  1. The Mean Streak structure is very wide, between 4 and 6 bents thick in places. There is plenty of space to do whatever they would like to do. There's enough space for, like, four coasters in the existing structure. Only time will tell what they have planned out, but there is plenty of structure and space to do whatever they want in there. With the second hill, we have already seen a very good example of track traversing over bents and ledgers in any direction they want it to. Just my 2 cents.
  2. Heya Snoopy... how about both coasters have a lift AND launch! I hope they go all-out this time!
  3. I always thought the hidden gem was the Schwarzkopf... now that it's running shoulder bar free again. I guess the VR has not helped. Hidden gem as in something very rare, unique and special. Revolution, Whizzer, Monte, Shockwave, Mind Bender, etc. The Batmen are excellent intensity, power packed mini machines that always deliver a great ride.
  4. Lou Malnati's is brilliant pizza, though. You better believe it! But Laurie's Pizza on Foster/Broadway (RIP) was much MUCH better. Srsly, the best places are the corner dives that tourists and trendies don't talk about. That would be nice! I would like a stall that exits twisting the opposite direction it enters from. Like Goliath at Great America, but flip out to the left not the right. Would that still be a stall? The names for some of these elements are kinda stupid. From what I saw last, it looks like there is going to be some sort of twist like Iron Rattler.
  5. Let me just say that it's no coincidence that the people in this thread from places like Cininnati and Jacksonville think Cedar Fair makes good pizza while people from Chicago and New York (hi) are less than impressed. We sure do have a lot of good pizza here in Chicago. And not just freaking Lou Malnati's and Gino's. That's yuppie tourist fodder. Most of the best pizza is those corner/neighborhood places, mom and pop places… The best thing about the pizza at Knoebels is that it's at Knoebels. It's usually good, cause I'm usually starving by the time I get to it. I do remember the pizza at Kings Island being good years ago. Is it still good? Since this is the Cedar point thread, I know the employee cafeteria and rec center (RIP) used to have great pizza and other greasy food. Homemade shakes… but I haven't worked there since 93 so I don't know what it's like now.
  6. ^^Thanks for the suggestions! I'll make sure to remember that. I haven't been out there in too long, very excited to come back.
  7. I'm glad you said something! Just out of curiosity, did you go to Guest Relations and fill out a form? It becomes a little more ... "logged in" if you do that. Might take a good 10 minutes, but if more of us do it, maybe we'll have a better time at the park. I'll be visiting the park in July. Not the best time for crowds, but it's when my family is going on our California trip. I'll probably be going to the Mountain alone, or with one of my little cousins. I would pay and extra $200 to get 20 rides on (non-VR) Revolution. Thing is, there is not currently a way to do that. Even with the highest platinum Flash Pass, I think I'm eligible for one ride. Luckily, I'll probably be going on a solo trip the the park/area in the fall... so crowds will be low, and hopefully Revolution rules will have changed by then.
  8. I wish more people would go to Guest Relations and fill out forms about this. If enough people "complain" about something (in a polite and constructive way, preferably) sometimes things change. It could get a set up like SFGAmerica or CPoint has with their VR coasters. Leave it plain Revolution for half the day and then VR after. I bet it would still have long lines, but no where near what they are now. Plenty of people want to ride regular Revolution. It's a beautiful ride! Go tell Guest Relations (in a polite and constructive way, please)! Spread the word
  9. teehee. Pull em up bro! The Ride This One podcast crew must've been there.
  10. Great pictures! Thanks for the TR. I see a few people I know in those pics. I haven't been to the park since it re-opened, hoping to swing by this year! One question, what is this large concrete area? It looks like something used to be here, but can't think of it. Also, in the slots on the right, looks like old coaster caliper brakes.
  11. Please please please tell me VR will be moving to the drop tower later in the season, like other Six Flags parks? I'm going in July and would love to experience Revolution, minus the hour-plus lines and empty seats. Of course, they could also try the super-logical approach of Six Flags Great America and Cedar Point; run the ride without VR at the start of the day, and take reservations for VR to run only after a certain time of day. Never say never!
  12. Ooops... No way to spend 2 days at Knoebels?
  13. I've been rallying for a launch halfway thru. No slow down like Maverick, just keep going and then speed up. And take the record for longest coaster, of course. Just my wishes… Oh yeah, a double loading station with six trains. Never say never.
  14. ^They're definitely tighter than anything CP currently has. You are really wedged in there if you are a full-size adult or perhaps a little "bigger boned," or otherwise. That crotch thing can also do a number on a guys' goods here and there. Slap right on that hard plastic. Last summer, my 10 year old cousin and I were riding the back seat of Goliath at Great America... I was so jealous! He had a nice gap even with the lap bar down as far as it would go. I'm sure plenty of RMC fanboys are fine with the seats, but for many, they are a little tight. And I'm not just referring to overweight folks. Seems like they were designed for the approximate shape and size of Alan Shilke.
  15. Oh, I love you Jon. Most of the time.
  16. Has anyone else heard the rumor that RMC may be coming up with a new train design for their Iron Horse coasters? I heard (probably not the most reliable source) that is one of the reasons they're waiting until 2018 for New Mean Schnitzel. Something more comfortable perhaps? Maybe they will have larger seats, and raise the height requirement to the B&M level of 54"?
  17. I fixed that for you, sir. Absolutely! But doesn't CP call Pipe Scream a roller coaster? Speaking of Pipe Scream, do they run it on a different program during Halloweekends? It was spinning fast as heck..
  18. ^Cedar Point would designate it a coaster.
  19. The real question is, you're really going to Coastermania and not HWN? I know I know... they balance each other out nicely.
  20. Probably wouldn't be the first time. Ugh!!
  21. ^I think I'm getting the hang of it.
  22. I'm thinking of the flat sections on Apollo's, Magnum, Millennium, Raven, Demon... but if some wanna run with the sarcasm that's ok too. I can handle it. The flat sections on the Beast would be nice too if there weren't so many of them... and the ride was fast like it used to be Variety is nice, as is a change in pace. But just my 2 cents.
  23. ^Very nice! From what I can see, it has the older seats like the ones at Waldameer and Knoebels.
