  1. I'm wondering if Valleyfair is going to follow Carowinds by adding some new thrill rides for 2018? I'm thinking we will see some new flat rides for 2018 possibly a water park expansion and either re locate the Looping Star Ship or remove it and take out the volley ball courts and possibly move the Soak City enterance over by Mad Mouse to make room for the next water park expansion in 2018. In 2019 I'm going to guess they might remodel the main enterance and add new toll lanes then in 2020 that's the year I think we'll see a new front B&M coaster either a wing or inverted like every one wants to see. Then following years park will get permitts approved to remove Excalibur for the next phase of the water park expansion for the back of the park. I really think your going to see some new thrill rides next year and a water park expansion before we get a new coaster my prediction I don't think we'll see one till 2020 Dino contract is up along with remodel of the front plaza and I think construction will phase out in different years?
  2. A while back there was a discussion about Cedar Fair coming out to Valleyfair sometime in July to do a study of the Twin Cities area and the expansion for Valleyfair. Does anyone remember hearing something like this? Did Cedar Fair ever come out or are they going to?
  3. I really don't want the Enterprise to leave because it's one of my favorite flat rides at Valleyfair, but it does need some work done on it. New paint. New Gondolas. New Que Line? I'm in favor of the Enterprise leaving for a year to get some work done then moving it some were else in the park. 2018 be the come back for the new Enterprise. I think a great spot for the Enterprise would be over were the old Tilt a Whirl use to sit by Wild Thing perfect spot for it.
  4. I'm coming from Minneapolis about a 13 hour drive to Sandusky, Ohio. I have a Cedar Point trip planned out for a week at the end of July 24th through July 31st. I was wondering what the crowd's are like during the end of July for during the week? Do they tend to get light crowd's during the week? One Friday during my trip there open 10:00 am to midnight so that will be an all day visit for me. Since I will be there a whole week I'm not planning to do a fast lane pass either since I'll have time to ride everything. On Saturday July 30th I'm planning to visit Conneaut Lake Park in the morning then Waldameer Park and Water World in the evening. I'm not planning to visit Cedar Point on a Saturday because I know the crowd's will be more busier. Then I'm going to Kings Island for three day's first park of August.
  5. I'm starting my east coast trip at the end of July 24 August 7th two weeks. I'm going to take I-35 W straight south then head on the Ohio turnpike head straight east non stop. I have done a Cedar Point trip each summer it's right about 12 hour drive. My plan is to work Saturday 23 rd get off work at 2:30 am in the morning sleep till 3:00 pm then go to Valleyfair see a few people then head out at 5:00 pm. I should get there around 4:00 am? I do have a hotel paid for an a room set up. I'm staying at Quality INN South Cedar Point nice thing it's only ten minutes from Cedar Point. Is Mean Streak closed rest of the season? Does anyone have any old construction photos of Wild Thing in 1996 when it was being built?
  6. RCJunkie I'm going to Cedar Point and Kings Island at the end of July. Would you suggest to get to the park early around 8:00 am to avoid lines with wanding and bag checks?
  7. I was at the park last Saturday. I got there around 10:00 am. The lines for wanding and checking bags seems like they were a mile long in the main lot. It didn't matter which line you choose to get in they were all long. I waited about ten minutes in line. I do feel more safe with metal dectors and I don't seem to mind if they have them permantly installed with a new re modeled front plaza. If you don't want to wait in line I would suggest getting there around 9:00 am be the first in line not get there right when the park opens to avoid lines. With the Orlando shootings I think we'll see the wanding and bag checks rest of the year.
  8. What's wrong with the gondola on Valleyfairs Rip Tide?
  9. How about putting the old sign somewhere in the antique autos area?
  10. I spoke with maitnence on the way out ask why Rip Tide isn't open yet. There waiting for a part to come. Something I also noticed coming this morning looks like they have done some new re stripping of the main lot.
  11. The weather is supposed to be in the low 90's this weekend be nice to have Rip Tide up running by this weekend? Whats the problem with Rip Tide? Has it tested yet this season? If it's not open by this weekend with the hot weather I think they should replace it with a giant Frisebee something like a max air.
  12. Drove by Valleyfair on the way to work saw a big ballon for the ReMax company the other company for next Sunday is the Carlson Company?
  13. I also woukd like to see a giant frisbee and a water park expansion for next year. My favorite flat rides are northern lights, enterprise, Xtreme Swing. I have also mention some things to ride operators and supervisors about Renegade that once the line gets past the tunnel and to the 2nd que they do need to put a second train on.
  14. So far my favorite dining plan is the jumbo pronto pups by Wild Thing with a bag of chips.
  15. I was going to do a few rides this morning but they already have 9,000 people expected today. I went back to Renegade hopeing to do a few rides the line was already past the tunnel to the 2 nd que line with one train already a 45 minute wait High Roller had a full que line with two trains running. Looks like a busy day and Extreme Swing plus Steel Venom have full que lines not even noon yet. It's mostly school groups. Does anyone know how long the school groups come?
  16. (2. Remove the Top Spin -----> Put in a Mondial Giant Frisbee.) I think they need to replace Rip Tide for a giant Mondial Frisbee in the same location. Has anyone seen Rip Tide been open yet this season or is it waiting for the weather to get warmer. So far I have been to the park I haven't seen Rip Tide running yet? I would be fine if they replace Rip Tide for a giant Frisbee. Removing Steel Venom to California's Great America I don't think that's a great idea personally. Valleyfair can't afford to loose any coaster's right now. I actually like Steel Venom. What would you replace Steel Venom with?
  17. I'm going to take the second answer (B). Keep Looping Star Ship give it some new paint and a new que line. There's a few sports in the park were you could relocate Looping Star Ship. (1) Move it over by were the old tilt a whirl use to sit put it in the open grass area by Wild Thing. (2) Possible would the Looping Star Ship fit under the Wild Thing turn around? (3) One other location you could move Looping Star Ship put it in between The Wave and Corkscrew they have space over there. Once that's done you could remove Hurricane Falls and take out the elevator and stair structure and move the Soak City enterance over by Mad Mouse flatten out the land keep Raging Rapids build a new slide tower on top facing south there you should have enough space for a raft race or a new slide tower.
  18. Yes I'm asking if the rumor on screamscape will be true or not for 2017? I know Matt said that all Cedar Fair parks would eventually get a dark ride. I first read the rumor last night. Also my opinion I think the guy who posts rumors on screamscape reads these threads and it's possible that rumors start from people who work at Valleyfair? I do like reading screamscape rumors can be fun to read sometimes.
  19. If the rumor is true. Would Valleyfair be the first park to get a dark ride for 2017?
  20. There's a new rumor just posted on screamscape for Valleyfair possibly getting a new dark ride in 2017? Would the hi test arcade building be big enough for a dark ride?
  21. Taking out the Hurricane Falls and keep the stair structure and build on top of the Raging Rapids that would be a logic spot for the next Soak City water park expansion and re locate the looping star ship and move the Soak City enterance over by Mad Mouse there would be enough space for a new slide tower or maybe a raft race.
  22. How about removing Hurricane Falls? Replace that with a new giant slide tower more tube slides or a raft racer? The only thing I would want them to keep is Raging Rapids there rare water ride and it's my favorite water ride in Soak City right now.
  23. That would make sense to move the Soak City enterance over by Mad Mouse and re locate Looping Star Ship somewhere else there you would have room for another Soak City water park expansion. I would think your going to see another water park expansion. When the Dino contract is up that would be my prediction for a new coaster to come footers in 2018. For next year I would like to see a Frisebee for a new thrill ride with a water park expansion at the same time. Early next week it's supposed to get into the 90's again.
  24. I did stop by the park for a few hours before I went to work like I normally do. Went back to Renegade ask one of the ride operators I know about the attandence for today said park was expecting about 10,000. The park looked really busy one ride on Renegade 45 minute two trains running line past the tunnel.
