here, but why does everyone assume this will be a woodie? I really hope it is one, but it just seems like everyone is just jumping to a popular, unfounded conclusion. I mean, it could be a woodie, but it could also be plenty of other things for all most people can reasonably tell. Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but false hopes are never fun in the end.
  23. It turns out SDC has looked at proposals on adding a woodie recently, though in an unlikely spot. It seems to me that that speaks volumes about what they'll do in 2009, as if everyone hasn't already guessed that.
  24. Actually, now that I think about it, wouldn't it make more sense to gut CG of most of it's rides and promote the gardens up-front? They could keep the woodies and a handful of rides on the side, and lose a great deal of their operating costs while still being a delightful road-side stop and local attraction. I just don't see the Herschends trying to compete with Disney World or Busch Gardens.
  25. ^Arg... So the rumors were true. Well, the Herschends know what they're doing, I just hope they don't end up throwing their money in a pit with CG. I can see them really diversifying the place though with some shopping and live entertainment, not to mention loads of thematics; that could enable it to live. You would? Really? Easy on Shavethewhales. He just lost Bells this year. Closest thing for him is Frontier City. Yeech! Yeah, this place would have pwned Bell's (at least as it was when it closed). Right now I have only a Scwartzkopf looping star to ride unless I want to make a road trip.
