SharkTums: What Now: Millenniumguy: Nothing much is set in stone and I'm well open for sudgestions from anyone ! Me and my girlfriend (Charley) both live in England shes going 2 a kids camp in america as some kina helper, she gets free tickets to and from New york, after the camp she can stay in the country for up to a month beffor using her return flight, I'm planing on going out to she her for it, travling alot, then probably split up for the journey back (as we probaby wont want to end up and new york again) I love roller coasters and want to go to loads of park and she wants to she lots of sights and famouse places (but has already been to new york, califonia, that big hole, and some other places when she was about 7) so i have to meet her 1/2 way and do things we both like doing. As I'm from England i dont even know how long it takes to travel by car end to end. The north south tour sounds good but some of the parks Millenniumguy said about looked abit bog standard (I'm sure then ok but not worth travling round the world for) some looked great tho! what about west to east? could i do it stoping off at parks and sights all the way to california (or wherever) in a month? I've heard of route 66 goes east to west, thats not NY to California is it ? I could drive all the way from here to russia if i wanted but i dont have a clue when it comes to the states, if anyone knows a good route or area would be great, california and florida look like get places but whats near then? i really want to go to cedar point and thats in the middel somewhere, your contrys to big! The six flags pass sounds great! could i visit them all? and is it really just $50 for all the parks for free as many days as you want? thats so cheap! is that right? crispy: Millenniumguy: SharkTums: Wow thanx for all the info! it sounds so dirt cheap! I guess i wont need that much after all, hmmm I'm hungry! In england things are diffrent!!! if you came here with $10 you would get £5, (no big deal just the exchange rate!) but then you go to Mc donalds and its more in £s than in $!! so you spend all your money then you get your meal and its 1/2 the size of a US one! also dont even think abour putting petrol in your car here without taking out a loan 1st! If you read this far well done give yourself a pat on the back you have done well and thank you very much for reading, sorry my message is sooo long, not much more now... Thank you for all for you input, its helped loads! but i still got lots to plan so if anyone can sugest any routes or anything that might help I would be VERY Greatful indead! thanx

I've got some friends into that kina thing, its not really there field but its not what you know its who you know. I guess you have been to college to learn that stuff so talk to your teachers there and see if they know anyone. my friends make web sites and touch up pictures and things so i guess its a diffrent ball pond as with 3D work I would think its not so free lance as making web sites. also put together a portfolio of the kool things you have done and send them to everyone from game companys to film CGI guys, you might not get a job but you might get a push in the right direction, or maybe 'your good but got to this uni and we might have somthing for you' S friend of mine recently went to a confrence in London, the talker was the presedent of photoshop. My friend learnt alot but maybe more importantly he can say he has done it, the corse cost him about £250 (about $500 last time i looked) the point is if someone wants him to do some photoshop and he has been taught by the presedent of photoshop there not going to think twice about getting him, i dont know what sort of 3D things you can go to but its well worth looking out for. Its a hard to get your foot in the door of most places you probably want to go to, but be persistant and somthing will turn up, and when it does sent a fat check my way hope this helps!

Explosion at SFMM...NOT APRIL FOOLS!
Freefall replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I found this out about getting stuck upside-down it only says this: 'At Six Flags Great America, a train full of passengers was stranded upside down for three hours on a vertical loop on the Demon rollercoaster. This was a very famous incidence and the whole world was shocked when treated to images of children trapped upside down for hours.' from: http://www.coasterforce.com/information/accidents.shtml (down the bottom of the page do a search on the word loop to find it this is all it says tho) -
Explosion at SFMM...NOT APRIL FOOLS!
Freefall replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know it sounds like a huge lie but i once turned on the news ages ago and saw just that, a coaster upside-down on a loop stuck with fireman trying to get them out, i dont know wot caused it but i wouldent think a power cut would have done anything, it was a no-inverted de-javu style coaster with just 1 loop and a simple (painful) lap restraint i think, does anyone eles know anything about this? I'm sure I'm not dreaming, i need some closure here why the heck did it stop!!! -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
Freefall replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love the Ripsaw at alton towers, theres nothing quite like being held upside-down uptill you get sprayed in the face with water then span around a few times to dry off if you dont like the water you might get lucky theres 15 possible sequences thanks to www.towerstimes.co.uk -
thanx for that, i dident even think of going on a tour of loads of parks that could be sweet also some of the parks look great! wow I've alot of planing maybe, I dont know how expensive America is with its food and acomidation, if i had a fairly tight budget staying in one of those little motel things people always die in and eating baked beans from K-mart how much would it set me back a day?

I'm trying real hard to get my girlfriend to go on the Dragon Khan this summer at Universal Port Aventura in spain. Unfortunatly my girlfriend belives that she will die if she goes upside-down! shes been on a few loops but only in the dark or by mistake =D and its only reinforced her fears that she will die!

New Space Mountain sign installed
Freefall replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry but it looks cheap & tacky I've seen better M signs at Mc Donalds. mind you I live in England I guess you guys supersize your signs compared to us. The big M at Mc Donalds in the Disneyland Village (Paris) looks great tho, I tryed to find a picture of it but all i can find is one off a map, i know it looks rubish but it sure looks better than the new space mountain Sign! -
Next year my girlfriends going to America to do a camp America thing for a couple of months then when she finishes she can spend up to a month in the country before coming home. In that time I'm planing on going out there to see her, she thinks we should go to California as she’s been there and its ment to be the best but we could use the month anywhere in the US. I've never been to the US before and want to make sure I make the most of it and ride the best roller coasters, I've looked at RCDB and the California Disneyland’s look a bit pants as far as roller coasters go but Knott's Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain look great but is it the best place in the US for my roller coaster thrills? I would love to go to cedar point but is there anything else in the area I would like? I'll be on abit of a tight budget aswell, I'm thinking of about $1500 - $2000 but I really have no idea how much things are going to cost. We won’t be in theme parks all month but how much am I going to need for a week at the parks and a week sight seeing. I guess you have no idea how much I will need but any rough guides would be great and if $2000 isn’t enough I have a long time to save up. Ok so if you’re like me and you just read all this without taking any in heres the short version: If you had $2000 and a month to blow in the US what would you do? Any replies would be great! I realise most people might refer me to the other thread in this forum about the California theme parks but I'm looking for more info than that, thanx

Has anyone ever smoked on a roller coaster?
Freefall replied to Freefall's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
lol thanx for the advice, are there any no smoking signs on coaster? -
sorry if this is not to do with coasters... maybe it could come under donkeys instead? (me being the donkey) I've never been on a free fall tower (ok i know my names Freefall but i ment the freefall of a roller coaster). The very idea of a free fall tower scares the poop out of me! I intend to go on a 325 ft tower at my next visit to the Port Aventura park but can someone tell me what there like to ride, also if you know of any on ride videos that would be great, thanx

sorry if this is on another post, i had a look but i couldent find anything, I've been playing roller coaster tycoon 2 and I've made a 6 way racing roller coaster, i want to put it on the site for people to look at and download but i can only take bmps (bitmaps) of it, to post it on here i need a jpeg or somthing right? so any ideas how to do so? i dont have paintshop pro or anything like that but i guess i could get a friend to help do it if that would work. I'm also working an a roller coaster that lasts for an hour, its at about 52 mins so far, some of the scenery might be from the wacky worlds expantion, if i put it on the site should i do it with and without the scenry for the people without that expantion pack? thanx alot ps shouldent this forum be called 'Ask Alveys' pps am i likely to get band for saying 'thanx' and not 'thanks' or is alittle bit of fun shortenings ok?
