  1. Blue Diamond Streak @ Blue Diamond Park, New Castle, De, 40 miles.
  2. Afraid I lack the required skill & equipment. But I'll see if I can velcro my little Canon SD200 to my shirt (probably won't work on the zipper since even the change in my cargo pockets came out and hit me in the head). Concussion = good ride!
  3. We came, we saw, I conquered. My husband had trouble keeping down his Thrasher's Thanks for the Avalanche info. Basically it's a baby Falling Star, there is/was one at Beech Bend Park. They ran the Zipper pretty wild. The Haunted House was great, but again, a number of scenes weren't working (I miss the water effect). Hoping that's because it's March, but a couple Wild Mouse movements and the disconcertingly unstable tilt of the tracks helped make up for what's missing in spots. Any history buff should ride the Herschell-Spillman Carousel inside too - classic - so many critters to choose from, but nothing tops the hopping frog. I have to second the recommendation for the Haunted House @ Rehoboth's Funland. Their suspended cars are cool. Rehoboth Beach is pretty cool in general, but for sunning, dining, bar-hopping, charming downtown shopping, and major outlet shopping on the highway, not rides.
  4. POVs with track noise & screams. Of course, that makes it immediately an 'R' rating if you follow US MPAA rules. Some park video, perhaps with music, would be nice to give a feel for the setting. And if you have any, rather than limiting it to just coasters, an occasional flat video might be nice - thinking of the Chaos POV from Britain. Individual discs might be nice, grouped by region.
  5. Back up for 2006. Heading down to Trimper's. Have to have funnel cake to supplement the Thrasher's though. The Haunted House, Zipper, and Tilt-a-Whirl are definitely working (I'm seriously jonesing & Great Adventure's opening is 2 wks away). So is something they call Avalanche, which isn't listed on TPC's site. Anyone have any idea what that is? They already have a Matterhorn & Himalaya, and they've always called their toboggan ride Tobaggan.
  6. I'm not sure it'll be THAT busy. Certainly busier than a normal "high of 56" opening day. That average is colder than the end of Fright Fest. I imagine some people who have 2 tickets will go alone, others in combination with friends will end up with leftovers, the weather will put some off at the last minute, others will have grabbed them just because they're free but decide against it (still has a $15 parking fee), some who might have paid to go will get ticked off they missed out on a freebie, some enthusiasts may stay home to avoid unanticipated lines. I've read the link was posted on some "Free Stuff" sites and some folks signed up without realizing it was only for SFGAdv. And even if everyone with tickets goes, it's still only 15,000 extra a day, when the park's average daily attendance seems to be much higher. ------------------ edit: checked - based on 166 operating days and 2.9 million attendance last year, the average was only 17,500 a day. But I bet they consider capacity much higher than that.
  7. That is horrible! . Not to be a pushy witch, but it would be better to have a warning that it is not for animal lovers or the faint of heart. I can't believe they would allow that on television.
  8. We drove up from central Delaware to NYC Saturday FOR the record setting blizzard there, but not too much problem driving back on Sunday. 3 cheers for road crews!
  9. Thanks for the welcome s2pids2 - I'm really glad I found the site! Love your animation avatar.
  10. Erin from Delaware. Practically grew up in the old Playland in OC, and very near Trimper's. Had a bad experience riding my first "big" coaster while coming down with a stomach flu, and only rediscovered coasters while accompanying a friend to a season pass holder's night at SFGAdv. Equidistant between SFGA & SFAm but planning trips to other parks now too. I'd still have to choose the Jekyll & Hyde Pub in Greenwich Village over an amusement park. But a Haunted House vs. an amusement park would be a tough call. Loving the site and the videos in preparation for the season, but I'll take sphynx kitties over donkeys anyday.
  11. Vegas Movie Studio is beautiful and pretty powerful, but it won't import Quicktime .mov files and only audio from .avi files. Thinkig about Easy Media Creator or MyDvd. Has anyone tried loading either into those?
  12. May I have "Torture Lady" ? Thank you!
  13. Is there affordable software for Windows that will import Quicktime (like from a digital camera)? Neither Windows Movie Maker nor Vegas will.
