The next morning we woke up in the port of Falmouth, Jamaica. I'd been to Falmouth a few times before and wanted to have a casual day onboard, especially knowing the weather outside was going to be questionable throughout the day... On the opposite side of the port from the Disney Treasure was the Celebrity Ascent. While it's certainly a choice design-wise, I do think the concept of a bar that can travel up and down the side of the ship to near-water level is a unique feature for sure. Sometimes you just need to sit on the deck with fresh tacos and enjoy a movie on the Funnelvision. In the Grand Hall, guests had a chance to participate in a Jungle Cruise themed game. During the day there were some additional Photopass opportunities with some great Marvel props in the Worlds of Marvel restaurant. Yes, I am a goofball. That night was host to one of my favorite Disney Cruise Line dinner menus (which we'd had on other ships in the past). Can't go wrong with the Oysters Rockefeller! This might have been one of three lobster tails I had on this night... It might have been. Creme brûlée for the win! Grapefruit cake for good measure. 1923 has some of the best sundaes found on the ship! Another fun towel animal greeted us in our stateroom after dinner. I was very excited to find out that Mickey's Color Spin Dance Party had been added to the schedule for our sailing. We experienced it previously on the Disney Dream European Cruise and I was eager to see how the show could translate to the larger deck staging on the Disney Treasure. Also as a lighting geek, I was fawning over the awesome way the upper deck transformed to match the party's many colors. The party features lots of color, characters and dancing! Popular music is featured alongside pop-y takes on classic Disney songs for a really fun and dynamic show. Max joins the show midway through for an awesome performance of I2I. Hi Elissa! Mickey's Color Spin Dance Party has become one of my favorite entertainment offerings across the DCL fleet and I was very happy to experience it again here. What a fun way to close out another great day aboard the Disney Treasure!

Movie Park Germany Discussion Thread

Movie Park Germany has shared details of their upcoming plans for their 2026 season, celebrating the park's 30th anniversary. The park will update its Hollywood Boulevard section with new designs and decor, a new Movie Park anniversary parade is planned, new Nickelodeon Land entertainments offerings are coming to the park and new characters will debut in the Hollywood set in 2026. Additionally, the park has announced that a new attraction inspired by the production process at Paramount Pictures will replace The Lost Temple attraction. (Photo from the TPR Park Index) https://www.movieparkgermany.de/content/dam/mpg/presse/2026/EN-PR_Season_2026_Teaser.pdf Plans for Movie Park Germany's 30th birthday are already in full swing. To celebrate this special milestone in the 2026 season, Germany's largest movie and amusement park has planned a number of activities, eventful highlights, and a new cinematic attraction for its guests. Now, the first news from Hollywood in Germany are being announced. The spotlights will be adjusted and the set polished: Hollywood Boulevard is getting a makeover and will shine in new splendor in 2026. A new color scheme, themed decorations and props are on the production schedule for Movie Park’s anniversary year and will make the world of movies sparkle in a new fashion. The next dazzling scene is waiting around the corner, letting families catch sight of their favorite heroes: Starting in summer, the big Movie Park anniversary parade will be brought to life with new cinematic floats and vehicles and captivate guests in a world between old Hollywood glamour and modernity. A new soundtrack for the parade is in the works, as well as new costumes and choreographies. Starting with the Easter holidays, an expanded Nickelodeon entertainment offering will enrich the park and provide even more family-friendly entertainment in Nickelodeon Land. More movie atmosphere, more TV heroes: New characters will join the Hollywood set and await their big debut in 2026. “There is no business like show business” and it is time to feel like a Hollywood star: On some Saturdays during the summer holidays in 2026, the park will extend its opening hours until 8 p.m. and celebrate the summer evenings with its guests in its anniversary year with cocktails, live music, and special food offerings. July 4, 2026, will be a glamorous highlight, with Movie Park hosting a big anniversary celebration that will last into the late evening hours. A key scene in the 2026 season will be a new exclusive Paramount attraction, which will come to life in place of “The Lost Temple”, further highlighting the movie identity of the park. With this attraction, Movie Park Germany will live up to its motto “Hollywood in Germany” – and let guests dive deeply into the movie productions and on-set operations of the world-famous Paramount Pictures. They will experience first-hand what it is like to be an extra in a big movie production full of adventure and action lurking behind every corner. However, that is not the end of the story: a mix of entertainment, events, and nostalgia will continue to set the scene for the anniversary year. More surprises are already in the works and will be announced in due course. -
Greenland Resort in Japan has has announced that a new hybrid coaster with steel supports and wooden track with a targeted opening of Spring 2028. The park has also announced that Ultra Twister Megaton, which closed in 2020, will be removed. https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2400301/full/#google_vignette Greenland, one of the largest amusement parks in western Japan, will introduce a new roller coaster that is rare even in Japan, around spring 2028. A new roller coaster will be launched at Greenland, an amusement park in Kumamoto Prefecture, around spring 2028. Greenland Resort announced this on the 8th. The coaster planned for introduction is a "hybrid coaster" (tentative name). It is a rare type in Japan, consisting of steel supports and a wooden track. It will be the first roller coaster to be introduced in Kyushu. The total length is 620.8 meters and is made in the United States. Construction will be carried out by Sanoyas Ride Corporation, headquartered in Osaka. The official name and detailed specifications will be announced as soon as they are finalized. This will be the first large-scale attraction in 16 years since Star Flyer Goku, which was introduced in 2012, and the first coaster in 21 years since the Black Hole Coaster, which was introduced in 2007. It was also announced that Ultra Twister Megaton, which had been suspended since 2020, will cease operations. Greenland is an amusement park in Midorigaoka, Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture. With a site area of 550,000 square meters, it is known as one of the largest in Western Japan, covering approximately 11 Tokyo Domes. In addition to roller coasters, it offers a total of 72 attractions, including shooting games, water rides, and haunted houses, making it the largest in Japan for children and seniors. The on-site pool facility, Water Park, is also open during the summer. During nighttime hours, the park will also host a "Wonder illumination" event, where over 100 illumination spots will light up. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNFpWLbxVO5/

^The coaster has been on the market for some time and has had no takers. As unique as Switchback is, I feel like, had the park not bought it, they probably would have been able to operate successfully for years to come as a small attraction. Just because you build it, doesn’t mean the local market will sustain the demand or that the tourists will come. This is an unfortunate case study in investing in the wrong kind of additions for a park.

In Summer 2026 the new Great Tides Waterpark will open along with other new enhancements for the destination! https://www.multivu.com/norwegian_cruise_line/9305955-en-norwegian-cruise-line-great-stirrup-cay-expansion Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL), the innovator in global cruise travel, today announced additional details for its private island transformation on Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas headlined by a nearly six-acre Great Tides Waterpark opening in summer 2026, and more incredible experiences to bring unforgettable adventures and endless relaxation for its guests. From cliff jumps and jet karts to swim-up bars and splash zones, the expansion of the island’s offerings is designed to elevate every guest’s experience – adults and kids alike – with more freedom, more flexibility and more ways for them to discover “The Great Life!” at Great Stirrup Cay. “Great Stirrup Cay has always been an amazing part of the Norwegian Cruise Line guest experience and continues to be one of our highest rated destinations," said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. "At 270 acres our private island provides us with an incredible blueprint to reinvent what guests can experience when they escape to ‘The Great Life’ with us. This new waterpark is an outstanding addition to our recent announcement about other amazing new amenities on the island soon to debut. With each phase of our enhancements, we’re bringing ashore more of what our guests love about sailing with NCL. Whether you want to relax by the huge new heated pool – complete with multiple swim up bars, are looking forward to racing down one of the 19 waterslides with your kids at Great Tides Waterpark, or just want to enjoy the ocean breeze from one of the hammocks at Hammock Bay, Great Stirrup Cay will soon boast even more ways to escape to YOUR ‘great life’ for a memorable vacation on and off the ship. I am thrilled to welcome our guests to the greatest private island in the Caribbean!" BIG SPLASH, BIGGER ESCAPE: GREAT TIDES WATERPARK WILL DELIVER INDUSTRY FIRST EXPERIENCES WITH ADRENALINE-BOOSTING AND LAID-BACK ADVENTURES Anchored by 19 waterslides – from adrenaline-boosting to laid-back adventure – a nearly 800-foot dynamic river, the 9,000-square-foot splash zone for kids, and the industry’s first cliffside jumps, Great Tides Waterpark will deliver guests MORE to do and MORE to enjoy. At 170-feet, the unmissable Tidal Tower will be home to eight thrilling waterslides, including the two tallest slides of the tower where guests can experience splashing drops and thrilling climbs on an inner tube for an exhilarating ride. Additional slides include racing slides where guests can speed to the finish line on a mat, tube slides which features large spirals and spins that send guests in a whole other direction as they shoot down in a burst of excitement, as well as exciting body slides. To make it even easier to enjoy, select slides will include convenient conveyer belts to lift the rafts to the top of the tower, eliminating the tedious task of guests carrying them up on their own. Families and adventure seekers will be able to let loose at Cliffside Cove with racer slides, two different cliff jumps standing at 10 and 15 feet tall – a cruise industry first – as well as the Caribbean’s only family slide, where four guests can slide down simultaneously. For those who prefer to enjoy from the sidelines, The Grotto Bar, a hidden cave bar tucked under the family slide, will offer the best people watching with a cocktail in hand. At the center of Great Tides Waterpark, a 9,000-square-foot kids splash zone will provide a water wonderland for little ones with an oversized tipping bucket towering at over 40 feet above the ground. Eight mini slides and interactive water features complete this aquatic paradise for children of all ages. The waterpark will also feature a dynamic river, an immersive water experience with an accelerated current that will be faster and more exciting than a typical lazy river. At 800 feet long guests will be able to enter the dynamic river from several points, including a wading pool with a conveniently located swim-up bar nearby. A highlight on the river will be an illuminated grotto tunnel featuring a dreamlike bioluminescent scene for the ultimate multi-sensory experience. Well-located cabanas will be situated at the edge of the dynamic river and the kids splash zone for premium access to the popular family areas. MORE WAYS TO ENJOY ‘THE GREAT LIFE’: ISLAND ENHANCEMENTS FOR EVERYONE An all-new mini aquatic racecourse with jet karts – combining elements of go-karting and jet skiing – will soon be one of the top shore excursions available on the island for adventure seekers. Debuting later this year, guests will start to enjoy some of the first enhanced experiences at Great Stirrup Cay, beginning with the opening of the brand-new heated pool, a new multi-ship pier, the scenic welcome plaza, and an island-wide tram service that will make it easier than ever to get around the island and escape to “The Great Life.” The Great Life Lagoon, the recently announced expansive 1.4-acre pool area, will be complete with private ocean and pool view cabanas and villas, an abundance of complimentary loungers and two swim-up bars offering a selection of refreshing beverages including kid-friendly drinks and adult-favorite cocktails. Each bar will have its own ambiance, with Reef Bar designed to be more vibrant with a DJ spinning all-day beats. The Waves Bar will be on the opposite side of the pool where a beach-style entrance leads to an exciting splash area for kids with fun water features. Another popular family space will be the 3,400-square-foot Splash Harbor, a complimentary splash pad steps away from the brand-new heated pool, with interactive water fountains, aquatic features and a shaded bar and lounge for the parents to relax while the kids are at play. For guests who enjoy their fair share of competition, the soon-to-be all-new complimentary recreational area, Horizon Park, will feature lawn style games, pickleball courts, a nine-hole mini golf course, half a sports court and more. Designed to provide the ultimate beachside relaxation, Hammock Bay will include over 50 hammocks for the perfect afternoon nap, a dedicated bar and will be conveniently located near the guest-favorite BBQ buffet. Or if exclusive oceanfront luxury is preferred, Vibe Shore Club, the adults-only area, will offer a chicer ambiance with a private bar, hanging day beds and premium lounge seating. Entrance to the adults-only area comes with the purchase of a day pass and includes an upgraded lounger and premium umbrella, or for an even more elevated experience, villas will also be available to rent. The next day at sea was a relaxing one with time spent in the ship's pools, and enjoying activities onboard. But the day was less important than the night because it was the always-anticipated Pirates Night onboard! Pirates in the Caribbean is a staple Disney Cruise Line offering across the fleet, and there's plenty to enjoy about it when experienced on the Disney Treasure... Some of my favorite art on the ship can be found along the side of Disney's Oceaneer Club. On the Disney Treasure (and the Disney Wish), guests can access the Disney On Demand content normally found on the stateroom TVs from their phones while connected to the ship's WIFI. Even better, this service is absolutely free! Watching a Muppets film during a Disney Cruise is kind of a tradition of ours at this point. Pirates Dinner is hosted in every rotational dining venue on Pirates Night. The samosa is one of my favorite items! The seafood pasta is my go-to entree during Pirates Dinner. Tia Dalma's Jerk Chicken is a great option for the less adventurous eaters. Can't forget dessert! What a delicious and refreshing ofrenda! Mickey & Minnie's Pirates in the Caribbean is the first of two entertainment experiences offered during Pirates Night! Mickey and the gang come out to teach guests how to serve as a proper pirate crew. The show is exceptionally cute! The show is interrupted by Captain Hook who arrives to put Mickey's new pirate crew to the test. A must visit! Another great towel animal! The second of the entertainment offerings during Pirates Night is the Pirate's Rockin' Parlay Party. Captain Redd and her pirate crew come out to sing and dance to rock and roll tunes. The show is a great time! And there's ;yro! Action shot! One of the highlights of a Disney Cruise for sure. But wait, there's more! Of course Captain Jack Sparrow arrives to kick off the fireworks. And it is quite a show, especially for one being performed live at sea. After Pirates Night activities ramped down, I snuck away to Hook's Barbery, a barbershop by day and a speakeasy bar at night... On this night I did the Premium Whiskey Reserve tasting experience. The five pours are well worth more than the $100 price of admission! Just outside the lounge is this awesome art piece inspired by Luca. And it is filled with lots of hidden details if you look closely enough! The night came to a close after this experience but there were still a few more nights ahead of us.

A few weeks ago I had a chance to visit Universal Studios Florida and it gave me a chance to see a bit of the construction progress on the successor to Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit as well as checking out the park's offerings celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jaws. Construction on the new coaster is happening all around Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, despite that coaster still being in operation. Over in the San Francisco section of the park, a mini version of Amity had sprung up in honor of the 50th anniversary of Jaws. It was nice to see this iconic sign back up in the park. Featuring food booths inspired by the food locations that used to be found in the former Amity section of the park. Chez Alcatraz continues to serve up Jaws-inspired alcoholic beverages. There's a neat Amity Boat Tours photo ops featuring imagery from the former Jaws ride and at times, former Jaws skippers come out to perform the ride's spiels live for guests. The San Francisco Candy Company has received a temporary overlay to match the outside Jaws theme. Some former props from the film and former ride queue can be found in this display case. Eagle-eyed fans will notice this lanyard which was given out to riders on the final night of operation for Jaws at Universal Studios Florida. Theme Park Review was there on the final day of operation, filming two different POVs before the ride's closure. Props inspired by the former park land can be found throughout the shop. I love this poster! Fans of the ride will surely recommend these boathouse doors. There is even a neat 3-D map of the ride's layout and show scenes. The candy shop even has a few Jaws-inspired treats. Just totally normal theming... Totally normal. Amity Fried Chicken certainly brings back memories... Time to take the plunge... Geronimo. This trip report being posted two weeks later confirmed one thing... I lived. This was actually quite good. Another Amity throwback. But I passed on this menu. Shifting from one extinct attraction to a soon-to-be one... This view will be very different soon. I wonder if the firehouse will be restored once Rockit is removed. Artsy. A new resident from The Secret Life of Pets can now be found in the New York section of the park. Not long for this world. Going down... The non-inverting loop does have a neat silhouette. This fly-by turn has always been one of the coaster's better elements. Oh those ringy-ding-ding-a-lings. Only a few more weeks to Rockit. Outside the park, the path between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure has become a city of walls while preparation is under way for the new coaster. On my way out I noticed that the Hemisphere Dancer, the famous plane once belonging to Jimmy Buffett had been restored and placed back at its home at the Lone Palm Airport bar. Apparently this was the bar's grand reopening. A little bit of backstory to close out this report...

Elitch Gardens Discussion Thread
jedimaster1227 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kroenke Sports and Entertainment has purchased properties along the River Mile development including Elitch Gardens Theme and Wate rPark and the venue that hosts Meow Wolf. The company has confirmed that they intend to continue to operate those attractiosn into the future. https://kdvr.com/news/local/ball-arena-owner-buys-river-mile-development-area-including-meow-wolf-elitch-gardens/ Kroenke Sports and Entertainment, which owns Ball Arena and other entertainment venues, announced its purchase of properties along the River Mile development on Thursday. KSE said in a press release that it acquired Revesco Properties’ interest in the River Mile development, a project that plans to transform a mile of properties along the South Platte River into a walkable neighborhood that combines nature and city life. The sale includes Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park and 1338 1st Street, which is home to Meow Wolf and other properties, as well as “other related assets,” KSE said. KSE and Revesco Properties have been working together since their joint purchase of the 58-acre historic Elitch Gardens in 2015. Renderings on The River Mile website show a future for the area with new skyscrapers, green space along the river and more. KSE also has plans to redevelop 55 acres near Speer Boulevard and Auraria Parkway, including the Ball Arena campus, into a new walkable neighborhood with housing, retail, entertainment, and green space. First plans for Ball Arena Redevelopment filed in Denver show hotel, venue and housing “Realizing sole ownership of these properties will allow us to streamline our comprehensive vision for the future development encompassing The River Mile and the adjacent Ball Arena campus,” KSE Owner and Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke said in the release. “We are grateful to Revesco for many years of productive collaboration.” The future of the area is now in KSE’s hands. “We are incredibly proud of our work with KSE as the stewards of Elitch Gardens over the past decade, and to have been a catalyst for a re-imagining of the site known as The River Mile,” said Rhys Duggan, Founding Member, President & CEO of Revesco Properties. “We believe the blueprint has been set for the future of Central Denver and that both the Park and The River Mile vision are in good hands with Mr. Kroenke and his family.” KSE said that Elitch Gardens and Meow Wolf will continue to operate at their current sites, KSE said. Executive Vice President Mike Neary said the amusement park is a “rite of summer” for over a million visitors each year, and they intend to keep it that way and “better than ever.” FOX31’s Alliyah Sims spoke with Andrew Goetz, a professor in the Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of Denver, about the potential impacts and the future that lies ahead for the area. He said many overbuilt parking lots in Denver are often underfilled and effectively a waste of space, and said there is “tremendous potential” for redevelopment. “By redeveloping that area, integrating it in with the River Mile project, you can create something that’s really transformative, can address the needs the city has in terms of affordable housing as well as providing a focal point for renewed development in that area,” he said. He added that the economic impact may be significant in terms of attracting people to the area for sports events and other activities. “Plus, having the housing, a more permanent stable activity that goes on, plus supporting retail, that’s all things that’s going to support the redevelopment of the area quite a bit, so I think it has a good deal of potential,” he said. -
Disneyland Paris has shared an update about their current refurbishment of Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast which is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year! https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/a-major-refurbishment-for-buzz-lightyear-laser-blast-until-the-end-of-2025/ A major refurbishment for Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast until the end of 2025 Attention, Space Rangers! Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast has closed its doors for a major refurbishment, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025. Here’s a sneak peek at the extensive work being carried out! Over the coming months, teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Maintenance, and Central Workshops will be working extensively on this interactive Discoveryland attraction, a favourite among guests of Disneyland® Paris. Many aspects will undergo major upgrades – or even complete replacements – to ensure the best possible guest experience. A Refreshed Star Command The attraction’s highly stylized façade, covered in radars, energy-collecting towers, and futuristic pillars that represent Star Command’s space station, will be repainted – along with the marquee and the iconic nearly -two-meter-tall Buzz Lightyear statue. The neon lighting on the five towers and radar dishes will also be completely redone to provide even more vibrant lighting. Thorough Work on the XP-41 Space Cruisers Guests will benefit from newer technology in their mission to defend the toy galaxy from the evil Emperor Zurg: all current Astro Blasters, which allow them to shoot targets, will be completely dismantled and replaced. Additionally, many of the ride vehicles will be repainted and equipped with new dashboards featuring improved displays. A Brighter Galaxy in Focus This fantastic space adventure will return brighter than ever: inside the attraction, lighting will be completely overhauled with the replacement of all spotlights and the refurbishment of special lighting effects. Some of the targets – used by guests to score points in the battle against Zurg and his army of toy robots – will also be replaced with new ones, offering improved precision and performance. Beyond these changes, many other technical and visual aspects of the attraction will be refurbished during this closure, including the restoration of several Audio-Animatronics®. Over the coming months, all teams involved in this ambitious project will be hard at work to bring Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast back in top form by the end of 2025.

Disneyland Paris has shared updates on two of their iconic "mountains" as they enhance and refurbish these classic coasters. https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/new-light-display-for-star-warstm-hyperspace-mountain-exterior/ In celebration of the 30th anniversary of this iconic Discoveryland attraction in 2025, the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery teams are currently developing a brand- new light concept for the exterior of Star WarsTM Hyperspace Mountain. The project, which began nearly 2 years ago, is taking shape a little more each evening with the gradual replacement of over 640 luminaires – requiring over 17 kilometres of cabling – the modernisation of technical equipment, the repainting of the roof and the creation of new technical access points to facilitate maintenance operations. Once completed, this upgrade will deliver a breathtaking experience – not only for passengers aboard Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, but also for all Discoveryland guests, who will be able to enjoy the stunning light eHects generated each time a vehicle launches. To successfully complete this project, the teams also had the opportunity to work with the lighting designer who worked on the original 1995 attraction! As well as restoring the attraction’s majestic roof to its original splendour, the new lighting will feature all-new eHects to enhance this iconic Discoveryland landmark. See you later this summer to discover the results of this interstellar transformation – and to continue exploring galaxies far, far away… https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/a-day-at-star-wars-hyperspace-mountain/ To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Parisian version of the beloved attraction Space Mountain, Disneyland Paris’ teams have recorded an exclusive behind-the-scenes video revealing how the magic of this ride – which first opened on June 1, 1995 – comes to life. From its breathtaking opening ceremony to its recent transformation into Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, the history of this iconic dome-shaped attraction has been marked by many unforgettable moments. That same history continues to be written by the resort’s Operations and Maintenance teams, who help “transport guests to a galaxy far, far away” each day, while ensuring their journey is both smooth and safe. And there’s still more to come: new collectible items dreamed up by Disneyland Paris’ Merchandising teams will soon arrive in shops, and the attraction’s outdoor lighting setup is currently being redesigned! Stay tuned for more updates! https://news.disneylandparis.com/en/big-thunder-mountain-the-wildest-ride-in-the-west-to-reopen-on-21-june/ On 21 June 2025, the iconic Big Thunder Mountain attraction will once again welcome visitors to Frontierland®, following several months of renovation led by the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Design & Delivery, Maintenance and Central Workshops teams. Over the last few months, a wide range of specialists with a variety of skills have been taking great care of Big Thunder Mountain, one of the most popular attractions at Disneyland® Paris. Their objective: to ensure the attraction is meticulously maintained, preserving the quality of the experience while honouring the original creative vision and safeguarding its story, which remains deeply intertwined with that of Frontierland®. In addition to the in-depth maintenance of the tunnels and rails, with certain stretches being completely replaced, parts of the mountain were repainted, and the arch was cleaned using drones – a first for the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams. Some of the attraction’s water, visual and sound effects have also been reworked or restored. The highly detailed scenery of Big Thunder Mountain was not left out – certain wooden elements like Mill Camp Tower were dismantled for restoration before being reinstalled on the mountain. Hundreds of accessories, visible both throughout the attraction and its queue line, have been carefully cleaned, repainted, and given a patina in the Disneyland® Paris Central Workshops to preserve the authentic, timeworn look of this gold-rush-era mine. For larger pieces, such as the Lavinia steam engine visible from the queue area, the work was carried out directly on site. The attraction’s animal figures, such as the mules, opossums and bats, were restored and repainted in the Central Workshops, and some were even given a brand-new coat, like the emblematic the goat. This ambitious project, necessary for the smooth running of the attraction that is open all year round and mainly outdoors, required collaboration between teams from Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Design & Delivery, Maintenance and Central Workshops, who worked tirelessly to renovate the wildest ride in the wilderness in the West!

The next morning would bring another first for me beyond those found on a new ship... This would be my first time visiting Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! The new island destination opened just over a year ago at the southern tip of Eleuthera as a complementary destination to Disney Cruise Line's original island destination, Disney Castaway Cay. The destination has been in development since early 2019 and the years since have involved significant environmental review and work to minimize impact, develop a sustainable operation and to honor the local culture and wildlife. A new open-trestle pier allows the ship to dock at the island, without requiring the dredging that traditional piers have called for. All of this to say that years of anticipation had built up for me to see and experience this new port of call. We loaded up on breakfast knowing that we had an active day ahead of us... I just love it. The walk from the ship to the end of the open-trestle pier is roughly equivalent to the walk from the ship to the family beach on Disney Castaway Cay. The entrance plaza from the pier features a few small kiosks and counters to allow for early shopping and snack purchases. Not unlike on Disney Castaway Cay, you take a shuttle from the main arrival spot to the beach area. Disney T'ings carry a good variety of just that. Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point features the Rush Out Gush Out water play area with slides, tipping buckets, spray nozzles and fountains. Some signature art from the island, created by a local Bahamian artist who consulted on much of the art styles found across Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. A look at everything offered within this island destination. The red path is the tram route which crosses the island to bring you from the arrival location to the beach area. It was a little gloomy out during our visit, plus it was surprisngly cold during our cruise, but the beach was beautiful. RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration takes place at the Goombay Cultural Center, a covered, elevated pavilion in the middle of the island's beach area. The pavilion is used for activities and crafts between performances and the beachfront serves doubly as the seating area for the start of the show. RUSH! continues out into the main street of the beach area for more musical fun. True-True BBQ is the island destination's main buffet dining option with a great variety of flavors, both accessible and more unique to the region. I tried a little bit of everything and I loved a bit of all of it. In preservation of the natural environment of Eleuthera, much of the guest-accessible pathways and areas are elevated so as to not disturb the wildlife and vegetation below. Sebastian's Cove is the youth activities space on the island, where younger guests can check in (as an extension of Disney's Oceaneer's Club onboard) in a youth-exclusive space for water and dry play. A look at the water play area at Scuttle's Cove. A look at the family cabanas set up along one of the island's beautiful beachfronts. Quite a view! Looking back at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point from the Disney Treasure... And a look at the family cabanas within view. We pulled away from the pier with a send off from the locals who help to support the island operation each day that a ship is in port. Second lunch (the first taking place on the island) featured some fresh steak tacos from Donald's Cantina on the upper deck! Our first dinner in Worlds of Marvel for the cruise--one of my favorites across the fleet, as a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of my favorite design elements in the restaurant. The venue feels very distinctly Marvel. Flavors of the world area featured across the first Worlds of Marvel dinner's menu. Disneyland fans should appreciate this nod. Ultron is one of my favorite (underutilized) Marvel villains, so I love that he serves as Avengers: Quantum Encounter's main protagonist. Here's the beef. You had me at key lime pie. Ant-Man and The Wasp are not the only MCU heroes to make an appearance during the show. The show has even been updated since it originally debuted on the Disney Wish (before The Marvels was released). Now, Ms. Marvel interacts with Captain Marvel where before, the show featured a number of comedic near-miss moments between the two. The parade of Pym Particle-enlarged desserts at the end of the meal has also been replaced with a surprise appearance by Spider-Man! Look at him--he is the captain now! Back in the atrium storytellers Sage and Coriander were regaling guests with a retelling of Aladdin. The storytellers' caravan includes many recognizable books... Sage and Coriander play multiple characters during each story. There's an entertaining take on "A Whole New World..." And a surprise appearance during the finale. Love. I was able to play charades with Donald, which was a blast. We were greeted in our stateroom by a new towel animal and something else... We received an awesome lithograph to commemorate our visit to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point during its inaugural season! A great end to a fantastic day!
