  1. That's the one down side of year round parks. You have to plan around ride maintenance closures. With seasonal parks you really only have to worry about a ride breaking down.
  2. ^ Yeah. Let's just get Crazanity built before we worry about what's next. By the way what's up with that name?
  3. According to the dude who was giving tours and explanations during and after the announcement the turn around turn over the station is the inversion (this is coming from the release videos). If I remember correctly one of those in attendance actually brought up the same question. They asked to what degree it banks because it looked like a simple over banked turn and I remember that he stated a number greater than 135 degrees. What over head structure are you referring to?
  4. It's used for weddings. It used to be in the park where Silver Bullet's station now sits. At one point they actually had Sunday services, but I think that stopped back when they fenced in the park and started charging admission. They finally moved it to the pavilion because that made more sense. Have the wedding and reception right there instead having to walk across the street.
  5. That's not a lot of space. That whole open grass area around the church is only about 2 acres. Probably just expanded pavilion space.
  6. Speaking of Scream and rough coasters, how much does individual park TLC factor in to the equation? I know that for woodies care and maintenance play a huge role. But what about for steel coasters? B&Ms are known for their smoothness, but some can be very rough and rattlly while others run like butter. Sometimes even within the same park.
  7. ^^ Is that spine taller than what is typical for B&M track?
  8. Washington: Timberhawk Idaho: Tremors Colorado: Twister II Utah: Cannibal Arizona: Desert Storm New Mexico: New Mexico Rattler California: oh boy, how do I even begin? I love Woodies, but I'm going to have to go with Xcelerator. I love launches and Xcel's launch, top hat and drop are simply far superior to Complete Throttles'
  9. ^ I agree. The tweet refers to the Leviathan launch campaign. Which was the campaign leading up the launch of the project. As in the start of the project. They could be hinting but probably not. That said, I know a lot of people want something record breaking and so are thking super tall or whatever. But I was thinking. Something low to the ground with lots of twists and inversions can still be record breaking. I'm just going sit back wait and enjoy the wait on this one until we know more.
  10. Considering that the only known such incident ever in the history of wild mouse coasters was a dumb kid, the obvious solution should have been to just require the kids to sit on the inside seat. Wild mouse cars only have one "door" and no adult is ever going to be able to get their leg out as long as that lapbar is down.
  11. ^ It wouldn't be ugly if it were properly disguised. And it doesn't have to be a building. It could just be exterior siding attached to the structure. All I'm saying is it would make for a different experience in the dark, not that it's not already fun. Nor am I saying they should all be enclosed. I'm just saying I'd like to see one someday somewhere be enclosed. If it ever happens it would probably be in China where I'll never get to. That said, I can't wait to get down to SW next year and ride this thing. I enjoyed Superman at DSFK and the extra theming and animal exhibit should make for an even better experience.
  12. The drive wheels on RailBlazer's transfer track are very interesting. BTW, I was bored so I did this. The area in yellow includes Logger's Run, Snoopy Splash and the plot that you say was FAA approved for 240', plus the lagoon behind Logger's Run. This area is apx 3 acres. For comparison Valravn is 2.6 acres. Silver Bullet is 2.5 acres and Gold Striker is 2.8 acres. So just take that for what it's worth and run with it. I'll step out of the way now and let the chaos begin. Bwhahahahahahah!!!!! Mwhahahahahah!!!!!
  13. Just once of like to see one of these rides be enclosed. Just think how much more thrilling such a dark coaster would be. I love dark coasters. I've only been on two, Space Mountain and The Mummy at USH. I've always wanted to ride one of the old Premier launched "spaghetti bowl" coasters, but alas they never built one on the west coast. Which is surprising really. Paramount installed two back east but never built one at CGA. I wonder why.
  14. ^ Shin. Guards. Painful. Uncomfortable. Unnecessary.
  15. Not necessarily. As long as it has ridership numbers it will stay. And though numbers are down they aren't yet to a point yet to justify the expense of moving it.
  16. I've had a lot of time to think. CR is not the best mouse I've been on. I mean it slows down to a crawl before each turn, which kind of defeats the thrill and point of the entire wild mouse concept. However, families and kids still like it a because it's tame and that's the aim of Knott's. That said I do think it's days are numbered because of the "incident" and the resulting shin guards. Kids under 52 need an adult and now many adults can't ride it. I keep thinking about what other kinds of coasters can go into a shot that small. BTW I don't think they remove Scrambler or Surfside. Too popular.
  17. Yeah, I see it now. But barely. It don't see it opening in time for the BF
  18. Station construction hasn't even gone vertical yet as far as I can tell on the webcam.
  19. Some people think taller equals better. I used to think that way. But I was wrong.
  20. I disagree that people are turned off by the term "spinning".
  21. No, I wasn't serious. I know the answer. It was more of a sarcastic retort that didn't translate well on "paper".
  22. Now that is cool of Knott's. Does Disney return the favor?
  23. ^ Last time I was out there a couple years ago Downtown Disney was still free, up to 3 hours I think it was. Now it's $12 per half hour (3 hours free with a purchase of $20 or 5 hours free with a validation from AMC or any table-side restaurant). Is it that much cheaper to take a Taxi/Uber the 7 miles from Knott's to Disney to avoid the parking fee? I don't know. I haven't done a taxi in a long time (never done Uber). But the last time I did take a taxi it was $20 to go less than 10 miles. And that was here in Washington.
  24. I think you're right. Their website lists them as Loony Loop GmbH & Co. KG and has them based in Nurnburg.
