My rant of the day would be for those who drive while talking on the phone (people who don't use a blue-tooth or other hands-free devices.) I'm driving home from work at about 7:45am today, heavy traffic and I happen to see a girl in her little purple Scion TC chatting it up on her bedazzled iPhone. As the traffic begins to move, she decides to merge into my lane (didn't have her blinker on either from what I could see)...she had the phone to her ear and it was blocking her view to the left...as she should have seen that I was directly next to her. She steps on the gas and was an inch away from hitting my car until I swerved toward the center divider, narrowly missing that as well...When she realizes what she did, she looks up at me, smiles and then proceeds down the road. I wanted to smash her face into her steering wheel...People need to use a hands-free device while driving or don't talk on the phone period. (Fyi, I have a program in my car that lets me talk through my stereo and I've never once drove and held my phone to chat.)

Thanks for the mental images I'm glad you didn't have many crazy wait times (sorry you had to wait 30 minutes for Mean Streak). As for Mantis, the trim on the frist drop has been off since it valleyed at the beginning of the season. It has been hauling like there's no tomorrow when its hot out, making the ride quite painful sometimes. I like to be descriptive! Lol....Well if what you said about Mantis is true, it would make sense...it was way more rough than usual and it did seem so much faster...I wish they could get that thing as smooth as it use to be but meh....it's 14-15 years old now. -

Awesome, just submitted two, one for "original" and the other for "edited"...both photos were 800x600 in size. -
So, it seems like each visit to Cedar Point is more fun than the last and this time was no exception! My last visit to CP was May 14 & 15, 2008 so I was extremely happy to have gotten a chance to go at least once this summer! You got to love that park, so much to do & see that it's ridiculous!! So, I went with my mom, one of my sisters and a few of my mom's friends. We got to the park at 10:11am and it was hot as a mother-fire-trucker! No breeze, no shade, all heat...I was hoping it would rain a little but it never did! The Good: While the park was as packed as it could be on a smoldering hot July Saturday, surprisingly the wait times for majority of the rides were fairly decent. The following below is the exact wait time (down to the second, because I have a stop watch on my phone and was bored in lines lol) that we've waited for each ride: Max air: (1st ride) 38 mins, 10 sec, (2nd ride) 26 mins, 32 sec, (3rd ride) 21 mins, 15 sec Raptor: Hour, 2 mins, 15 sec Mantis: 44 mins, 26 sec Millennium Force: (1st ride) 38 mins, 18 sec, (2nd ride) 41 mins, 30 sec (The ride op's were keeping the line moving!) Blue Streak: Walk On Iron Dragon: 2 mins, 6 sec (before it's technical difficulties) Corkscrew: Walk On Mean Streak: 31 mins, 12 sec Magnum XL-200: 24 min, 31 sec Gemini: 18 mins, 3 sec Power Tower: 15 mins, 9 sec Calypso: Walk On Cedar Downs Racing Derby: Walk On (and pretty enjoyable might I add!) Witche's Wheel: Walk On Ocean Motion: 9 mins, 22 sec Monster: 12 mins, 20 sec Missed Rides: Maverick: had a wait time of nearly 2 hours....people was lined up way before the entrance to the ride comes into view. Top Thrill Dragster: had a wait of exactly 2+ hours, people in line were sitting on the ground, some in folding chairs...waiting. Wicked Twisters: line was decent but we kept passing it up to ride Max Air. Disaster Transport:...couldn't find the entrance lol Sky Hawk: had a fairly decent line but someone threw up on one of the seats apparently a few minutes before we got there...reeked so bad even after it was cleaned up that we just got out of line. Snake River Falls: I can never find the entrance to this thing lol Park staff was friendly as always and the park itself (except bathrooms) was nice and clean. They had rotating fans with 2 tubes attached to the front blowing a nice water mist on people in line for coasters. The Bad: While having my hands up on Raptor, on helix at end, felt like my arm was being pulled out of the socket....left shoulder very sore and the ending was a bit on the rough side. Blue streak, Mean Streak & Corkscrew all hurt (mostly blue streak) and felt rough throughout the duration of the ride...left each one of those with a headache. My favorite coaster Mantis seemed a bit more rough than when I last rode it in 2008, I've never had a uncomfortable ride on it until now because it left me with a small cut to the "bean bag"...if you know what I mean...too much information? lol, sorry! Not so much as bad, but more annoying... people wear anything now-a-days... Some girl wore fleece pajama's Countless "heavy set" ladies with 2 piece bikini's Countless shirtless guys with major moobies (man boobs) Girl with bikini who apparently had a c-section, had a extremely flabby/wrinkly stomach and had the navel pierced Some one diarrhea in the stand up urinal...yup. Food prices...ugh, I found myself comparing CP food prices with Kennywood prices the whole day...$5 for a cookie ice-cream sandwich All in all, a blast! On to pics, Just took some a few as I was too busy riding...FYI, I used my T-Mobile Tap phone to take all the pictures http://www.tmonews.com/2009/11/t-mobile-tap-gallery/ Random shot when entering the park Shot of Raptor's Lift Train full of happy riders leaving the station Train ready for descent! Loop goodness!! Close-up of train navigating the Heartline Roll Same shot, a bit further back Train just after leaving the Mid-course brakes Wingover in progress The helix that was trying to take my left arm out of it's socket...tisk tisk Raptor! Awesome action shot of Max Air Max Air a bit closer... Love this pic! Show's the profile of the ride and feel for how high you really are! Favorite picture out of all the pictures I took, might use this as desktop wallpaper The giant that tis' Power Tower and the enjoyable Iron Dragon! Power Tower Corkscrew's Corkscrew over the midway The double screw's look cool! Approaching Mantis, getting a bit rough, but still love it! Quirky angle of Mantis Lift & Drop Loopy loop! Cool pic of funky Mantis tunraround...Man, I love this ride's color scheme!! Mantis Dive loop... Weird shot of Mantis & MF TTD through the trees & Witch's Wheel in action below it I swear I get this shot everytime I visit lol MF's second & third drops! MF blazing over second drop Maverick Random Twisted Maverick Track....the end!

I got a small music note behind my ear (may be a little hard to see)....I just wanted something small but had meaning to me...I love music like I love roller coasters & breathing lol...so I wanted a tat of a music note. I want a coaster tattoo (something of Mantis), I just don't know where I want it.

Felling pretty good today!! It's going to rain today which makes me extremely happy because we've had a whole week of 94 Degrees and up...ready for a cool down. Ah...pretty much it, just enjoying a little relaxation before work...I am elated that tomorrow is my 24th Birthday!! The only thing that kinda pissed me off today is that my left turn signal light went out on the way home from work this morning...grrr! Got to wait until Thursday to address that matter...Ah well, to all: Have A Good One!

From what I can remember, I don't think there's a test seat...I've seen people of all sizes on the ride and mostly everyone said it was comfortable....I think you should be fine. -
People Watching Thread!
CoasterExpert13 replied to MayTheGForceBeWithYou's topic in Random, Random, Random
Lol I totally agree...I'm a 2am Wal-Mart shopper because there is always something interesting to be seen during my visits. I agree with you on people's clothing choice....but I did once shop at Wal-Mart at 2am wearing x-box 360 pajama bottom's (my pants split somehow as I got out of my car and I just happen to have pajama's in the back seat lol) What I really like is watching people's facial expressions when they are walking up to the queue line of a coaster, so priceless! Favorite moment though would have to be something that happened yesterday. I was sitting in traffic because of road work and usually during this time I like to look around. Looking for nice cars & the people driving them...secretly wishing their car is mine lol (Although my car is pretty darn nice). While surveying the area, I happen to look to my right and see some guy in a BMW picking his nose. Picking his nose was gross enough but what he did next sealed the deal! He decides if I can't pick it out, i'll blow it out...so he holds one nostril down and "Snot Rocket's" in the car, spraying the contents on the driver window. At that point, he then proceeded to use his sleeve to clear the mess off the window lol...Disgusting! -

So glad to hear someone else confirm what I felt...thought it was just me lol...I weight 165 and again 6'0 so I initially thought it had something to do with my height lol....the chair itself is rather comfy. From what I heard, I guess it's pretty much all of the last rows....I was in the very last row on the train which is the row-6. I could barely get my feet in a comfortable position so I could sit down...I still think the ride is completely awesome though and glad to have it in my home park. I'll be going back next week a few days after my birthday, so i'll try and get another seat...hope I get a v.i.p. pass with a better row this time!! -

Well, most major parks have these passes so people don't have to wait in long lines...of course you must pay for them, passes and prices vary depending on the park...Once you get to a park, I would just ask "guest relations" about getting one. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
CoasterExpert13 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Today, Sky Rocket @ Kennywood -
First, I wanted to say that this was going to be a full P:TR of my visit to Kennywood, but to tell you the truth, my camera only came out to snap just a few shots of Sky Rocket (I really mean a few lol)...guess I was too busy having a blast since it was my first visit this year... THE RIDE: My friend Bill & I decided to get KP's Coaster Tour or "V.I.P." pass to ride all the coasters without having to wait inline (cost $15 for whole day, $10 after 5pm). Our Sky Rocket ride time on our pass was 9:00pm, so we got there at 8:50pm and as we were heading up the exit to join other "V.I.P. Pass holders", the ride op's called the ride engineer over to the coaster, then let the coaster do 2 laps without passengers. We all kept asking what was wrong but they kept saying everything was ok and next thing you know, where on Sky Rocket. As we were leaving the station, I was surprised at the rate of speed the ride started with...right out the station at what felt like 15 mph. which is fast to me because all of the coasters I've been on seem to crawl out the station. Out the station into a sharp left turn and pssssshhhhhhhhhh, you speed through the launch and up the the vertical first hill (which also caught me off guard because most launches I've been on pauses for a few seconds before the initial launch) while we topped the first hill, the coaster slowed somewhat over the crest and then woosshhhh, yanked down the vertical drop...extremely awesome and gave my stomach that free-fall ride feeling. First inversion which felt like a Zero-G-Roll, some turns and then a brake run, which drops almost vertical again in to the final inversion, a corkscrew, then a section of "trick track", turn and bunny hops, the ride is over. Decent speed, perfect pacing & glass smooth but a bit on the short side, though still a extremely enjoyable ride. THE BAD: ...The contraption they call seating. Our pass required us to sit in the 6th row of each coaster we road today (which happened to be the last row on the Sky Rocket train)...I'm 6'0, just to put that out there...first off, getting into the train was like getting into my friend Jeff's 09' 2 Door Honda Civic...very little feet space, darn near tripping trying to sit down & knees touch the back of the seat in front of me. I was happy to find that the restraints was a lap contraption (I say contraption because it wasn't just a bar.) But just as I started to get comfortable, this bar with a flat rectangular pad rolled forward and clammed my shins in place..which moved my feet into awkward position to where my toes were touching the floor, but my heals were off the floor and pointing behind me...picture that for a sec...ok, this not only hurt, but it was the most uncomfortable I've ever been on a coaster...EVER. I tried my hardest to ignore the awkwardness of my seating situation throughout most of the ride until the corkscrew. Approaching the top of the corkscrew, I got a "charlie horse" in my left hip/thigh area due to the way I was sitting, which sucked major scrotum because the bunny hops were coming up and I couldn't move my legs into a better position...after the bunny hops, I was praying for the coaster to hurry into the station so I could get out and stretch the charlie horse out of my leg...as I sit and type this now...some 3 hours after I left the park, my hip/thigh is still sore. I though it was just because i'm 6'0..but my friend bill also said the seat contraption was just awkward and it hurt...he's about 5'10. All in all, awesome ride, Sh*tty seating 8/10. Random shot as I was walking into the park... Random shot no. 2 Random shot no. 3 Majority of Sky Rocket from the exit ramp...rest hidden by the trees. My Bro-ski Bill being goofy... Me looking tired...Phantom's Revenge takes alot out of ya! Lol The Coaster Tour or "V.I.P." Pass As you can see, we had pass 1/row 6...Our ride time for Thunderbolt was at 7:30p, Phantom's Revenge at 8p, Exterminator at 8:30p (but we skipped it because Phantom was so fun, made us tired lol) & lastly, Sky Rocket at 9pm...well worth the $10 bucks for not having to wait in line!

Do Your Friends Know of Your Coasterness?

All my family & friends know about my coaster craze! They all think coasters are cool but majority of them are to scared of heights to ride them. My friends used to get annoyed sometimes because when I was in high school, all my projects we coaster based lol -
