  1. I saw the video and I was disapointed. I was expecting a lot more of this ride. It doesn't look like a coaster I would wait in line for 3 hours. I thought this coaster was going to be the best coaster that opened up this year but I was wrong. The cars look cool but that was the only thing I liked about it.
  2. I usually like sitting in the back. On a Pinfari coaster, it may seem that it goes slow but when you sit in the back that thing flys! When you ride in the back you can't feel the brakes slowing you down unlike the front of the train. I usually sit in the front when I just want to go on a calm ride because the front never feels fast or intense. But it also depends on the coaster.
  3. Thanks for the help! I think PGA is stupid how they are running there park. I can't believe they took away Triple Play! That was one of my favorite rides there. Are they putting in a new ride there and why did they move it in the first place? Is it going to be kept in storage or sent to another park?
  4. I had never heard of Pokepark until now. I looked it up and it seems pretty cool. The roller coaster you were talking about is called "Twister: Fury In The Sky". It doesn't have inversions like you said . It was made by Zamperla and it is a family, powered coaster. It opened on 3-18-05. Poke Park has 27 attractions . As for rides they have the roller coaster, a carasaul with Pokemon, a HUGE Ferris Wheel, and others called, Sky Revolution, Crazy Train, Wave Shock, Devil Mansion, Ice World and a couple others. They are opening a new area called "Sea Train Land". It will have 6 attractions. If you want more info on the coaster go to rcdb.com. There wbsite is www.senyo.co.jp. The website is in Japanese but there is a place you can click for the english version. The Ferris Wheel was the biggest one I have ever seen!
  5. I usually ask my questions one at a time on other posts but now I decided I will ask all the questions I have here. If you know the answers please post! Paramount's Great America - Ever since PGA got rid of Greazed Lightning and the Stealth they now only have about 7-8 coasters compared to around 12-14 at the other Paramont parks. Are there plans for a new coaster at PGA? - What did they put in the place of the Greazed Lightning? - Is it true that during the off season PGA had to disassemble Top Gun and rebuild it because it was sinking due to the marshy land it was built on? - Did PGA get rid of any rides besides the 2 coasters or add any besides the water park? - Why didn't PGA get the Italian Stunt Job when they only have 7 coasters? Dollywood - Is the Thunderhead already riding rough after only one year of operation? This is what I heard from people in Tennessee. - Is the Tennessee Tornadoe still running both trains or just 1. When I went last summer they were running only one and I saw the other dissasembled. - Did Dollywood remove any rides for the new rides they have now? - What new rides did they add at Dollywood? - Does anybody know what the original color of the Tennessee Tornadoe. It looks red orange right now. Very ugly and in need of a paint job! - When I went to Dollywood last summer they had the train running and we past by another one and the guy said that that train would be running along with the one we were riding. Are both trains running now? Other - What do you mean when people say Flyers snap? - Are other parks getting a Topple Tower and how much does one cost? - What is the tallest Drop Zone in the world?
  6. I like the Paramounts parks because they have such cool roller coasters except for the Grizzly at PGA. They have something for everybody. Roller coasters for thrill riders, family rides for the family, and kiddie rides for the kids.
  7. That ride looks so cool! UI just wish it was a little bigger but it still looks like a great ride. Does anybody know if other parks are getting one?
  8. Nice Pics! I love the ones from Dollywood. Where did you take the pictures of the Thunderhead and the Tennessee Tornadoe? It looks as if you were right in front of them. Do the roller coasters still run as good as last summer. I heard the Thunderhead is already starting to ride rough but I don't believe it. Is the Tennessee Tornadoe still running 2 trains or just one. When I went in the summer last year one of them was disasembled. I know they added new rides to Dollywood but I didn't know they added the Disco ride. Did you go to the water park too? By the way, Nascar Park did look kinda spooky!
  9. I didn't even know that there were rumors of a rocket coaster being built. I'll try to get more info and if I do I will post as soon as I get back. What is Six Flags Over Texas latest coaser? What type of Water Rides and Thrill Rides do they have? How are they?
  10. Western Playland is moving to Sunland Park New Mexico. They are moving because the city denied the park a 20 acre expansion for a CCI Woddie and a water park. The city wouldn't let it grow with El Paso. Western Playland has a Pinfari roller coaster. For Thrill rides they have, 90ft Drop Zone, Himalaya, Tilt-a-Whirl, a Round Up called La Ruleta, a Pharoh from Chance Rides, a Yo-Yo, a Scrambler, and a Paratrooper. They have three water rides, a log flume called Splahdown, A double water slide called Snake Mountain, and another called Tsunami. The have about 10 kiddie rides. Western Playland is more towards family fun than a thrilling coaster park. It is still a fun place to go. When they move they will take all the thrill rides and the roller coaster with them and leave the water rides and kiddie rides to finish out there contract. El Paso is a very stupid city when it comes to haveing fun stuff in the city. We had a chance to get a Six Flags and a Sea World and they said no. Now they are losing there only Amusement Park. I am gald Western Playland is moving. I willstill be able to go. The new park will have about 3 new thrill rides, a new sky glider, and a new roller coaster. They will expand little by litlle because now they have 66 acres compared to there 15 acre limit.
  11. Does Six Flags Over Texas allow cameras on the rides? Do you need permission? I usually just go in with the camera or go on the rides but sometimes the parks made me get permission. Are all the coasters usually running or do some of them have maintanence problems. I want to go on all the roller coasters! How is Titan? Is it any good?
  12. The water park closest to me is the Wet N Wild Water World. It is really fun there. They have this water slide called the Alien Vortex where you fall head first into the water! This place is awesome!
  13. I felt very unsafe on the La Ruleta at Western Playland. It is a Round Up. The ride started jerking like crazy and the ride started to lower back to the ground but then when straight back up. It evn started making cracking noises. When I got off the ride, they closed it down and called the maintanence. I was really freaked out during the whole ride!
  14. I am going to Six Flags Over Texas in the summer and it will be my first time there. Is it any good. I have heard good and bad things about the place but what do you think? When I come back I will put a trip report with photos and maybe even a video because I take my camera on all the roller coasters I can. Is Six Flags Fiesta Texas any better?
  15. How much does it usually cost to paint a whole roller coaster? Wouldn't it be expensive because of the special type of paint they use?
  16. Which roller coasters do you think are in need of a new paint job. I thing the Top Gun at PGA needs a coat of paint. It would be cool to see the Top Gun in Jet Black paint. Post pictures of the coasters too!
  17. I like learning about abandoned amusement parks and I was wondering if anybody has information on any abandoned amusement parks. Does anybody also have pictures of some. Or maybe there is some website with just abandoned amusement parks. Even if you know about some rides that were left in the middle of nowhere I would like information on. Can anybody help?
  18. That coaster looks so cool. Imagine if the coaster was still running? The fog and foilage would be the perfect scenery and the rusted track gives it more of an effect. The other ride looks creepy too because it has so much color and it is next to the roller coaster which has no color. Does anybody know any information about this park? Does anybody know what type of roller coasters they were or what type of rides the other ones are?
  19. Sorry for asking a stupid question but what is a CCI Woodie. I was reading that my city denied Western Playland a 20 acre expansion for a CCI Woodie. That would of been a huge boost for Western Playland because they only have one coaster made by Pinfari called the El Bandito.
  20. I live in El Paso Texas and my home park is Western Playland. It is a average sized amusement park with only one roller coaster. I am trying to get some information about Western Playland. I have been trying to find the old rides of Western Playland and where they are now. Maybe even some pictures of them. On rcdb, it showed three of the old roller coasters that currently dont operate their now but nothing else. I also want to know when the rides currently at Western Playland were made and opened. I basically want any info that I can get on Western Playland. If you know anything or know a website that may help me please post! Any infomation I will appreciate!
  21. I like the new stuff that they are doing to the park. I might visit this year. Hurricane Harbor sounds good right now. It's like 105 degrees here!
  22. What is your favorite Inversion on any roller coaster. I like the loops on the Tennessee Tornadoe at Dollywood. They are so big! I like the weightless feeling it gives unlike some other loops.
  23. I agree that there are not enough dark rides. Those are some of my favorite rides. I think every Theme Park should have one. I think Theme Parks don't have many of them is because of all the upkeep. There are so many props and electrical equipment that it might just be too much of a pain. Here in El Paso, the amusement park Western Playland had a haunted house and it had a electrical problem and the haunted house burned down. These are the reasons why Theme parks don't have many of them.
  24. I would love to ride a roller coaster for days and days! I rode the Brizzly at PGA over 15 times in a row because there was no line at all! I would even ride a roller coaster over and over for nothing!
  25. Sorry to post again but I had a question. Is it true that PGA had to take down the Stealth and Top Gun for a while because they started sinking into the marshy land that they sat on?
