  1. If they were to do anything, keep the trains and add padding. Personally, I don't find anything wrong with the trains and they are really photogenic so keeping the trains looking the way they are is fine with me.
  2. A video I filmed and edited from this past summer. Since Magnum is my favorite coaster at the park I thought it was deserving of a video. I hope you enjoy. Any thoughts about the video are much appreciated. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  3. I may be planning a trip to some California parks scheduled for the week of May 11th. The parks I want to go to are Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott's Berry Farm, and maybe Six Flags Magic Mountain. Has anybody been to these parks during the middle of May in previous years? How are the crowds?
  4. I agree. The transition coming out of the second launch is awful. The side-swipe things (or whatever you want to call them) during the second part of the ride certainly aren't enjoyable either.
  5. It looks like I am part of the minority in that I enjoy Mean Streak. I've never once had a bad experience while riding the coaster. I figure that some people will say that I am lying when I say that but it is true. I can understand when people say that it is rough but I do not find it bad. Yes, there are a few spots that aren't the most comfortable but I can't find it being terrible. A coaster that I seem to never have a good experience on is Corkscrew. That coaster is just painful; especially coming out of the loop and out of the second corkscrew. Another coaster that I can't stand is Mean Streak's neighbor, Maverick. People seem to praise over that coaster and I just don't get it. In my opinion it is in too tight of a space and therefore it hurts. The thing that gets me the most is that the lap bar is always stapled down on my legs by the end of the ride no matter how hard I try to keep it from doing that. I could ride Mean Streak all day and say that I enjoyed it better than if I ride Maverick even just once.
  6. I've posted this video before but it was on my old account. I deleted it off of that one and made a separate account just for my amusement park videos. If you haven't seen this yet feel free to watch and share! Let me know what you think; I always enjoy constructive criticism. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  7. I'm back with yet another video. This one focuses on Magnum since I unintentionally took quite a lot of Magnum footage. Let me know what you think. [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/XPHXo-prtAA[/youtu_be]
  8. It took two days worth of filming to get all the shots. I wanted to film a third day to include Gatekeeper but unfortunately it didn't happen.
  9. Here is a video I made over the summer. Please let me know how it is. [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/qOvxheWE5fs[/youtu_be] **Before you comment asking why I didn't film Gatekeeper, the reason there is no Gatekeeper footage is because on the day I filmed towards the front of the park Gatekeeper was down. It was one of the three days in a row that it was down.**
  10. A video I made of Dragster. Kind of cool and funny. http://youtu.be/VVcYwmEBcUw?list=UUJgsA0pNOr5emKmtkyZZk9g
  11. I may be planning a trip to Walt Disney World and the Universal parks sometime between Thanksgiving and the middle of December. I know that Disney and Universal can get very crowded during Thanksgiving week. I'm wondering how busy the parks can get immediately following Thanksgiving. I've been to the parks a few weeks after Thanksgiving where it wasn't too busy because it wasn't quite Christmas vacation for most folks. However, do the parks usually get large crowds the week following Thanksgiving into early to mid-December?
  12. I would grayout a lot on Dominator at Geauga Lake (now at Kings Dominion) on the first loop. I also grayout most of the time on Millennium Force at CP during the first overbanked turn. When I ride, I usually have enough food and water in my system so I don't know why I grayout.
  13. Most rides in a row: 13 times on Millennium Force at CP. Of course it was cold and rainy so it hurt but it was worth it. Most rides overall: last season I probably rode Power Tower the most at CP mainly because I was a ride operator for it.
  14. I worked at the park last year. The fast lane entrance most likely won't move for this year.
  15. I worked on Power Tower this past season at CP. A woman came up to me at PT's entrance with her child and I had to measure his height because he looked kind of short; he wasn't tall enough. The mother insisted that he was tall enough because he just rode Dragster. I went on to explain that Dragster's height requirement was 48" and Power Tower is 52". She stood there for about 5 minutes telling me that I was wrong and she was right. She then said that she'd be right back with a park map to show me that she was right. She never came back.
  16. I have never said that I don't feel some rides are "better" at night, I just don't think any ride I've been on is "significantly" better at night. The Beast. 'nough said
  17. If it's a nice day weather wise, I'm expecting larger crowds due to Gatekeeper. The line for Gatekeeper will be very long because it's the new ride.
  18. I'm glad to see Tony back as well. I'm excited for his OnPoint and the PointCast's.
  19. Boo Blasters on Boo Hill at Kings Island is quite a good ride. It reminds me of a mix between Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin at MGM Studios.
  20. I worked at Cedar Point this season (2012) for the first time. In my opinion, in order to work on a ride you want to (especially the coasters you mentioned) you would have to have previous year experience. If I were to apply for next season, which I may, I probably have a say as to what ride I want to work. However, as a first year employee I'm guessing they put you wherever they need you. You can always suggest a specific ride to work on but they can't always get you that ride. I'm guessing most employees who are applying for next season will want to work on GateKeeper since it will be the newest coaster.
  21. We parked near the Soak City parking lot in a maintenance lot and it took us literally an hour and a half to leave.
  22. This upcoming weekend is Columbus Day weekend. Last year on this weekend, Cedar Point hit an all-time record high of 70,000+ people on Saturday. If the weather cooperates, I wouldn't be surprised if there are similar results this year. I was there last year on that day and it was crazy.
