Should have gotten an B&M! Or at least something interesting... But congrats on that attendance record (again), the GP seems to love their stuff! I didn't go there this season, it was already too full last year. Also they removed the waiting times website. -

I hoping for the Vekoma hyper, I really want to seem them doing it! I'm really wondering what's wrong with this park...this year an looping launched coaster, next year 3 roller coasters including a near 200 foot one and after that a real hyper coaster! Not to mention flat rides and other stuff.. Where do they have all that money from?! -

I guess you missed the post that started the whole speculation, which links to a Facebook post of the park saying something new is coming in 2017, and inside the old "Hello Spencer" hall (which you crossed out on your sketch) work has started? Ups wasn't even aware of it's existence, I've been a few times there and thought there was just a lego shop inside that building. Well, I hope that show thing isn't the "high year investment", bc that'd be quite a letdown. Then...I guess it goes around the building? Or just on the right side, replacing the woods and the old log flume? But more likely 2018 opening then I guess.. Anyway something over the lake is a higher possibility now! *dreams* -

Last month they didn't have a flying coaster yet. B&M seems to be stepping up their game when it comes to construction speed! xD Or it's invisible. Yeah... The closest thing they have to a flying anything is a carousel in their "how to train your dragon" area. You ride that lying down, so it's kinda like flying I guess, was pretty fun! But it's no coaster. You're probably thinking about their wing rider, which is an OK ride to me. It's a bit sluggish, but has a cool drop and looks awesome. BTW, A (B&M) flying coaster would be a Mainland Europe's first! -

So as it is kinda confirmed that something big is coming within the next 2 years (won't rule a 2018 opening out as 2017 could be mostly construction, so it's still a big investment that year) the question now is, what is coming? For location I'm guessing the land between to the Mountain Rafting, Wüstenflitzer and the old log flume. Why? The couple of old flat rides that were there have been removed and the Lego store has, as far as I know, been moved to the entrance of the park. At least it isn't on the park map anymore... And what is going there? I'm guessing some kind of water ride (Intamin AquaTrax FTW!). No srsly, The log flume they have rn isn't themed, pretty old and generally unexiting, especially compared to its competitors at EP and Phantasialand. BTW, If it's a water ride I can see them removing the old log flume entirely for additional space! So and now we get to the probably pretty unrealistic dream I'm having since some time now for this park. A launched B&M flying coaster over the lake! Well you're allowed to have dreams... :/ Possible area of the addition marked in blue, places where flats were last year marked in red! -

I heard that the major investment was pushed back to 2018. Probably because of all that smiler stuff... And colossus might play in there too, but I don't know how expensive it's repairs are going to be. -
What's new for 2017?
CaptainChaotika replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Also the Intamin 10 inversion going to Wonder Island in St.Petersburg is missing in the list! (Source: the park's website.) They advertise it with a top speed of 120km/h and a high of ~150 feet. (14 story building, so just an estimate) Either theyre making false claims or It's a custom design, who knows! At least the picture on their website is showing Altair CCW-0204's heartline rolls... Edit: I don't think the park is covered by TPR's index yet as it is a pretty out of the way, but it seems to be a fairly interesting one to me. They have one of the last coasters that was influenced by Anton Schwarzkopf and built by BHS. Which looks pretty cool on the photos on RCDB, but doesn't have a single proper POV uploaded on YT. Just guys screaming something in russian while either filming themselfes or their legs. :/ Oh and there is a Blue Fire Clone, a Screaming Squirrel+El Loco mixture and some super crazy looking spinning rocked carousel there. -

Hm, do you guys think a ABC Rides TOURBILLON would fit in the lot of SpinRock? It'd be certainly a very unique ride. I'm definitely rooting for the B&M Flyer in 2018. An RMC just wouldn't really fit I think, If they'd build one they would want it to be bigger and better than wildfire and I just cant see that happen given the limited space available, but I wouldn't mind to be surprised of course. -

Still hoping for the B&M Flyer themed to toothless over the lake around an artificial island! Hey I'm allowed to dream, and it's already late. -

When have you been at Oktoberfest? When I was there it was always really crowded. Also did you film the SkyScream POV on TPRs YouTube channel? (I know, kinda off topic) -
Worst Coaster Ever?

Really is it that bad? I honestly was looking forward to riding it sometimes in the future. :/ My worst coaster yet was El Tumor..äh...Condor in Walibi Holland. -
Do You Bother With Water Parks?
CaptainChaotika replied to Golddisk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't really care for waterparks at all. Idk how a water+dry park is as there is no such thing in Germany yet. But europapark is building one, the only thing I hope for is that the lines in the dry park will be shorter. :F -

There was a second one in the Amsterdam Dungeon, it closed in 2014 and was only 80m short. And well yes, they still sell those things. For the ghost train/coaster I'd expect more banking than from the one in Helsinki. -

They have Geisterschloss, which is frankly the best ghost train/omnimover in existence! Oups, well then I didn't notice it. :F As I can't expect a new credit anymore I hope it'll be something interesting at least. -

I'm speculating on a Ghost Train kinda dark ride, maybe even little Wilde mouse like coaster section added to it (Mack E-Motion coaster probably). Why? EuropaPark's animation movie is going to take place on a some kind of crazy ghost train, and as far as I remember they don't even have one yet in the park. -

Smaller park? From the European point of view it's a major park (and the biggest in its country). When I think about a big park it has more than 3 "large" rollercoasters. I personally can't even imagine a place like MM or CP with so many coasters. Back to topic, looks cool especially the theming on the concept art, haven't seen one of these being built for a while now. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
CaptainChaotika replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
El Condor (the oldest SLC Prototype) was the last new credit I rode...will do that never again. But the last coaster I rode was Lost Gravity as far as I remember. -
Locals complaining about screaming roller coaster riders is a common problem to German Theme parks too. For example the first drop of Germany's highest rollercoaster, SilverStar, is equipped wit noise reduction barriers. Hanna park's rollercoasters are partially inside buildings (which might be because of theming too, but putting a hypercoaster inside a building is mostly a missed opportunity for great views to me.) Best is phantasialand, which designed the rock work for their new coaster taron in a way to trap the noise, at least I remember reading that somewhere.

I think the trains look cool, and the seats are super comfy. Nice TR btw, was (mostly) there On the 24th, only was able to ride Lost Gravity once on the 25th. As I had to leave till 11AM. Don't complain about the weather, the day before was pretty horrible and Goliath was really underwhelming, barely had any good airtime ...might be due to all that water and coldness or so. But RobinHood was surprisingly good that day. -

Got to Ride Lost Gravity today! Unfortunately only one time, so my opinion might change tomorrow. It's a great coaster, not too forceful but it has some good airtime and a very unique and disorienting first drop. The first half is pretty fast, the second rather slow, but it got some great hang time there. I especially liked the roll above the water fountain (which was high enough to reach my hands). The smoothness isn't quite B&M like, but it's getting there. I think gerstlaueringvar is right with the theming, but we hit the asteroid, not the asteroid us! Yay for first post (after reading this forum for some months)!
