Sorry...I didn't mean to sound rude...I was just concerned...didn't want DAFE to get in trouble since we promised them we wouldn't publish any photos from the inside portions of the tour. I was not aware that people had already posted photos from down inside the maintenance area, the maintenance lift, inside the tunnel near the drop, and up from the ground inside the headframe looking up at lift 1. Where were those posted? I'd love to see those. I assumed that DAFE was the first group to get the behind-the-scenes tour. What group was first? -Derek

Thanks, man! I'm almost done filming!!! I hope to finish filming at least tomorrow night...because that is the last night I'll get to work on it for a whole week because we're going to the DAFE Dollywood event! Here are a couple of screens from tonight's shoots to tide you over...something terrible happened that Halloween night in 1939... -Derek

Yes...please post your video! I'd love to see that...and I love the creaks and groans of the ride "train"! Of course you kinda wonder if the whole place is about to collapse out from under you sometimes... -Derek -
Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread

I guess I'm in the minority here...maybe I'm just weird but I like Spaceship Earth the way it is. I admit that it has its flaws...but I really like it. My wife and I always park at Epcot and take the bus or monorail to the other parks and then come back to Epcot each night to ride Spaceship Earth a few times and watch Illuminations. And I LOVE Jeremy Irons' narration...I hope they don't change that too much...and as hokey as the music score is...I love it...Wow...this breaks my heart...but I'll get over it I guess. -Derek -
Actually, you will still get an awesome view of the water from the top...remember at the top of the lift there is the 270 degree flat turnaround...you'll get an amazing panoramic view from the top before the big head-choppin' drop. Great pictures, Jason!! We'll have to "meet for lunch" in Kemah this summer sometime! LOL! -Derek

Yep...that's me! The POV will come soon...I've just been super busy with real-life...sorry about the wait. I turned up the video settings a bit for these: front of lobby: New boiler room screens including the never-before-seen lower level: Just because I felt like showing them...heh...didn't have time to film tonight...just snapped these shots to tide you over some more. -Derek

THANKS!!! Hey, I was looking through some archives and ran across these treasures here. They are some old publicity newspaper photos of the Hollywood Tower Hotel in 1938...before the incident in 1939 that closed the hotel...sorry the images are so bad...but its the best I've been able to find so far...(Oh...and yeah...the film will show footage of the hotel in its heyday...) -Derek

Thanks! Yep...lag was awful...but not near as bad as it is right now on my Tower of Terror LOL! The "room with all the clowns" was my attempt at a hall of mirrors, hence the clowns and blood splats reflected endlessly into the distance. And yeah...the ride show building was quite large...this early overhead shot gives you an idea of the size: The ride in the distance is my ride called Rotterghast Castle. Screens and video for it can be found here: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=524081 The tilthouse queue line was made by placing a queue path sideways on sloped land tiles. Here is a map of the ride I made: Thanks agian! Derek -

Well...the rides are already in the game...I just colored them dark colors...and the Freaks tent I made out of custom scenery pieces from various sets like JCat's Screamworx and Shyguy's Circus Center Set. Thanks, guys! -Derek
