  1. I'm kind of disappointed,, Just read the tweets from Tony and CP about the announcement of an announcement of an announcement, followed by a kind-of-farewell-looking Magnum video. So I made a kettle of pop corn and got ready for the hype here and - NOTHING? I'm in the mix between being worried and proud of you all!
  2. What @AmyUD06 says. With our short time window, Flying Turns and Impuls ate the most of our time. It was (on a hot summer saturday) easily 45-60 minutes each. If the Turns are running and you want to do that for sure, scratch that off your list first. Same for Impulse. Twister can have a long line, too - but it's moving constantly, especially if they are running two trains. On my visit, in the morning was one train and we had more then half an hour of wait. Later, there were two trains. We started walking in the exact same sport as earlier, but waited only 15 minutes. It's definitely worth it. The Phoenix line is no line like you know it. The last four trains before we had our first ride were in and out of the station in 30 seconds each. They are incredibly fast. So don't worry if the line spills out of the station here. If you're not sure if you want to do a ride or not, do it. Every ride we did was incredibly better then comparable rides elsewhere. Even the antique cars. Go for the Whipper. I'm sorry, I can't stop raving about this park.
  3. I have to second what Bert says. We've tried the very same, been there on a July saturday around opening and had to leave in the afternoon due to already existing bookings. We had two rides on Phoenix, two on Twister, one on Flying Turns and Impulse and missed out on 80% of the flats. And we were riding/queueing/eating nonstop. No time for looking at the beauty of the park. There is no way to do everything on a holiday weekend in five to six hours. Even without rerides. You'll have to make an importance list and work that down. Please put Phoenix, Twister and Flying Turns on top. Our plan for our next visit it arriving early at day one, stay somewhere an leave on day two when we are done.
  4. That's one of the best news possible!
  5. I don't know if there are official numbers, but here's an interesting article about the launch. Maybe someone can elaborate! https://www.powermotiontech.com/hydraulics/accumulators/article/21883506/want-thrills-go-with-hydraulics
  6. Some CFO and their assistants will tell you that it also needs to be way more reliable and way cheaper in operations for being further a part of the Cedar Fair coaster lineup. Especially in times when power sources are getting more and more expensive and said ride is - outside of the coaster geek community - constantly making negative news in terms of accidents and downtime. Don't get me wrong, I'm terribly in love with TTD. But I see why there is a big chance I will never ride it again, even if it's going to be open again some day.
  7. I paid our two hotel room via Mastercard at arrival and paid surely everything we bought in the park the same way. Perhaps not all food stalls accept them, but most will do.
  8. You may eat anything at Rutmor's. It's great food and nothing like normal park food. We had almost everything there over the course of the years.
  9. I've ner had particularly bad food anywhere at Phantasia. There's everything. Asian, French, Amreican, German. Full food, sweets and snacks. Most time at parks, we are snacking through the day and have a full meal after park close. Just go for anything you like - it will most likely be good! P.S.: If you like, we can male a meetup at Holiday Park - just contact us. We're pretty busy in September, but maybe it will work out for us!
  10. Funny. This was the very reason we booked it. At first, we didn't really sum up the single prices. We we're on our first US vacation and knew that we had one spare day between DC and a NASCAR race in Kentucky. KI was on the way and we just wanted to get sure to get everything done, not to worry about food and drinks and parking. As the price for the AIO ticket was just a bit over entrance and FL+, we knew that parking, food, drinks and pics were basically for free. I'm not sure how the price difference would be as of today, but if the AIO ticket is still a thing, I would highly recommend to do the math and evaluate. EDIT: Just checked. AIO is not available at all days - but when it is, it's still a valid option. You get admission (50 $), FL+ (95 $) and preferred parking (35 $) for 199 $. So you eat and drink almost for free all day and get Funpics. I would consider that every day just for having not to worrs about anything. Not the big steal we had back in the days, but still good. Also, there is something like a VIP lounge. I don't know what that is.
  11. We ate there before our first day at Cedar Point in 2017. So good, Such nice people. Had us seated within minutes, even if they were overcrowded with a family meeting, but helped us because outside was pouring rain and we were already soaked. Love them.
  12. Photo trip report from Erse Park, October 3rd 2021 After a long time in the pipeline, I finally completed this trip report! We were in the Hannover region, visiting friends, when we thought of hitting some park. As Heide Park would have been too much for us - and we thought of seeing a new park anyway - our friend brought us to Erse Park. To WHAT, you may think? Yes, it isn't even in the TPR park directory - but it has a roller coaster and a boat jump. At the end of the day, we were so glad that we did hit this gem! In Erse Park, most of the rides don't have any operators! You start them yourself with hitting a button or buzzer, pulling a rope or else! This is awesome, as our kids, 1.5 and 3.5 years then, could ride whatever they wanted. In most of the rides, they were able to climb the rides and start them themselves. Only the bigger rides, as the boat ride, the raft or the coaster, had operators. We started our day at the caveman exhibit: After that, we hit the monorail, which gives you a ride through the whole park so you can get a look what you want to do: Directly at the exit of the monorail, you find the boat ride with sharks and dinosours. As you know, PAul loves boats, so this was a huge hit: Next ride were the tractors, which you started, powered and steered by yourself: In the middle of the park is a fun fair section, where you can ride some smaller things: Just at that time, the parks steam engine started it's tour, which we joined: The next ride on our trip were the powered bobsleds. It was my first time on a powered one - and it was awesome! After our ice cream break we passed a mirror cabinet: And finally came to the raft ride. That was a lot more fun then expected! At the far end of the park was the horde ride. This is a real hit with the kids, as they can enter and start the ride themselves, so Paul was cought by that one for quite some time: Meanwhile, Emma found her happy place on a forklift (that you also operated by yourself): After I rode the boat jump ride for the first time (awesome!), Paul tried a electric zip line. You had to seat your kid an hit a button. Then the seat below the wire was elevated and speeded to the far pole and came back. Paul rode about ten times - happy! PXL_20211003_135433666.mp4 The we tried the coaster. It was quite bumpy, so Paul was done after one ride. Too bad. Shortly after and right before closing time, we found the Flintstone Cars! They were selfoperated and a lot of fun, as they had asymmetrical axles. PXL_20211003_143010049.mp4 All in all, it was a great day a so much better then we expected! This park is a real hit and everyone should give it a shot! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed our trip report!
  13. I cansecond that. We had one day with FL+ and rode everything as much as we wanted, plus having a nice sitdown lunch, had time to stroll through the park and enough spare time for all the smaller rides we would have skipped because we stood in lines. We had an All-In-One-Ticket with food, drinks, FL+, parking and more perks. It was definitely worth it as we had not to worry about anything with a reasonable price.
  14. Biggest pile of crap feat. the former fastest and tallest coaster of the world?
  15. We have to hand back the compliment! It was a pleasure to spend the time with you!
  16. Have fun and let us know how your days have been. You can't do a wrong decision with the hotels!
  17. The good thing is: In the parks itself, this clientele isn't noticeable. They are only loud in the internets. Honestly - if some people can't stand loud teenagers in amusement parks, they shouldn't visit at all or plan to go on times, when loud teenagers aren't supposed to be there. This advice can be transferred to every obnoxious demographic group.
  18. Everything Bert said is one hundred percent correct. If you see the park for the first time - and maybe the last time for some years - don't go for one day. It is a two day park at every time of the year, in every weather. We have been there multiple times one day (with the knowledge to be back with a three hour drive evera time we want). But our last visit with 2.5 days onsite was so different. We will never be there for one single day again. An idea for you, if your schedule is tight: Arrive at day one, stay onsite, leave late on day two. This is the only option.
  19. Mammut @ Tripsdrill (empty queue photo) with Robb and Bert!
  20. A second day will be a definitive win for you, no matter how awesome your first day will be. Period.
  21. If you want to enjoy the whole park, you have to be there at rope drop and don't leave until it closes. If you want to doe the wildlife park, plan an additional day. There is mostly no ride, that isn't quirky or funny. Just do them all. the Bathtub is a real must. Also, there's a drop tower thing looking like a tree next to Hals-über-Kopf. That's really a gem! As for the first thing, I would do Volldampf first. It had by far the longest queues when I visited the park the last time. Hals-über-Kopf was a ten minute wait at maximum on a holiday weekday. Karachon can get up to 45 minutes all day. Mammut should be not longer then 20 minutes. You can run to the back to Karacho first, but the front of the park will surely be slammed by noon. So just hit that first in the morning and return in the afternoon. If it will be a rainy day, cloth yourself up and prepare for empty trains on open rides. Then you hit the jackpot.
  22. Easy to answer. For F.L.Y., I refer to my last trip report. The loose article policy is stricter than a sports bra. You have to do everything in a locker before the final queueing undergruond. If you have anything (read: ANYTHING) in your pocket at security check, you'll be sent around the corner to your locker (EVERY rider gets a mandatory own locker), put your things in, and have to rejoin the queue at the end. There are no exceptions for zippered pockets or else. For all other rides, it's pretty loose. There are rotating lockers for each train at Black Mamba, Taron and Raik (and maybe some other rides I don't remember) or you can leave them at the floor in the station or even take them with you. But on all other rides, you'll have zero problems with zippered pockets.
  23. ^^ there shouldn't be any difference what you hit first. I'll promise you that the park is a lot bigger then it looks, you#ll walk 10 to 15 minutes from Wodan to Arthur if you are alone and speed up. If you are in the hotel, just go for Wodan first and Blue Fire second. Normally, Wodan gets the longer line. Additionally, I recommend Wodans front row for your first ride. It's one of the coasters were the visuals are a lot more amazing in the front row. But the last row left will give you the best forces everywhere. For Blue Fire, opt directly for the last row, left seat. Wait should be moderate. Last time I visited the park, the virtual line only was available for Voletarium. It would be great if they extended it to other rides. The ride with one of the longest wait times (but with one of the most enjoyable queue lines) will be Eurosat. Consider this for your morning plans.
  24. Hi there. If weather is good, stand by waiting will be around 30-45 minutes. Row 2 will be an additional 20-30 minutes, row 1 more than 30 extra minutes. It will be the whole day like that. If the park will have an extended opening (e.g. 10 pm), you may get more lucky after 8 pm. If you are in the stand by line, you may choose freely up from row 3. The last row will have an additional wait of two to four trains. A train is sent out every three to five minutes. My wife and me love Wickie Splash and the setting makes it a must ride, if you like these rides. It's one of the best log flumes I know. If the boat is fully loaded, you get a decent amount of airtime in the double down. Pro tip: If you can afford it - and want to - go for the express pass. Usually, no one does this and it guarantees you a direct drop intop the station and free choosing of rows. As for downtime - @KBrylczyk - it was reliable last year. If it ran. Means: Either it was down all day or running all day. Downtimes during the day were rare.
  25. Do you have first hand informations if single rider lines and quick pass are back in the game?
