  1. Depends on the unit itself. Of everyone I know personally with a 360 (myself and 3 others), every one of us have been hit with the RRoD. Myself twice, another person twice, one person once, and one person 4 times (!) before he finally sold his and bought a PS3. And we all had various units throughout this (All were purchased fairly far apart from each other, and 2 units were shipped to/from microsoft for refurb, 2 were taken in via Best Buy's extended warranty which yielded a newer units) I've never had a problem with my PS3. Never had a game fail on me, nor bluray movies. It's (surprisingly) a damn good machine. There are parts that make me say its leaps and bounds above the 360 (user-replaceable hard drive that doesn't cost an arm and a leg more than it should, any bluetooth headset being accepted, any keyboard usable, any webcam usable, HDMI from day 1, better support for switching audio between HDMI and optical (I have both, optical for stereo, hdmi for tv when others are sleeping), etc). The one (very major) thing the PS3 lacks is exclusive titles. There are very few games with multiplayer I've been willing to buy on PS3 simply because everyone else I know with the game will have it on 360. So take a look at the titles xbox has, vs the titles that are cross platform, and which console friends have. (I'll also say on the subject of multiplayer - yes, you have to pay yearly to use xbox live. But it's worth it. The online service on Wii and PS3 don't hold a candle to that of XBL.)
  2. Amazon Kindle 2 - $359 Kindle 2 leather cover - $29.99 1 day shipping (ordered today, arrives monday) - $7.98 ($3.99/item courtesy of Amazon Prime trial membership).
  3. Guitar Hero World Tour PS3 game + guitar: $50 at Circuit City liquidation sale (50% off).
  4. ^Actually...Saturn was started as a wholly-owned subsidiary of GM in 1985.
  5. Add me to the RB/RB2 supporters. I've just had a better experience with the RB series, both with playability (even with RB1s issues) and DLC. There are a couple artists in GH:WT that really make me want to buy the disc (Paul McCartney & Wings, Eagles)...but then I remind myself how bad the charts were in GH3. I may pick it up eventually when I can get it at a discount, but I have no intention of paying $60 for it.
  6. Funny, yes, but not exactly a candidate for the Darwin Awards. One has to die for that achievement.
  7. When it comes to GPS, what I'd like to see are applications for GPS-enabled phones. Something you'd already be carrying, and those without GPS phones can still rent the individual units. A similar (albeit much more simplified) idea was created as a web-application for the iPhone with Disney's parks by a third party. I doubt we'll see that happen as it would cut into the money flow from rentals, though they could theoretically charge for the application. Perhaps a time-limited one-time charge for those visiting, and a higher "unlimited" use charge for passholders. Regardless, I love seeing the progression of technology making its way into theme parks in general. It'll certainly be interesting to see what people make with the iPhone SDK in regards to theme parks & GPS.
  8. ^^Height limits are a bit harder to get around with B&M when they're stuck inside 30 feet, I would think. ^Ah, sorry. She fought the development of JTA tooth-and-nail, thought it would be too noisy/too ugly for people in her district across the bay. While I can't find any good articles off-hand about her involvement, I did find one that mentions the height limit.
  9. To answer the second...it's due to a height limit and people like Donna Frye.
  10. Got my copy. Was out of the Best Buy and home by 1205. Gonna be an all-nighter I think...
  11. Cheapest gas in my area of San Diego was $3.79 last night.
  12. My current wallpaper...shot it on Monday night. Cliche shot, but I like it.
  13. LT. I can barely afford the insurance on that, I can't imagine how bad it'd be with the SS. As for engine problems...we've had Chevy all my life, never had any problems too big that I can recall.
  14. So my DeLorean deal fell through...but I did end up buying a 2008 Chevy Cobalt two weeks ago.
  15. Wow, somebody actually did this? I've always wanted to since I saw the comic a few years ago...Didn't think it'd be very easy/possible to get the prop on the ride though.
