  1. Sounds like a really great visit. One question though: no Banshee?
  2. I'll be visiting KI on Friday June 9th. Should I expect a crazy busy day? I'm probably going to spending the whole day there, and I hope to ride all the coasters once, and then re-ride my top three or four favourites a bunch. Am I likely to need Fast Lane (Plus)?
  3. So I actually rode Leviathan for the first time yesterday, it's my first giga. I really, really hate to say it, but aside from the first drop, I was a bit underwhelmed. So was my girlfriend, who was the holdout all last season (I promised to wait until she was ready to ride it, so we could together for the first time). Even she was underwhelmed. Maybe we built it up way too much in our heads. Now don't get me wrong, it was alot of fun, but it didn't blow my mind the way I expected it would. The first time I rode Behemoth, I couldn't wrap my mind around all the airtime. I had no idea airtime like that even existed. I was hoping for some kind of similar new feeling with Leviathan I guess. We rode it again right after the first ride (lines were less than 10 minutes), and the second d ride was much better, but I was still left wanting more. Yesterday was a day of a couple other firsts too. I had my very first front seat ride on Behemoth, and it was sooooooooooooo good. It was also the first time that my girlfriend was eager to ride it again (she's not so good with heights, and the airtime freaks her out a bit). Seriously, Behemoth is the King... queen? Whatever. Behemoth is the reigning monarch of CW, yesterday cemented that. Anyways, just thought I'd see how everyone else feels. Am I crazy for thinking Behemoth is clearly the superior coaster?
  4. I forgot to mention, while being loaded into the ride, the attendant didn't reach over to check the belt and restraints. Instead they instructed us to do it ourselves, and watched to make sure we did it right.
  5. Rode Soaring Timbers this morning. Fun ride, but yes it is cramped. Tbh, at 6'4",I'm accustomed to being cramped on rides, so not a huge deal. Also, they did wait for 10 people before loading. That being said, it is similar to Shockwave, but not as wild. Shockwave is definitely the superior ride. That being said, it's still a good ride, and fits a different niche. I can see about of people riding this who won't touch Shockwave.
  6. Behemoth at CW on Friday night. Love that coaster!
  7. It's official, Soaring Timbers will NOT be open tonight for passholders.
  8. Any advice on a Friday visit in early June (the 9th)? Will the park be really busy? Will Fast Lane be a necessity? It will be my first visit to KI, and likely only visit for at least 3 years or so. I should be able to make it right around opening. Is there a routine/order I should follow for the rides? What's the best food?
  9. Looks like things are coming along on both new rides. Pumped for Soaring Timbers!
  10. Man, too bad they've chosen such a lame ride cycle. Such potential for a crazy experience with top scans. Shockwave at Canada's Wonderland, for example, is one of my favourite flats; its transition between forwards and backwards always feels crazy. Hopefully they're just testing for now.
  11. With any luck I'll be going to KI on Friday June 9th. It will be the only day, but should be a full day. Is it typically busy Fridays in June? Will Fast Lane be necessary if I want to ride all coasters once and some twice?
  12. So they had the bring a friend passes last year, and it was fine. We didn't wait more than ten minutes for a ride all night. We did fourteen rides in the three hours we were there. That being said, we didn't bother waiting for Behemoth or Leviathan, or the new flat. This year we'll do it pretty much the same, but probably make a point of riding Soaring Timbers unless it's line is really long, assuming it's running. Probably do Behemoth and Leviathan once each. Our general motto for Passholder's night is 'Ride as much as possible!'
  13. I've been to CW six times so far this season, and Sledgehammer has been running every time. It has been down temporarily on two occasions, but it has seemed pretty reliable otherwise. I've also found the Wild Beast pretty good. It is a bit rough at points, but the re-tracking they've done in the last couple of years has had a positive impact.
