Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

We got caught by this a couple years ago, bought our Park tickets on cyber Monday and booked express hotel separately. At check in we were told we would have to pay for parking at the park. -
Nagashima Spa Land Discussion Thread

I am thinking of going to Japan over Christmas time, I have done some googling but haven't found much information on nagashima spa land in winter . Does anyone know if the roller-coasters are open throughout winter? I have been to nagashima before so the main ride that I will want to get on is Hakugei. -

We made it to the park on 01/01, we didn't get to the park until midday due to being up late for new years. T express had just opened when we arrive and only had a 30 minute wait. It was awesome, think that it is my favourite wooden coaster. We got 4 rides on t express, it was wierd being so cold while riding a roller-coaster. We really enjoyed the pandas and the safari too. -

Thank you so much for your help. Looks like I could go on the 31st or the 1st but I assume both of those days will be super busy. -

I am planing on going to the park September 21, I can only go to the park for 1 day. Is it worth staying at Europa Park hotel to get the half hour early entry? -

I am planning a trip to Oktoberfest this year and hoping to hit up a couple of parks while in the country. This question seems a bit silly but I am looking at the park hours and for 15 September and it states "Opening hours: Full", I assume that means the park is booked out and not open to Public? The 15th would work best for our schedule but could go on the 16th if required. -

From memory as soon as the early entry opens people start to line up. Then they open the office a few minutes before the park opens. As we didn't know any Japanese we prepared the rides/time we wanted on a printout. This made the process much easier for us. -

Just got back from an awesome 14 hour day at the park. Got on the last train on TTD after it broke down at close and they made the effort to get it fixed for us. The biggest surprise of the park was the Extreme Wheels show, the performers were incredible! -

With parking at cedar point can you leave the carpark and come back in without having to pay again? -

Everywhere was super busy so we just ended up getting a pulled pork burger and chicken tenders, pretty average. Can't remember what the place was called. We had a good two days at the park, we just had to try keep lightning rod out of our minds. Might come back in 5 years or so, it should be reliable by then. -

Why does Dolly have to tease me? Watching it test both trains again. It looks like it's running consistently. -

At the park today/tomorrow from Australia, was watching it test earlier. Hoping for a miracle for tomorrow. -
Planning a trip to the states
Shark replied to Shark's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Will start the drive in Atlanta and end at one of Cleveland, Detroit or Chicago, which city will depend on what flights I can find to Denver. Lucky coming from country Australia I am use to long boring drives. -

Thanks for your advice. Yet to look at rental car prices but expecting it to be expensive. Only planning on going to Denver to visit an old friend so no need for a theme park there. -

Coming from Melbourne Australia so Lax is our gateway to the states. Thanks for that link, I will have to look into Cuba. Plenty of flights from CancĂșn to Cuba and can fly direct from Cuba to Atlanta for a decent price. -

Anything is possible just have to start and finish at Lax. We did Orlando and Miami last time but would be happy to return. Only thing that is set is Mexico as my partner wants to go there. So I thought it makes sense to do that first or last. I want to go to Knoebel's just got to make the travel in a logical order. -
Hi All, My partner and I traveled to the states 2 years ago where I introduced her to theme parks and roller coasters. Now she is as addicted as me, so it is time for us to return to the states for more. We just booked return flights from Australia to LAX we arrive May 21 and fly out June 23. Now for the fun part of planning this trip. The holiday won't be theme park exclusive(unfortunately). Here is our tentative plan: - Magic Mountain(Pick up season pass) - Knotts Berry Farm (Pick up season pass) - Mexico (Six Flag Mexico) - Cuba - Alanta (SFOG) - Carowinds - Dollywood - Pigeon Forge - Kentucky kingdom - King Island - Cedar Point - Chicago (SF Great America) - Denver - Universal Studios Hollywood - Disney Land With this plan Magic Mountain and Cedar point are the only parks we have already been to. The plan is to hire a car in Atlanta and drive up to Cedar Point. The plan will be to spend 1 day at all parks but Cedar Point. Will budget for fast passes where required. I will try to find accommodation halfway between parks. Any advice on additional activities to do around the these parks would be greatly appreciated. I am open to recommendations for a different version of the road trip. Originally I was only going to revisit Cedar Point this trip if Mean streak was reopened 2017 but this road trip seems like the easiest route to take with maximum parks(that I could work out).
