The notion you think CP only has 4 or 5 outstanding rides is pure bias and lunacy. CP has 6 steel coasters ranked in the top 50 by Golden Ticket and 1 Wooden...that's 7 total. That doesn't exclude Valravn, the tallest, fastest dive in the world. CP has 9 to 10 outstanding coasters. MM has 2 Golden ticket ranked coaster...X2, and Twisted Colossus. MM is a good park but is not challenging CP on coasters.

Most Overrated coaster?

All of the 4D S&S spins SF are calling the Joker -
I visited GAdv last week of August for several days during the weekdays and it was great. Nobody seemed to show up till noon. 1st 1 1/2 I got 12- 15 rides every day. Even during afternoon lines were like max 30. most 20 minutes You just have to know when to go to certain rides...ie...Ride El Toro the first 90 minutes of opening, super short line9wak on to 5min for back row. After 8pm was also good and after 9pn it was 5 minutes to a walk on. Nitro was walk on to 10 minutes before noon. The last day I got on Kingda ka 9 times and never waited more than 25 minutes, After 9 pm I got on it 4 times and was last ride of the day, 1 time. I sat 1st row most times and 2nd row every other time. Bizarro is a great choice to ride mid day when lines for other things are peak, it's always max 10 to 15 minutes, usually walk to station and wait 1 or 2 trains.

1st SF Dive coaster will likely go to either MM or GAdv. Since GAdv got a coaster in 2016 and MM not since 2015 RMC of TC than MM could be in line in theory. My caveat is that SF has shown a lack of desire to spend the 20 million on big coasters recently. The last new coasters have been S&S 4D's that cost 7M, kly Rocket II and IIII which are also about the same cost as the 4D's. The RMC converts have all been under 10M. The last over 10M expenditure on coasters have been 2012 X-flight and 2014 Goliath and the most costly of the 2 was 14M. A Dive which will cost around 20M is a big ask considering the SF plan which seems cost conscious coasters. But, if the big expenditure comes for a dive, it will be most likely at MM or GAdv

RMC of a 2nd coaster at the same park I don't feel is likely. JRS likely get GCI retrack or replaced. -
Planning to hit a bunch of parks next year and to make it to them all I will need to do some before the summer. Looking at SFOG past schedules, they open for about a 10 day stretch in April with full hours--1030am-8pm. That's not summer hours, but pretty good. During that April window how are the crowds on the weekdays? is it light like early June weekday crowds at most other SF's I've been to or is crowded b/c all the kids go during their school break? Insight would be appreciated. My plan potentially is to do SFOT in March maybe, SFOG in April possibly, SFMM 1st week of June and Knots Berry, Cedar Point in June when they go to full hours, Kings Island and Canada's Wonderland in July and August. Other secondary targets will be SFGadav(hit in 2016 but in the area often, Dorney Park b/c not far from Gadv and I never have been. SFAm and KD if I have time b/c I will be in DC/ area.

Anybody know what Gale Force cost to build? -
Thanks for the insight. Sounds like MM is like GAm. I visited GAdv late August and I was surprised by the short wait times. Of course I never go to any SF on weekend and it seems weekdays everywhere are pretty great. Of course there is a slight spike on the bring a friend free days, but that's not even that bad.

Looking to plan a trip to MM, my home park is GAm. What are the general wait times like on weekdays during early/mid june? Is it worth it to go 1st week of June when they are open till 8pm instead of 9pm later in the year, b/c while open till 8pm the crowds are smaller? My home park has l small crowds all of June, but IL schools school year ends later than CA. Any insight on MM would be appreciated. Is there some CA ordinance that makes the park only stay open till 9pm even in the main season? DK is only open till 8pm in main season

Actually, the Gold Pass line is not an early entry line at our park. Maybe they did it once when you we there, but not anymore. It has opened at the same time as every other line every time I have used it, and I even asked management once if it got us in early and they said no. Once you are through security, which is really what the Gold Pass line gets you through, all the lines are together in the same area now. They do have early entry for GP holders in some parks, like SFStl when we visited last year. It would sure be a nice perk. I was at SFGAdv and they let all season pass holders in early, not just Gold. It was pretty cool as it allowed me to go straight to Nitro. I got the first train of the day , first row. After the 1st ride, there was people waiting for front, so I just asked the attendant if I could switch to back row as there was no line. I road back row 4 rides in a row before somebody was in line for back. Btw, what was the reasoning SFGAm gave for not letting pas holders in early? It's not like we want the rides to start early like Cedar Fair does for pass holders. It would just be a little season pass holder benefit to be in front of line on your favorite ride to start the day.

Note: Flash Pass users on Skull Mountain are assigned to specific row in the middle of the train which is like not riding Skull Mountain at all since the only really great part is the drop but only if you are in the very last car. SM is going to become a complete clusterf*ck with this VR stuff but I'm OK with that, I can wait til next year to ride it. And agreed skip Green Lantern, it really does suck. If you insist, save it for very last and make sure you get everything else in before you spend any time waiting for GL. Amazingly it does get decent lines, and definitely will if its busy but it is not at all worth the wait. Our Batman is running really well, I'd definitely go for that over GL. And don't skip Bizarro, its totally solid. Ride it at night if you can. Nitro is also great at night. I find it hilarious all the GL hate. I heard all the horrible things and when I visited I liked GL, Bizarro is a good ride that just gets ignored by people, the line was like 10 min max, most of the time 5 minutes or walk on. Would be nice if they just did some cosmetics on izarro, new paint and spruce up things. I loved it on my trip. I totally disagree with you Batman running well, unless they did something recently. It's not a smooth ride on the tracks, it rattled and shook as the wheels were not riding smooth on the tracks. That was in 3rd week of August. My home park is Great America and it's no comparison how smooth the ride on the track compared to GAdv. The smoother ride feels faster, better whip when you sit in the last row, which I always do.

Six Flags [FUN] Corporate Discussion Thread

SF corporate when the 1st added 4D's in hyping them mentioned how there the kind of ride every park should have. I don't think every park will get one, but they could be like Skyscreamers, 10 park have them. Expect to see more of them b/c they are great hype in local press for the parks with the notion of 4D. Also, non SF parks don't have them, fit into DC theme easily and they are cheap coaster at 7M. I also think there will be more Justice Leagues thought 7 parks have then come 2017. I think more Zamperla's Discoveries are coming, they are a great flat ride. It would be nice if they made some the Revolution model. My own personal clone list would be for more than 1 park to have a Zamperla Endeavour, like 5 and the ones that don't get that give them a Huss Enterprise 2GH or 2GH Plus. Give maybe 5 parks a Zamperla Hawk and Gmbh Sky Roller or Sky Fly to 4 parks each -

They also built the Giant in a very small warehouse, like 1500 sq ft or something. Now they have a huge state of the art facility. There's no reasom they couldnt finish Mean Streak on time barring any crazy weather. The only thing that's still is an asterisk is CP's announced water park expansion and the fact that Valravn was a major investment just this year. Would Ouimet and Co. invest so heavily in close proximity? 2016 they added Valravn. Also spending 23M on the sports Complex which is suppose to be complete by the end of November. 2015 they converted Mantis Coaster from strand up to floorless 2014 added Zamperala Disko, Slingshot, Fling eagle family ride 2013 added Gatekeeper and announced a 60 million over 2 year investment in the resorts They have added a coaster and then converted and themed a coaster the next before. They seem to have plenty of money to spend and are not shy about it. -
To be frank unless you're absolutely set on going Nov 5th I would recommend waiting to next season. You're going to be waiting in ridiculous lines during FF. Going early season weekday or weekend next year is the ticket. Weekdays thru the entire season are good, especially before school gets out last week if June. Also, season pass is a great value if you plan to go more than one time in a yr.
