  1. Yeah, I'm curious about how the show ran, did they tell you to talk about one specific thing about yourself? Did they give you a video of your run?
  2. C'mon Elissa...tell us...do you hate red carpets?
  3. I searched the boards and couldn't find anything ...I'm watching tonight's episode of Wiepout and near the beginning, there's someone who looks just like Elissa (well, to me at least) , they only show her on the rug pull (first obstacle). Anyone else notice it?
  4. Reminds me of trying to design a thrill ride for the Holy Land Experience, the Holy Roller Coaster was the most popular.
  5. "International Travel Destination"........translation= there's mexican maids in the hotels and we get a few people from Canada sometimes. As far as the name: "Stupid is as stupid does"......time for a countdown to failure of this park.
  6. I have no clue where you guys are, but I also wanted to state that Elissa, yes you still look hot and not fat at all
  7. I was just in Tokyo and saw both parks, I stayed at the Tokyo Prince Hotel which is right beside Tokyo Tower...got it for only about $100/night. I was able to walk about 1/2 a mile to one train station then was able to get to 2 other trains and to the parks, it was very easy and only took about 20-30 mins.
  8. I'm going in a day and a half!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
  9. I can upload to the server if someone can point me to it
  10. Continued: Then....we came upon it...the biggest, meanest, fastest roller coaster in the whole country...brace yourselves... . . . . . . . . . It is...the Space Shuttle: Yes... a Vekoma Boomerang in all of its classic Vekoma goodness (I needed some aspirin when it was done) Some other attractions: Swan Lake, where later that night, Marianne and I decided to try it only to find out our swan didn't enjoy turning to the right....we were stuck a few times and eventually were nearly towed back to the loading station. Ubanga-Boata: Jungle Stuff: Food Court: Now I have to tell you about why I really like the amount of detail and theming going into this park, it's clearly evident right here in this area. First, you'll notice the font used on those two places on the right, Burgers and Karate Kid, clearly use the same font used in Jurassic Park. It's emulating something without coming out and saying it. Also, observe these two pictures: Notice that since this Food Court splits the Space themed area with the Jungle themed one, that they took great lengths to ensure the proper theming would win out and each side is dramatically matching its own land. Clever. Later, on the stage, they had a really bad lip synching of Justin Timberlake's "My Love" with several dancers and the lead "singer" who actually looked a lot like Mark Wahlberg (aka Marky Mark)...weird. They also had a special "Love Duets" or Duits if you listen to the announcer, where two of the contestants were first cousins and sang lovingly to each other. Moving on: I think this was the Victorian section of the park, nice but it's definitely missing something (B&M Hyper?): Something strangely funny about this: There was a rollerskater too (So I think that's 2 credits that Robb and Elissa don't have!!) Now I am not too sure about this flat ride. I had never seen one before and went on it....it was disturbing for some reason...I hated it, Marianne did too. Of course her son loved it, so ymmv They had Dodgems (is that word used at any U.S. parks?) I also found a strange food item: They did have a Condor but it was not working: Next was the kids section, called Boulder something, it looked like Bedrock to me: Somehow, being in a third world-ish country going to a park I had never heard of before and seeing a sign for the ride like this kinda bothered me: And a parting shot: Overall I did enjoy the day, this is actually a good park and could fit nicely in many places in the U.S. I think. They do seem to have lots of extra land next to the park, makes me wonder if they'll ever expand. There was also a fireworks show and they have their own theme music for the park. One thing that was annoying is they make park announcements and they repeat about 10 times, this happened throughout the day. The upchage for Pirates 4D also bothered me, then I realized the theater only holds about 45 people, it may be only something for crowd control. FYI it was about 80 cents U.S. equivalent so nothing major. But if you ever end up in Manila and want something fun to do, I do recommend this park.
  11. I think this may be the first TR ever done for this park on here. I am currently living in Manila for my work and this is the first park I've checked out, apparently there aren't many. I was invited by a friend of mine to go with her friends and family to Enchanted Kingdom. I was not sure what to expect, but I have to say it's actually a nice park. They have a "magic" theme and a wizard for their mascot, but this isn't a Disney clone. They do have themed lands though, and some nice rides. Due to the wonderful exchange rate, admission is equal to only about $10 U.S. One other thing this park has going for it, the tallest, fastest and most inversions of a coaster in all of the Philippines!! More on that later... First, some pictures at the entrance: Map: Sadly, we missed checking her out but nice outfit : As soon as the park opened we were treated to a dance. There were many different places with dancing throughout the day: Nice view: Sadly, they only had the rapids open for a short while and we missed it : My one big complaint in the park is with this. They had Pirates 4D which is bad enough, but it was also an UPCHARGE! Sure they had the full seats with many effects we didn't see at the one in Busch Gardens Tampa, but still....it's Pirates 4D!! Here is the Brooklyn Street section where it is decorated for Chinese New Year. This section appears to be a 1930's-1940's era but aged to look like its been untouched since then. Still, it was well done. They had a Lego Racers simulator ride, but I was feeling ill that morning and decided to skip it, my friends enjoyed it though: My friend Marianne and her son with some creepy Alien dude and dancers:
  12. I know there's a few auto magazines going under too. I think this is the start of a trend, with the economy and internet everywhere, I think more might start disappearing at least in paper format.
  13. I guess that's why we don't see any Sea World parks opening in Japan I'm glad they've recovered from that big fire they had, it is like a timeless Florida landmark.
  14. I do not have much inside info, besides going to the control booth of E:E and speaking to the ride ops during a special event. They confirmed that it WILL be repaired eventually and plans are coming together. Meanwhile, I think the issue is not the weight of the yeti itself, but the sheer force of it arm and body going back and forth hundreds to thousands of times per day. That is a LOT of weight getting thrown around. While I could blame this on another lack of effort by Disney, I really think this might not have been able to be foreseen as easily as some other issues in the past.
  15. I got my Coaster Expedition 11 DVD Today!! Thanks Robb!! It was awesome as usual ChrisFL (will be in Japan Feb 12-16th!!)
  16. So I'm looking at the plans and it all looks great, and start watching the video...sounds interesting...and then........... What the!?!?! Somene getting a bit too creative with their designs, or have I just not been to NYC in a while and that's considered normal?
  17. Ok, so it's for sale for $35,000,000 There are 28,000 people who have been registered on TPR. So if each of us puts up $1,250 we can BUY THE PARK!!
  18. As I figured they're having too much fun in Japan all day and night and can't post updates. I can't blame you guys at all!!! I'll be in Japan in late Feb, early March!!
  19. After seeing the POV of Eagle Fortress, I cannot imagine the sheer insanity of riding that thing in pitch blackness!!
  20. I've seen vintage video of WDW's MK that also had a piano player on a bike thing...typically it must have been too dangerous in the US but is fine overseas
  21. The Christmas shooting ride reminds me of a movie, I think it was Scrooged, where in the beginning there was a raid of Santa's house with guns blazing...
  22. IMO they should have built this park in Las Vegas...it would have fit much better there
  23. I'm a little bit late posting, but Crystal Wings...WOW!! It looks like something out of Lord of the Rings! Anyway, at what point do you decide NOT to ride a really unsafe looking ghetto coaster?
  24. WOW!! I love seeing small parks that have great theming and quality in their attractions. Nice TR
