  4. There so totally needs to be more videos where you interview Jahan. That was awesome. dt
  5. This trip report rules. I demand that Chuck be given a government grant that would allow him to travel around the world and document his adventures for our entertainment. dt

  9. At least SF seems to understand the concept that items inside a cargo pocket are actually "secure". Other parks should learn this lesson. dt
  10. Planet Alliance - It's Your Cross To Bear dt
  11. Nothing surprising in that article. Shocking revelation that SFA has crappy food and worse employees. And I think we all know that park security at the front gates are far more concerned that guests are not bringing in outside food/drink as opposed to a backpack nuke, so that's hardly an amazing new byte. Clean, Safe, Fun?!? Not yet. You have a long way to go, Six Flags... dt

  14. Again, I think a much bigger deal should be made out of the fact that certain parks won't even let you have stuff in a zippered pocket. To me, that should be where the outrage is focused, since these parks don't seem to understand common sense. But perhaps I'm in the minority on this. All of this stuff is why I'd much rather spend the money to go to parks outside of the US. So much less trouble than visiting most places here. dt

  18. At least SF has the sense to understand that things in a zippered pocket are OK, unlike some highly-worshiped parks... dt
  19. Every woman I've ever had a serious relationship with has enjoyed parks and coasters. Of course, we do a lot more than just go to parks and ride coasters, and our idea of a fun time at home is not staring at pictures of Cedar Point or King's Island for hours on end, or searching for obscure kiddie credits on RCDB. A lot of coaster-obsessed people come on too strong about their hobby, which is a huge turn off for a lot of people, not just potential "girlfriends". So they're out there, but you're likely not going to find one if you're spouting off coaster stats on the first date... dt
  20. Going to have to agree with Robb here, Black Mamba did not impress. Sure, it has awesome theming (though you can't really see it unless you're in the front car), but it doesn't have a lot of forces and the second half it just meanders around until it gets tired and goes back to the station. I did like it a lot better in the front seat, but I'd still rank it in the middle tier of B&M inverts. Sure, it's better than the forceless stuff B&M has been building in the US lately (Silver Bullet, Patriot), but BM doesn't even come close to rides like Nemesis, Dragons, Katun, Montu or your average Batman. I know there's some sort of conspiracy to dethrone EGF as the best steel coaster in Europe, but sorry, BM is not even close. dt
  21. Cool report. I was never a big Erasure fan, but Mary and I love '80's music (yes, I listen to stuff besides scary metal music that would kill most of you). We played a lot of '80's music at our wedding. Duran Duran rocks! I too LOVE no smoking at concerts! It makes it so much easier to see, and I'm not hacking and coughing after a show. I'm looking forward to the smoking ban going into place here in Baltimore next year. As far as photography/video goes, it's pretty much up to the bands these days. Mary and I go to shows all the time, and the policy changes at just about every show. Most bands still don't like video, though with cell phones/digital cameras, this is pretty hard to control these days. I personally think that relaxing the rules about photos and video is a good thing, as it is another form of promotion (which given the state of the music industry, a lot of bands need all the promotion they can get). Mary does a lot of band photography (her work is all over the net, and she's done CD/DVD covers for bands), and it's gotten a lot easier in the last five years or so for her to take her camera to shows. I still wish Oingo Boingo would do a reunion tour... dt
  22. Baltimore rules. I haven't been to the aquarium in a very long time, but it is a very good one. You are a brave man going to the harbor area in the summer tourist plagued times, though. dt

  24. I have been walking around the house singing this over and over and over and over until I finally stopped doing it and sort of forgot about it. Until now. Damn you, Robb! dt
