  2. The only thing you could possibly be appalled by is the figment of your imagination you're ranting against. This site is as gay friendly as you can get without being a gay website. I've seen plenty of gay people here and not one person has said anything negative towards them. This person's death is either health related or drug related obviously.. The ride itself didn't kill him. Not shocking or appalling that people would consider the possibility that he used drugs. Take an upper and your heart rate is off the charts. Get on a coaster and you're playing with fire. This would be true regardless of who you have sex with. Literally not one single person has ever said that. Its all in your head. Considering Robb rants against the idiots of the world I thought the faux outrage nonsense wouldn't find its way here. I guess its true.....you really cant escape the idiocracy.
  3. Goldstriker should be the salt shaker. I mean...I LOVE it....but how does it go from #7 to #9 and now #10 all of a sudden? What changed this time? Did they only get a free GS keychain and not a shirt? Everyone here raves on LR yet they've had GS beat it in their poll before and now LR is four places ahead of it? There's no real consistency. At its current pace, GoldStriker will be a top 5 coaster next year..or it'll drop to 20.
  4. I think it looks amazing. I made the mistake of checking various youtube videos about it. One guy did nothing but piss and moan and even had the nerve to say its the worst RMC yet. Its not even built yet for crying out loud. I had to turn it off. I was losing brain cells at that point. That idea of sending a petition to Alan Schilke made me cringe. It reminded me of about 10-12 years ago on the GNR forums when segments of the lunatic fringe wanted to send a petition to Axl Rose demanding that he hurry up and finish/release Chinese Democracy. Just let him do what he does best(designing bat poop crazy rides) without interfering...
  5. I really wish Elastica would reunite....even for just one show. Earlier this year it got very close when they got together for the first time in 20 years to discuss the re-release of their debut album. It's basically been ruled out but I wish the planets would align for it somehow. One reason its unlikely is there's simply no demand for it. Their music has pretty much skipped a generation and they were only active for a few years. It would make some waves in the UK but would be a popcorn fart everywhere else.
  6. ^^ I just checked out that song. If that's the best song of 2017, this must be the worst year in the history of music. I love that song. Their best song IMO. Yeah...call me crazy. Just the guitar tone can give me chills.
  7. Funny how in some threads people say there's not enough rides and in others they talk about too many. Hopefully they shove more rides into that section. I don't think a Skywarp being in the same park as a loop is a very big issue. I'll just walk past Dare Devil on my way to Harley Quinn. Problem solved. I also don't think very many people are going to think of Dare Devil when seeing the skywarp. It certainly looks a hell of a lot better. The only downside to getting the skywarp is I was hoping SFDK would be getting the 4D themed to either Batman or Harley. Maybe next year....
  8. I care less than nothing about the standard loop rides but I think it looks pretty cool.....regardless of whether or not it can be considered a roller coaster. The general public will eat it up like Roseanne Barr on a loose meat sandwich. Nothern Cali people have a treat for next year. Both parks upping the ante with brand new coasters.
  9. Taller and faster than Wonder Woman? Wow. That's gonna be bat poop crazy.
  10. Will they be consistent regarding any ride closures? Or is it gonna be a crap shoot and one day rides like TC and Goliath will be closed and the next day it'll be X2 and Superman.
  11. As Bill Clinton would say, I feel your pain.... I ran a successful Guns N Roses community for years and at the height of its popularity(2006-08), I had to deal with all sorts of people. Its usually what I call "the lunatic fringe" that take things so seriously and it becomes a major chore to deal with. I'm sure you enjoy many aspects of it but I also know there are times when you literally want to scream. edit: Count me in with those who like back seat videos. Even though I don't like the ride all that much, I do like your grizzly video. The TPR video of Demon(front and back) is the best video of that ride.
  12. A handful of people pissing and moaning on Facebook isn't really the proper way to gauge the general public's reaction. People complain about everything on social media. When a ton of people are in line to ride it(or it's a ghost town), that's when VF will know the general public's reaction. Dollars to donuts they gobble it up like Roseanne Barr on a loose meat sandwich.
  13. That Gold Striker promo shoot sounded amazing. My favorite part of this thread. It was a completely new ride to me so reading that hype train really helped build anticipation. I wondered about WWF when I was there although that was back in May. It was closed and completely bone dry. Not sure if it was temporary or if they're on the verge of tearing it out. I'm not a big fan of water rides so it wont bother me in the least bit if it has to be removed. I assume they'll have to remove it eventually anyways...railblazer or not.
  14. Regardless of any capacity issues, I'm amazed that anyone wouldn't want a brand new ride coming to their park. I did cartwheels down the street during the announcement of Railblazer and nothing negative crossed my mind. Low capacity? The line will be a tad longer. Cant ride with a friend? They can ride in the car behind you. Isn't this park smaller than CGA? I know I've read TRs from this park and people mention the non-existent lines so I don't see why it would be a huge problem if VF got a similar ride.
  15. I assume the suspended family coaster mentioned is the Flying Ace at Carowinds or is there a new version on the horizon? Its hard to picture any of the rides mentioned fitting here...especially that hyper. Railblazer is going to take up the prime spot always imagined for any new ride. They're gonna have to get creative with whatever is next on tap. When I read this whole thread months ago I saw they had a special event for Goldstriker before it opened where people could show up and ride it for a few hours. I hope something similar happens with Railblazer.
  16. Black Crowes- Jealous Again
  17. Yeah... hopefully when he brings up the twenty year plan again or anything else discussed the past 10+ years he'll remember how search functions work.
  18. In 1000+ page threads, just about every discussion has been "done to death", including one of the subjects of your last post in this thread...the twenty year plan. I just didn't have a need or see a reason to yawn over it.
  19. I thought you were referring to westcoasterking. Bill most certainly isn't trolling. I agree and another thing...making predictions for this park is even more difficult than most. Months ago when rumors/speculation went into overdrive, no one seriously imagined CGA getting a ride of this magnitude. Other than Gold Striker, CGA had been in a sort of limbo for years. The announcement was best case scenario. IMO it also allows the real possibility of parks like Michigan's Adventure, Valleyfair, etc. to get some killer additions in the coming years. Some of the fans of those parks are a tad doom and gloom but there's light at the end of the tunnel even though some believed the light was turned off due to cost cutting measures. If they're willing to make a serious investment in CGA, it'll be their turn soon. Good points. Unfortunately it was closed on the day I went a few months ago. I rode it in the 80s and 90s but wanted to ride it again now that it has that label attached to it. I don't remember it having that reputation back then. All I know is the fact it had/has long lines...so somebody likes it. You're right. Its a good family coaster but at what point does it warrant removal? Its taking up valuable space back there that could easily be put to better use.
  20. Seeing what RMC is doing with Hurler really does make you wonder if Grizzly isn't beyond saving after all. In lurk mode I read this whole thread and I saw many laugh several years ago when the possibility of RMC turning Grizzly shit into Grizzly salad was brought up. Most said just burn it to the ground which is something I pretty much agree with. The ride is a bore. While I haven't rode every wooden coaster in the world obviously, I think it deserves its 'worst' label. Torch it or give it a second life and let RMC get its hands all over it? I have no idea which would actually be cheaper. I assume a big part of that would depend on its potential replacement.
  21. Dear mother of God.... It's bat poop crazy. This ride makes Joker at SFDK, the only RMC I've been on, look like a baby ride in comparison. They are really upping the ante here.
  22. Thanks for posting that. Perfect timing as the announcement had just started. Unreal. When he first said 'Dive' I immediately thought of Valravn/Griffon. That drop is going to be spectacular. Never been to Knotts before but its on my list for 2018 along with CGA and Cedar Point. Expectations for today's announcements have been exceeded.
  23. Wow. I'm still in shock that CGA is really going to have a ride of this magnitude. For starters, it shows that CF isn't just going to let the park be in a state of limbo like it was during a portion of the Paramount years. Yeah I've already read some youtube comments whining about this. Nobody cares. Its obviously going to blow minds and I don't give a rat's rump if it has a clone in Texas. In the coming years we'll be seeing more of these and that fact has neither a positive or negative impact on CGA having Railblazer. The very first comment after the announcement. THE VERY FIRST!!! And it's someone complaining and bitching. This is why I CANNOT STAND ROLLER COASTER ENTHUSIASTS!!!!! After the 2017 year we just had where very little was built, very little was innovative, absolutely NOBODY should be complaining about new and unique rides being announced. NOBODY!!! Seriously go find another hobby "RollerManic" because no one wants that type of crap attitude around here. Even though I mainly just lurk, this site quickly became one of my favorite forums. I get flabbergasted whenever I see that type of post. We've already known for a few months that 2018 was shaping up to be incredible. Now that the reality is starting to set in with these announcements and it increases the anticipation of what's to come, its unreal to see anything resembling negativity or criticism. This park's getting a major coaster. Period. Anyone who loves roller coasters and especially those in this area or planning a trip here in 2018 should be doing cartwheels down the street.
  24. There's currently a killer sale going on. Its basically buy one ticket, get one ticket to Winterfest free. https://www.cagreatamerica.com/tickets-passes/daily-tickets I have to do it. Cant pass that up. I've been wishy washy regarding my choice between Santa Cruz or going to SFDK again. This deal made up my mind. Unfortunately they're not open many days the rest of this month. I've also never been to a Winterfest. Looking forward to that.
