  1. Here is the newest list. Tilt-A-Whirls- Western Playland, Cedar Point, Astroland, Midway Park, Waldameer Park, SFMM, Castle Park. Round-Ups- Western Playland, SFMM. I can't believe there are still so many Tilt-A-Whirls! I have a crazy idea. I think that there are more Tilt-A-Whirls then Chance's Double Inverters. Lets see if there are more old school rides than the new Double Inverter. So post Double Inverters too. Here is a link to a picture of a Double Inverter- http://mediatheek.thinkquest.nl/~llb215/images/Double_inverter.jpg
  2. Borg Assimalator is one of the best roller coasters I have been on. The only thing bothering me is that it never got this much attention when it was at PGA. I like Borg but I know 10 better coasters than the Borg.
  3. HIT THE ROAD VORTEX! Vortex is a cool ride but it's time to upgrade to something new.
  4. I think it would have been better for Knott's if they aired the commercial a month before they opened. It is kind of stupid to air it now. Theme parks are showing there commercials for 4th of July.
  5. ^ Thanks coasterlicious! Here is the updated list. Tilt-A-Whirls- Western Playland, Cedar Point, Midway Park, Astroland, and Waldameer Park. Round-Ups- Western Playland
  6. Nice photos! I have always wanted to ride the Thunder Dolphin! Is it any good. It looks awesome to me!
  7. The only reason I would go to Carrowinds is to ride the Borg Assimalator! One of the best coasters ever!
  8. This site might help also- http://www.coasterforce.com.
  9. I know they are getting rare but why? Round Ups are thrilling intense rides that don't cost too much. They are perfect for parks that don't have much money. Tilt-A-Whirls are pretty cool and can be intense when they want to be. I am going to start a list of where these two rides are. Round Ups- Western Playland Tilt-A-Whorls- Western Playland, Cedar Point
  10. I always thought it was Sheeek rae until I heard it on tv.
  11. That was a very cool Trip Report! I liked the pictures a lot. I am surprised that Deja Vu was open half a day. I can't believe they have young people running the park. I would love working at a theme park but I wouldn't want to ride a ride that a 14 year old is running. They need better crowd control. I like how you called the Deja Vu a Vekoma break a lot! I know how it feels to go to a theme park with family. When I was 13 we went to Dollywood and I was to small to go on my own. My parents said I was selfish for wanting to go to roller coaster since my little sisters and cousins can't ride them. And they will never move on! It takes them forever to get around the park. At least now I can go to theme parks by myself and do whatever I want!
  12. Western Playland Amusement Park here in El Paso Texas has a Round-Up called La Ruleta, and a Tilt-A-Whirl. I have only seen these rides here in El Paso and in Carnivals. I was wondering if any other amusement parks have these rides? Here is a link to pictures of a Round Up and a Tilt-A-Whirl. Round-Up http://www.deggeller.com/mid/n-s2/images/round-up.jpg Tilt-A-Whirl- http://www.rides4u.com/usedrides/tilt-a-whirl%20138.jpg If you know where one of these rides are located, or know information on these rides, or have pictures of them please post!
  13. ^ I agree with you coasterlicious. The Discovery Channel has outdated information. I still think the shows are pretty cool but since it's the Discovery Channel, you would think they would have up to date stats!
  14. I have seen the first one. It is a really cool show. Discovery Channel always has awesome shows on roller coasters! I just watched a amusement park movie about a week ago and it was so boring. It was made in 1990, when I was born. I din't realize how boring amusement parks were when I was born.
  15. I don't think that Sheikra has the first water effect. The Incredible Hulk and the Italian Stunt Track has water effects and they opened before Sheikra. Isn't a water effect anything that has to do with water? Many coasters wet you with water. Aren't they considered water effects?
  16. That was an awesome trip report. There were so many photos, just the way I like it. It sounds like you had a pretty cool time! I was surprised to see that there is a Round-Up ride besides the one here in El Paso. I thought we were the only ones who had one! The wter ride boats that looked like owls were cool. The huge drop ride looks intense! Overall I would rate your Trip Report a 10/10. Looking foward to seeing another trip report from you! The hamster wheel looks insane!
  17. Thanks for all your help (I think). I wasn't planning on starting out big. Maybe a couple of used hamptons and maybe a really cheap thrill ride. I just want something that can make some money. From there I will grow. Some used rides you only pay in bills every month. So I would make money from the ride every month to pay the bill and when it is payed for and I can keep the money it rakes in. I look at http://www.usedrides.com . It is the best used ride site on the web. If you think about it, they have 2 hampton rides for $5,000. I think if I start small I can do it. Then they have a rock-o-plane for only $10,000. With those 3 rides it would only be $15,000 and I will be paying it monthly. Keep posting!
  18. I am serious about owning my own amusement park when I grow up but I don't know how. How do I get the money, how do I buy the land, how do I get city permission? I want to start out with very few rides and add more when I make money. I just need to know how to get started. Please help!
  19. What is your most favorite Paramounts park? Even though PGA has been downsized and got rid of 2 cool coasters, I pick PGA. I picked PGA because it was the first theme park I had ever gone to and I still have a great time when I go there. For PGA info visit- http://www.themeparksandcoasters.bravehost.com
  20. Good trip report and nice photos. Were they only running one train on some of the coasters because it wasn't as packed as a normal day otr were thay being worked on? It is stupid to run only run train. 4 flags New England is funny!
  21. ^ Kingda Ka is only a couple mph faster and a couple of feet higher than Top Thrill Dragster. There pretty much the same. I haven't ridden Kingda Ka either so I can't really say Kingda Ka is better.
  22. ^ This is what I heard. El Paso only has Westermn Playland amusement park and there was talk about El Paso getting a Six Flags. So before they built a Six Flags here, Six Flags sent a fair to El Paso to see how buisness was. It's 2 years later and nothing yet. I want a Six Flags. By the way, I like your avatar!
  23. I picked Top Thrill Dragster. Just look at my avatar and signature. It is the the best roller coaster out there. The only bad thing I have to say about it is the down time.
  24. What is your most favorite dark ride? I haven't really rode any yet except the Blazing Fury at Dollywood and Scream at a Six Flags Fair. How are they? Is Tower of Terror considered a dark ride?
  25. What made you interested in roller coasters and at what age. I got interested in coasters when I was about 8. I went to PGA and I rode my first ever coaster. The Grizzly. Just the way it felt got me into them.
