  1. You mean presenting facts you don't like and can't refute
  2. I personally wouldn't try this, while waiting in the SRL on a recent trip to the park, I saw the flash pass attendant confront a group of 2 trying to use the SRL and they were re-directed to the regular line. ---- I'd say the top 3 to do first are (1) Joker - It'll be the new coaster next year, so obviously everyone will be heading there first (2) Goliath - Still gets full queues. I'd recommend the SRL (Unless you're coming to the park with others) (3) V2 - Low Capacity, line fills up quickly About the Gravestone thing, it's just for fun/memories It is perfectly fine to use the SRL if a party of 2. The attendant should be told to pound sand as long as your following the rules. You just have to take what's open and not refuse to split up. You can't request to stay together or wait till 2 spots open up. On Superman 2 spots open up frequently from my experience.
  3. First avoid a weekend unless your buying a flash pass. Weekday plan: 1)Goliath first. Wait in regular cue 1st ride to get 1st or back. Then, re ride using the single riders line which will be short. The regular line will be 30-45 minutes fairly quickly most of the time. 2)Xflight lines are sporadic, but don't wait more than 35 minute b/c it will clear out at some point during the day and be 15 minutes or so. Best ride IMO is the front left outside. Go to Xflight second after a few Goliath rides and the line will likely 25 minutes or less 3)2)Ride Raging Bull mid afternoon, it usaully clears out from like 2-4pm and can be power ridden. The line for it moves really fast even if seems long if the crew isn't incompetent b/c of it's 3 train capacity. 4)Superman can get long lines. Superman is not really worth waiting more than 20 minutes in regular line IMO. So to avoid use the single rider line, which is again usually very short 5-10 minutes. . People don't even seem to realize the single rider line. Even if you're in a party of 2 you often can ride together. 5) Don't wait for Batman if you see any line beyond 2 or 3 switch backs. The ride clears out around 5-7pm and turns into a walk on or 5 minutes. You can marathon it if you wish. Ride in the back row. People will be lined up from the front not knowing the best ride is the back. 6)Hit V2 front row, again sporadic line but always has clear out periods. After 8 most everything has pretty short waits except Goliath, which will still be the longest line in the park. It's the longest line in the park all day, that's why you hit it first. I would say try it again later if the single rider line is short and do 1 night ride. Goliath, Batman, Raging Bull, Xflight are worthy of making sure of a night ride.
  4. LOL. DK got a coaster in 2016 and MM in 2015. They weren't really at the top of the cue for a new coaster. 2 of thee parks that got 4D's hadn;t had something new for longer periods, ie.. SFOT not since 2011. 2018 the new coasters are likely IMO, not going to in CA parks either b/c OG, Am, Stl are in desperate need and haven't gotten anything since 2011, 2012, 2013 respectively. I think OG and Am will get a RMC conversion or a 4D and Stl a 4D. LaRonde could also be in for a coaster, none since 2010, if 1 of the above is left out or possibly if SF is feeling really good about the finances.
  5. If you look up this park they haven't added a coaster since 2007 and most of their 10 coasters are extremely old. They probably announced a coaster for 2018 now just to show people they have something to look forward to. The last park addition was a Sky Fly in 2015. Also, rumors of a new coaster have been around since 2015 that a coaster was coming 2017, now it's confirmed for 2018. Parks already know what they are going to do years in advance in most cases. SF and CF probably have their 2018 plans with 90% to 95% certainty and may make small alterations. 2019 plans are like 80%+ certainty and will alter slightly if their is a downturn in revenue.
  6. Take your meds. You're a SF fantard. SF has installed junk compared to CF for years. There is a reason that SF has no Giga's and CF 3 since 2010. SF is cloning the garbage 4D's b/c they are cheap and idiots like you will keep buying passes no matter how many non thrilling garbage 4D's they install.
  7. It's a horrible year in the US. Worldwide there are plenty.
  8. I mean, I want my home park to have a $30 million budget for rides too... But yea, it ain't happening. Just once I want some of the few remaining SFGAm fans around here to have realistic expectations and insightful speculation. Enough with the Coaster Nerd wet dreams. Some of things the park needs: 1)Flat ride package is a desperate need: some possible great additions to choose from -Zamperla Giant Discovery -Zamperla Hawk -Zamperla Endeavour -Huss Enterprise 2GH/2GH Plus -Huss Fly Away -Gmbh Sky Roller -Gmbh Sky Fly -Mondial Inferno -Mondial Top Scan -Sky Screamer (prefer windseekers but SF uses skyscreamers unlike CF) -S&S screaming swing 2)Launch Coaster-many good options that are in SF current price range of 10M and under for coasters -Sky Rocket III (Throttle @ SFMM) -Sky Rocket II(Superman @ SFDK) -S&S El Loco (Galeforce @ Ocean City) -Infinity Coaster (Karacho @ Erlebnispark Tripsdrill) -Zierer Tower launch (Impulse @ Knoebels) 3)Non-Launch Coasters -Chance Hyper GT-X (Lightning Run @ Kentucky Kingdom) -Euro Fighter 3 models to choose from or custom -Zamperla - (Thunderbolt @ Luna Park)
  9. Cedar Point is spending a ridiculous amount of money on additions already. They're currently making huge expansions to 2 hotels and expanding and renovating the water park all while a major RMC coaster project seems to be going on and they're building a sports complex off point and relocating a 200 foot Sky Coaster. Plus they just built the world's tallest dive coaster this year. The Breakers expansion is for 2018... The sports complex isn't a huge expense for them, relocating a sky coaster is peanuts. I'm still going with 2017. No RMCs announced, nothing has been announced in park. They are already working on Mean Streak and closed it early and teased it. 2017 seems logical The announcement will be soon, they didn't announce Rougoru for 2 to 3 weeks after constant teasing.
  10. CF doesn't do ridiculous pushes for season pass sales. If they were so concerned about driving pass sales in the fall, they would give the farm away like Six Flags does during the flash sale and even their sale now.
  11. LOL...There is nothing in that statement that leads to anything.
  12. I don't think there's any reason to expect any major in-park additions for 2017. They're spending a pretty incredible amount of money already. The hotels are bringing in huge revenue, that's why they are expanding them. The last completed hotel changes lowered capacity, as they removed 1 wing of Breakers and made the remaining 1 much better. The plan was to add another wing back if the hotel attendance was good. It has been excellent, thus just 2 years later they are adding a new wing. Hotel revenue for CF was a record over 200+ million in their last annual report. The sports complex is 23million but will again be a cash cow. They will host tournaments and the attendance will often stay in CF hotels b/c they will surely offer them deals on lodging and park entry. It will be a great ROI. Also, CF has no problem spending money, they made capital investments of 170M in 2015 and 150M in 2016. They have been making huge investments and their total debt has been stable since 2011. Spending 10-15M on a RMC for 2017 is not holding them back. The reason RMC has no projects for 2017 could be that MS is a massive job and they need to put as many crews on it as if they were doing their normal 2 coasters or so per year.
  13. RMC in past years has had many projects. 2016 they had 4 coasters, 2013 thru 2015, 2 coasters each year. RMC has not announced any projects in 2017 possibly b/c Mean Streak is a massive job and CP wants it done for 2017. The renovation of Mean Streak is equivalent to doing 2 coasters in size and cost. Thus, RMC will deploy more crews to it rather than doing more projects.
  14. Cedar Point handling of this is poor IMO. They had to know people would be watching the park for any signals of what's happening. They weren't going to be able to keep people from "snooping". Now, the official announcement will be less buzz worthy b/c it was leaked. The only buzz now is if they show rendering of the proposed new layout.
  15. Until Cedar Point officially announces it there will be some people looking for evidence of any pic being photoshopped
  16. Agree. One correction SF debt has increased ..2011 Financials it was 951M...by 2013 it was 1.38B and 2015 report it's 1.5B. Cedar Fair's debt has been steady with small fluctuations. It was 1.556B in 2011, 1.52B in 2013 and 1.556B in 2015 report.
  17. I rode Batman at Fiesta Texas and it was far from garbage. I realize it isn't everyone's cup of tea but Batman performed well enough to warrant Six Flags ordering 4 more. They wouldn't invest in more if people were "losing interest" in the ride. Especially considering Batman has run two seasons, more than enough data has been compiled to show proof of its success. Ignore him. The same guy appeared around Aug. 1st on a local SFGAm message board and just stirred the pot leading up to the announcement of our 4D. It's just a Troll account... Nobody asked you to respond, then don't. Just b/c your one of the people who thinks a 4D is anything more than a cheap, non-thrilling family coaster marketed as a thrill ride falsely by SF. You're the kind of sucker they are depending on to flock to the 4D garbage coasters. They are a one in done non thrill. You do it once and you don't ever have to do it again b/c it's not a thrill. It's a jazzed up carnival ride. For some reason, people still think a thrill ride has to do extreme forces to your body. Even Larson Loops are still considered thrill rides. Even family rides can be considered thrilling because they are fun to ride. If you're having fun, that's enough to be a thrill ride. If you're not having fun on a coaster that doesn't hurt you to ride, then this isn't the hobby for you. What a complete false argument that some how thrill ride means, "hurt to ride". Not even in anything written.
  18. Yeah those free spin 4D coasters seem pretty attractive. They're comfortable, thrilling, relatively cheap compared to most new steel coasters, have a small footprint and fit in parks with height restrictions, decent capacity, and they bring people into the park. I'd buy one. The chance hyper GTX I thought fit the same bill, but yet no one is buying them I think it would be a lot harder to market a GTX, a 4D on looks alone piques people's interest. A GTX from the ground just looks like a small rollercoaster to the GP, they have no idea it's a bat poo-poo crazy ride with airtime galore. Plus I think a 4D takes up less real estate and can be squeezed in almost anywhere with a narrow/long strip of land. I also fear the same type of of shunning might await the RMC raptor track... 4D S&S free spins are absolute garbage. It's a family coaster, by S&S own marketing yet they have been hyped as a thrill ride by SF. Having ridden the 4D at SFGAdv it was less than impressive to be kind. This was the general consensus among crowds when talking to people in lines for other rides. People have initial interest and then most are disappointed by the actual experience. SF wants to go for more low cost coasters so more parks get coasters more often, but 4D's are a bad choice. There are a lot better coasters in the less expensive range. 4D's are not going to hold people's interest b/c it's not a thrilling experience, there is no desire to go back and ride again. SF got them b/c they are cheap and take up a very tiny footprint of 259ft x 28ft. They are not a ride worthy to be a wide spread clone. Better plan IMO, would have been to give the parks with out launch coasters clones of the Sky Rocket II or III. There are a bunch of a good sub 10M coasters they could have spread around like the GT-X, Zierer made a good one for Knoebels for 8M, Infinity Coasters and Euro Fighter are 8-9M. Then eventually give MM and GAdv a dive or giga. They could give GAdv a wing b/c they need one over a dive or giga. GAdv has so much space it's just a money thing, while many other SF parks have space concerns. I rode Batman at Fiesta Texas and it was far from garbage. 21. Six Flags is clearly beyond the debacle of the Hypersonic era, they have bought 6 Free Fly Coasters from S&S in the last few years. They have hitched their wagon to S&S and the reliability of the 4D free fly's. It's one of the 2 hyped rides that they are cloning. The other being the Justice league, which is made by Sally Corp.
  22. I have season pass for Six Flags and Cedar fair with dining pass. Definite: Cedar Park - June as soon as they go to 10pm close Week of June 12th if they follow last years scheme Kings Island - July or August Canada's Wonderland - July or August opposite KI visit SFMM - late March or late May SFGAm - anytime ...home park but not often Likely: Knott's Berry - will be in the area when at SFMM SFGAdv - hit last year but relatives live in area that I will visit, late August was not busy this year Dorney - close to SFGAdv SFOG - SFA - Kings Dominion - not too far from SFA
  23. Dekalb, Cobb, and Fulton county schools are out April 3 - 7th, as well as Atlanta City Schools. Those districts cover the area right around the park.
  24. They were using 1 station for years before Zumanjaro was ever a thing. Even back then if you compared Dragster's launch interval to Kingda Ka's it was laughable. I don't think you understand how low Maverick's capacity is. Each train holds an ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM of 12 people. In no way, shape or form would that ever be one of Magic Mountain's higher capacity coasters. Especially because we all know they wouldn't use both load stations after the first few months the ride was open. Oh, I'm aware. But I actually calculated the average capacity when I was there in July and it's almost 1000 people per hour which is really good for SFMM standards. I was amazed at how fast they could get Maverick's line moving. 2 Maverick trains were sent in the amount of time it takes TC to send one, so they have about the same capacity. Maverick's spec sheet capacity is 1200/hr
  25. Maverick has really long wait times because it's capacity sucks despite running 6 trains and having highly motivated Cedar Point ride ops with a dual loading station. Magic Mountain would never properly staff a dual load station after the first few months so it would probably go down to 1 dispatch station with 1 seat checker per side and a maximum of 12 riders per train with about half of the ride units running and the rest cannibalized for parts. Throw in Platinum Flash Pass re-rides and operators who don't care and try to visualize that awful line. And if you don't believe me, take a look at Kingda Ka. It has 4 load stations and hasn't used more than 1 in years. It has 5 trains and they only run between 1 and 3 regardless of crowds (generally 2 or 3) and Great Adventure's staff is generally better than Magic Mountain's. I've seen worse (La Ronde), but Magic Mountain's staff isn't known for their efficiency. Kinda Ka running more than 1 station for a reason. The trains would be backed up and just people sitting in trains, Also, they would be needing more staff without actually speeding things up. The operational launch intervals would not be quicker b/c with the addition of Zuminjaro they have to coordinate launches with it. I was there over the summer and they were running 3 trains and they were loading efficiently and most of the time waiting for Zuminjaro pre-launch. They often had 2 trains loaded, 1 in launch, 1 in the station loaded and 1 finished and waiting to enter the station. There is no need for multiple load stations, though they built 4 with the Zuminjaro drop coordination as a factor. The reliability of the ride is another thing.
