  1. It's awesome Larry. Great addition to the park. Glad you couldn't be there LOL!!!! Selfish comment there!
  2. ^^^Awesome report. Glad you enjoyed my home park!
  3. Six Flags Great Adventure invited TPR to the media day for their brand new 4D interactive thrill ride, JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis. It was a perfect day to be at the park. Super friendly Communications Director, Kristin Siebeneicher, kicked off the ceremony by thanking everyone who was attending the media event and also all of the partners that helped bring JLBFM to life. Then she received a "bulletin" which was the introduction to Park President, Neal Thurman. He was joined by the DC Superheros Wonder Woman, Superman & Batman. He also thanked others who made the ride happen and then went into several details about this new attraction. A warning alert went off with the announcement that The Joker and Lex Luthor were attempting to breach security. The Justice League members left the podium and headed into the ride to help. Neal then called everyone in attendance the Justice League Reserve Team and said the time was now to help save Metropolis. They had a 10 second count down and at zero confetti and fireworks went off. Now it was time to enter the building. The amount of detail that went into the queue is incredible. There are two main indoor queue rooms before you get to the loading room. The first features statues of Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman along with a monitor that is telling the story line. This story line continues throughout the queue right up till you start the ride. The second room has more monitors and several wall mounted signs that describe the characters and also the ride itself. When you enter the loading room the Cyborg animatronic is there and it is also in sync with the running story line. The detail in Cyborg is awesome. The ride itself is a great mix of 3D and live room scene's which includes The Joker animatronic. The ride vehicles are comfortable and they move around a lot. I can't say enough about the detail in every aspect of this ride. It's a ton of fun, the gaming element is entertaining, and visually it's amazing. I really like how they have redone the entire area around JLBFM and renamed it Metropolis. When you enter they have it setup like your crossing the Metro-Narrows Bridge. There's two eateries, Munchopolis and Metro Grill. The bathroom is themed, Chiller's old observatory is now called Lena Luthor Science Explorarium and the Showcase Theater received a facelift. Great Adventure has upped the game with this new ride and surrounding area. It's the perfect addition to the parks lineup. A huge thank you to the entire Six Flags Great Adventure team for hosting this event and to Robb and TPR for having us cover it! Here's a video of JLBFM. Thanks for checking out this trip report!
  4. Batman also offers a single rider line through the flash pass entrance now. ME's new trains are awesome. Definitely try it.
  5. Great to hear that this coaster won't get torn down. Looks amazing!
  6. Don't forget to try ME since it has the new trains. It's a much better ride now.
  7. I know that previous years they offered the one price cup with free refills but it seems like it got dropped this year at least from some of the parks. I haven't seen it at SFNE. The yellow cup is the season dining pass cup.
  8. Absolutely awesome report. Thanks for sharing!
  9. I'm guessing that they are moving the VR to other parks now. TGE is supposed to get it as an example. Probably sharing headsets.
  10. At SFNE try Mind Eraser. The new trains that they added this year have vastly improved the ride. No more head banging. I also think their Joker is better than GA's version. Ride the green side.
  11. Thanks to the both of you. Even though the weather wasn't very cooperative it was still a lot of fun to do. Glad you liked the pics and report!
  12. Six Flags New England invited TPR to The Joker 4D Free Fly Coaster media day. When we arrived the weather wasn't great but that didn't stop a good crowd from attending. The park really does a great job with these events and this was no exception. They started off with Park President John Winkler thanking everyone for coming and talking about the new additions for this year. Not only did the park add The Joker but also new trains on Mind Eraser and an entire new season with Holiday in the Park premiering this year which will start the day after Thanksgiving. One interesting point he stressed was that this was the largest capital investment the park has made since 2000 when it was branded as a Six Flags park. I found that pretty impressive with all of the additions in recent years. After that he turned it over to the park's awesome Communications Manager, Jen McGrath, and they invited several comedians up to do 1 minute stand up routines. They had judges from Gotham representing Bruce Wayne. After that the Joker crashed the party took the comedians away to make them be the first riders on his coaster and then blew up confetti on everyone. It was definitely an entertaining event. OK on to the Joker. Having already been on Great Adventure's version I knew what to expect but was still excited to try it out. Although they are the same layout with a similar look I have to say I like SFNE's version better which includes the coaster and the look of the queue. The only suggestion to make it even better would be to tune it so it spins more. I had between 2 or 3 spins on the rides that I took on the green side and was told that the purple side was spinning less. I really hope they give it a shot because I think it would make it even more popular. This 4D Free Fly coaster concept is a disorientating experience. Every ride really is different which makes it very unique. The placement in the park is great and it's a fun solid addition that will definitely draw crowds for many years to come. A huge thank you to the entire Six Flags New England team for hosting this event and to Robb and TPR for having us cover it! Here's our onride video from the media event: Here's some pics from the day. Welcome to Agawam for The Joker's Media Day. Sky Screamer is really in the clouds today! Heading in to Six Flags New England Yup that's why we are here. Even with the bad weather all of these people too. The joksters, judges & Jen. Then this guy crashed the party and I ran into problems with him later. Let's check out the queue. I like how they are starting to add theming to the maintenance building. SFNE has been adding a lot of little touches like this with each of their newer additions. Here's some of the Carnival of Criminals. Look no line Facts Ease loading with these trains. Here's some shots of The Joker in action. FunHouse Gifts is the new gift shop addition. The Dark Knight himself is checking it out! The location just makes this coaster dominate the area. It looks great in the park. Thanks for checking this trip report out!
  13. Depending on the weather I would think both days will be busy being Monday is a holiday. If you want to ride Joker just be there at opening and head straight to it to avoid the big lines that will probably be there for it all day.
  14. Yea they took it down yesterday but then posted again this morning that it would open. From what I read corporate decided to not open it yesterday with the couple issues that happened on Friday. Today was a go though.
  15. If anyone is going today the park posted that Joker will open for season pass preview.
  16. You and me both. We ended up leaving after doing Cyclone, Houdini's, and Thunderbolt. Took one look at Superman and said peace out. Ended up going to Dorney where everything was a walk on. You drove all the way to Dorney from the park? Seems like an awefully long trek in one day park to park.
  17. These are some awesome pics. The last time I was at AK was before Everest was built. I loved the park even back then. Can't wait to visit again.
  18. Hope this is the experience!!!! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  19. Maybe the next upgrade will be two train operations on Thunderbolt. Great day at the park today. There's a very clear improvement in operations so far this season. Only ride that was really down was Flashback which is still sitting where it valleyed.
  20. SFNE Online posted a video of Joker testing. I hope they run it like this!!!! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  21. The park posted a side by side of Mind Eraser's Galactic Attack VR. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  22. Who would think it would valley there? LOL. Obviously the platform is there for something totally different.
