^^I dare you to find me any guest that out of sheer happenstance would be presented with a photo comparison of the coaster in its previous location versus the current. In no normal circumstance would ANY general guest look at a coaster like this one that just opened (with a marketing program promoting it as a new coaster) and say "Deben de haber trasladado esta montaña rusa skate Tony Hawk desde el parque San Francisco ... Tenemos que pasa esto."

Today Theme Park Review was invited to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Aquatica Orlando! The day's festivities were brief but fun with some dancing, some animals, cake, raffle prizes for the general guests and much more! Be sure to watch the video below for a look at the "birthday" ceremony, a Laughing Kookabura laughing (yes, it reads exactly as I mean it to) and an interview with Park Vice President Bryan Nadeau. [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Aquatica_5th_pat1[/coastertube] This was a public celebration, so the park's guests were included in the festivities, starting with lots of dancing. It wouldn't be an Aquatica event without some awesome animals! New SyFy B-Movie in the making: Mini Croc! Followed by Mini Croc vs. Mega Croc vs. Sharktopus! Ever heard a Laughing Kookabura laugh? Watch the video and you too can joining me in saying that I have. The Laughing Kookabura wanted to get in on picking raffle tickets for the guest prizes! There was even a celebratory sale going on in the park's main gift shop. In the spirit of the park's fifth anniversary, let's take a quick look at the park and some of the improvements that have been made since our last visit. Shade structures have been added over the queues for Whanau Way and Omaka Rocka. Roa's Rapids is still one of the neatest water attractions in all of Central Florida! Taumata Racers is still one of the most thrilling... It was a gorgeous day to be celebrating at Aquatica! Hooroo Run never fails to produce some amazing facial expressions. A Haystack Dryer was recently added to the park. I've always been a fan of the way Tassie's Twisters were placed in the park. And the star of the show is Dolphin Plunge, sending guests underwater into a tank featuring Commersons Dolphins. I had another amazing day at Aquatica today! I've made it a point to revisit the park every year as it continues to grow and get even better! If you haven't been yet, or haven't been in a while, come by to check out Aquatica Orlando--you won't be disappointed!

I, Big Daddy Roth approve. It is great to see another Jiggidy Johnson update! Glad to see you geek out as much as me over the new Test Track! You meant me, right Chuck? -

^If you don't mind elaborating, what of Legoland's proposal was ridiculous? Without seeing the details, we here are only able to judge based on what we know of the brand, and having seen how they successfully revived Cypress Gardens to become Legoland Florida while keeping the soul and essence of the park intact, I have a lot of faith in that group. -
Yesterday Theme Park Review had the opportunity to get an in-depth look at this year's Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Florida. The event sports new parade floats, a new lineup of performers for the famous concert series and plenty of great food and atmosphere to support the themed festivities! We were given the unique chance to go behind the scenes to see the Mardi Gras parade floats during the daytime including the three newest floats (plus one that underwent a partial upgrade). The Dia de los Muertos float is a new addition to the parade and it looks amazing (both during the day and at night)! And it wouldn't be a Mardi Gras parade without stilt walkers. The New Orleans Bourbon Street float was also new and possibly the most elaborate. The float features real fire, changing lights in the Jazz Club and stylized architecture inspired by the real Bourbon Street. On our way to the next stop, we couldn't help but notice the nearly complete building facade for Transformers: The Ride. The talented live band setup is now located next to the French Quarter Courtyard near Revenge of the Mummy. Upstairs at Lombard's, Corporate Executive Chef Steven Jayson (the man responsible for Butterbeer and Pumpkin Juice) introduced our night's food selections. There was an authentic crawfish boil (spicy but amazing) as well as a thick gumbo (equally spicy but delicious)! The jambalaya was great! Lombard's offers a great view of the Universal Cinematic Spectacular! So much great food! There was King Cake, praline cheesecake and bread pudding. I was floating on cloud nine with that praline cheesecake. Next we were escorted to an elevated media box for a unique view of the first Mardi Gras parade of the season. You wouldn't believe how big some of the floats are! Another of the new floats for the year was the Year of the Dragon float, featuring bright lights and neat fog effects. And here's the awesome new Dia de los Muertos float we saw backstage. So much confetti! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this parade! The evening wrapped with a performance by Lifehouse on the Universal Music Plaza Stage. And they were surprisingly very entertaining! Thanks again to Universal Orlando for hosting us for the first night of Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Florida!

Yesterday Theme Park Review was invited back to SeaWorld Orlando to check out the start of this year's Bands, Brew & BBQ! Once again this event (a favorite of mine) features great food, great drinks, plenty of music and as always, a fantastic atmosphere to enjoy it all with SeaWorld as a beautiful backdrop! Free to roam the park for the day, we took the chance to sample several different food items, as well as to check out much of what the whole event has to offer... We've got credentials! Bands, Brew & BBQ takes place on the right side of the park, running along the shore of the park's lagoon all the way past the Atlantis Bayside Stadium. With four different food vendors to choose from you can pick from a diverse menu of freshly prepared BBQ and fixins. Take for example the always BBQ spareribs from SeaWorld. A great deal offered at Bands, Brew & BBQ is the Craft Brew Sampler for , allowing guests to choose 10 beers to sample from the 25+ offered in the special event area. Single servings of the individual craft brews can also be purchased for each. So much food to enjoy! This was the first I've ever seen of the product in the field before but you can buy Copa de Vino "Premium Wine By the Glass" at event as well. This product was featured on ABC's Shark Tank twice. This year the event offers additional seating for those eating at the event as well as a live simulcast of the day's concert for those not seated at the Atlantis Bayside stadium. There's line dancing... And did we mention?... More food! I decided to brave the Cecil's Texas Style Bar-B-Q bacon-wrapped jalapenos... You can see my face starting to get a little red from the jalapeno's heat. Seconds later my skull erupted into flames. The Atlantis Bayside Stadium, home to the former water ski and boating shows of SeaWorld's past, plays host to the Bands, Brew & BBQ concerts. We had the chance to see Jerrod Niemann open for Chris Young, and he was pretty good! It was a gorgeous day at the already fantastic looking park, which added even more enjoyment to our visit! Bands, Brew & BBQ has a packed lineup of performers set for weekends through March 17th. And to close, a brief look at the growing rockwork over at Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin opening later this year at SeaWorld Orlando.
