Today we continue our coverage of IAAPA with tons of more photos from the show floor! We will be updating this thread throughout the day, but if you want to follow all the action live, be sure to follow us on the TPR Twitter and Facebook pages: http://www.facebook.com/themeparkreview Do you see it? What better way to start the day than with some Coca-Cola products! The Soaring Eagle zip line debuted at last year's IAAPA and has been sold to a few smaller parks including the recently revamped Splash Adventure (Alabama Adventure). Jake made a friend on the Screaming Eagle zipline! S&S is launching (pun intended) a new version of their space shot towers with new circular seating for increased capacity. Maurer Sohne has retired the Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit model in favor of showing off its more recent model, Freischütz. Ropes Courses has brought back its signature Sky Trail with a bigger and scarier layout than ever before... Plus they've brought in a junior version of the Sky Trail for the kids to enjoy. Delorean! Did you know that Intamin worked on Mickey's Fun Wheel at Disney California Adventure? Whitewater has a bar at their booth! Mack is showing off a new version of their Twist 'n' Splash that would use significantly larger ride vehicles to create a spinning pirate ship water battle. Sad day... Waiting to get the scoop on the next big coaster to end up at Six Flags Great Adventure! Huge examples of dark ride theming can be found throughout the show floor. Animatronics are also a major part of the show's vendor focus. Could this S&S concept observation tower/coaster combo end up becoming a reality? We're in Proslide heaven right now! Domo!

This is exactly how it will be. The SimCar you design in the pre-show will go with you on the ride to be scored against the "ideal" car you are riding in. You'll get your scores at the end of the ride and will be able to take your SimCar into several post show experiences to further put it to the test.

I think you are worrying too much about the idea that certain menu items will be cut. Based on the existing location at California Adventure, we can expect the standard Starbucks menu items AND more. I can't imagine that they'll cut out the popular items that have been sold there for years. If anything this is adding variety to the bakery's menu, not taking it away. I really think people are overreacting about the idea of Starbucks moving in. They aren't taking over the locations... The cast members who work them still work for Disney and not Starbucks. This will still be a Disney establishment at the end of the day. I have a feeling that if it was announced that Nescafé or Joffrey's were going to be sold in these locations (as they actually are throughout Walt Disney World), we wouldn't be dealing with so much resistance. It is the addition of new products, not new management... There really shouldn't be anything for anyone to worry about.

^^^I understand while people are apprehensive about Starbucks moving into the bakery, I really don't have a worry about how it is being done because if Fiddler, Fifer & Practical is any example of a how great a mixed operation can work in the parks, then the Florida operations should work out as well. The service there is great, you can get your Starbucks products but a lot of other things as well (like some incredible sandwiches that I hope come to the bakery with this overlay) and the Starbucks culture/theming/tones are nonintrusive in the venue's theming. If they take the same approach with these new venues in Orlando, I'll be thrilled!

Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
jedimaster1227 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Today Robb and Elissa had the chance to attend a unique grand opening event for the new Star Wars Miniland Expansion at Legoland Florida. This new expansion located in the already fantastic Miniland section of the park features seven unique areas, each themed to one of the six films along with one section dedicated to the Clone Wars show. In attendance at today's event were a number of Darth Vaders, making for some unique photo opportunities as you'll see below... Let's take a look! Welcome back to the beautiful Legoland Florida! Park General Manager Adrian Jones led the ceremony once again, welcoming the media to this exciting new expansion for the park. They used a lightsaber to cut the ribbon! How awesome is that? If you haven't realized this by now, I'm a huge Star Wars geek and truly wish I was there at this event... LEGO Ewoks! I really can't wait to check this out myself! The Clone Wars section is huge and has interactive elements built into the displays! Well that's something you don't see everyday! Here we see both Tatooine and Hoth represented in Lego form. If you remember from our interview with Adrian Jones at the Lego Star Wars Miniland announcement, the Millenium Falcon was his favorite part of the project. Remember Geonosis from Episode II: Attack of the Clones? How about Naboo from Episode 1: A Phantom Menace? The iconic coliseum scene from Attack of the Clones. It is just like my Bar Mitzvah! Elissa, you have no idea how jealous I am right now! My jealousy is seriously growing by the second! Back to the Endor moon from Episode VI: Return of the Jedi! And that awesome Darth Maul model we saw from the announcement has found his home in Lego Star Wars Miniland! And what better note to close on than with the Wampa. Seriously folks, if you are Star Wars fans you have one extra reason to get out to Legoland Florida! Special thanks to Legoland Florida for hosting Theme Park Review at today's event! -

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

^While we appreciate your feelings regarding the ride, I need to remind you that your posting style is currently not in line with our Terms of Service. Please use proper capitalization and punctuation in your posts from now on. Having ridden Son of Beast during its time with the loop, I enjoyed it. Looking back at its troubled journey, I accept its demolition as a necessary step for the park to replace it with something more functional, more exciting and ultimately, less risky.
