Here in Wales we have a free festival and fair in our capital city, which happens to be eight miles from my town. The CARDIFF BIG WEEKEND is the climax of a fifty seven day music and arts festival. It’s the UK’s biggest FREE outdoor festival and Wales largest travelling fair, which happens to be a slightly smaller version of Goose Fair in Nottingham, most of the same rides are at both fairs. This year we had four coasters two kiddie and a Crazy Mouse and a Toboggan coaster, which I had never seen before and was pretty wild looking. The rest of the attractions are flat rides and normal side show stalls with a few kiddie rides thrown here and there. In total there are about hundred and fifty attractions and draws crowds up to two hundred thousand a day. Most rides are priced around two to three pounds or three fifty to four dollars for our friends across the pond, but there are one or two rides which are totally over priced I saw two rides priced at fifteen pounds (twenty five dollars) and for some reason these rides had the biggest queues, even though there were plenty of better rides priced much lower. The fair is set in the streets which is an area of about two city blocks and some of the rides are so well placed you just miss trees and buildings, which adds more thrill to most of the rides, Each year it gets bigger and better, with attractions being added all the time and this year the fair was an alcohol free zone, but it didn’t seem to stop a few sharing there excitement on the rider next or in front them. Overal it’s very well organised and great fun. Barry Island Pleasure Park on monday. off to a big travelling fair on friday in Cardiff.

Tokens are a pound each, Viper is two tokens as are most of the non kiddie rides. Also on friday Cardiff big weekend starts and they have the same traveling fair as Goose fair in Nottingham, so you could check that out on the way home too.

yeah it was a bit of a squeeze to get by.

Now I know some people think that Wales is a fish with the biggest pecker in the sea, but it is a country too. Where I live we have a small theme park which has been there since 1920. Now there are rumours that it may close at the end of the season, so I popped over this afternoon and spent my evening editing two videos, so you can see the park just in case it closes. Incidentally it happens to have a coaster which Robb hasn't got the credit on "OMG can this be true". The park video is a 33 meg. so please give it time to load. Yes it is still operating and felt a lot safer to ride than Pepsi Loop, their looping Pinfari which is in a very bad condition.

I managed to find one of me at Barry island wales in 1969 I am the one on the left. My brother is on the right and i know we are dresses the same like as if we are twins, but we are over a year apart in age and our mother would dress us the same. WE ARE SCARED FOR LIFE AS A RESULT.....
