  1. Oh for sure. We're actually staying downtown near the Riverwalk. Our first couple of days will be exploring the city. Thanks!
  2. We'll be there the weekend after. It will be our first time visiting San Antonio. While it would be awesome to get to ride Wonder Woman, I'm more excited about their other RMC.
  3. Good clarification. We got ours at Cedar Point and then it was nice to have at Kings Island and Carowinds. If only I knew about it when we were at Knott's earlier in the year. Would have had a couple more photos and would have saved a whole $10! BTW, it was a fun surprise to discover a video clip in my FunPix account from our Mystic Timbers ride, especially since we were in the front seat. I hope they add something like that on SV.
  4. This thread totally got me checking the Knott's webcam right now and I just caught a test cycle.
  5. We went during the first week of the season, so I was willing to forgive the super slow service. We had the Cleveland Cheese Steak, which tasted fine but had strangely cold meat despite the cheese being perfectly melted and the bread well toasted. TL;DR I probably wouldn't eat there again.
  6. Still one of my favorite things to quote.
  7. those are add on days to what's already available. but yeah, when i got that email, i questioned it because i did remember it being all of september. Ignore me. I forgot our 2017 passes are from SFDK from our trip last year (only $50 each). I guess I got that email from renewing 2018 with SFMM again. Anyway we're heading to the park in an hour. Right now, the app doesn't show Apocalypse being closed, so maybe we'll get a lap.
  8. The email I received a couple of days ago said the BAFF offer is for today (September 21) or October 9.
  9. ^ Awesome. We're going Friday morning for a few hours. I haven't been on Apocalypse in a few years.
  10. Dang the last time I went up the Sky Tower, I watched them test Superman before it opened. Yes this was summer 1996.
  11. That's a good point. Really no reason to complain when you keep that in mind. I'm looking forward to riding this regardless.
  12. Never knew this place existed to be honest. Good to know next time we visit Portland.
  13. I'm sure people have joked about a shed, but that brake run at the end of the POV does look super long.
  14. Gotta admit that I'm not as excited now that spinning is confirmed, but it should be a fun and impressive ride. I'm still excited to visit next year for the first time and super excited to ride Outlaw Run.
  15. Lol at these two being separate items. 8. Most airtime on a hybrid roller coaster (27.2 seconds) 9. Most airtime on any roller coaster (27.2 seconds) I guess they had to come up with a list of 10. Anyway, looking forward to riding this in a year or so.
  16. I know. I was referring to this statement implying the MCBR was installed some time after opening. I'm guessing firebird81 is referring to the period of time when the trains would roll right through as opposed to slowing/stopping first. That's when the drop out of the MCBR was at its best.
  17. I'm pretty sure that Ghostrider opened with a block brake. When I visited in January 1999, I got evacuated from said block brake.
  18. ^ Yes thank you. I just checked this year's November schedule to get an idea and it's pretty much how Dollywood was last November. It's quite a while from now so we'll see how things go. Thanks again. Now back to (possibly) spinny coaster musings...
  19. Thanks! Hiking and nature in general is more appealing to us than a water park (didn't even realize there is one tbh). Glad you brought that up. We visited Dollywood last November and it was an awesome time, so I assume SDC would be similar. I don't mind the cold as long as the coasters are running.
  20. I'm so glad we went in late January while Revolution was in between VR programs. Walked right on during early entry. As for the new ride, I'm looking forward to trying it in September.
  21. Been meaning to ask, what is a good time of year to visit this park? Weather, crowd size, night rides possibly, other considerations in the area...
  22. Just wanted to say thanks for all this great info. We're visiting for the first time in August. I already know it will be tough to not just head straight to Fury.
