  1. Is it any surprise that the chain is cloning OOF's slide complex once again at another water park in the chain? I think this makes the 4th (counting the original).
  2. Congrats? WOF does most of their attendance during HAUNT
  3. I'm pretty positive WoF is not 2 to 3 times larger than Valleyfair, if that is what you're saying. Depends on what he means by larger. Land size? Definitely Attendance? Maybe Revenue? Probably Value? DEFINITELY
  4. If only it was that simple. The problem is, WOF has had to do a lot of infrastructure work here recently. - Replacing piping (water) - Renovation of Viking Voyager and Lake area - Retrack of Timber Wolf - Complete rebuild of Thunderhawk - Complete rebuild of Bamboozler - Upgrade of Scrambler lighting - Parking lot at OOF and the list goes on. I imagine that WOF also took over the remaining costs of paying off WindseekerHawk from KBF
  5. Don't even waste you time going to SDC, it is an over rated and over priced wasteland. The only ride that is sort of OK is Outlaw Run. So says a troll on Theme Park Review. Don't forget the S&S Shot Tower from the far superior Celebration City that was a few miles away I'm glad S.D.C got the double shot rather than a space shot, I love double shots while I find space shots less powerful and maybe even tame. The CC/SDC S&S tower is one of the tamest in the country. Are you sure you're not a troll? No one can be this misguided on opinions.
  6. 13 year old. Ok that explains the attitude. Probably should have led with that. Now I know how to handle your posts. Having worked with middle school kids I know from experience that "everything sucks" and how you're all experts at "what is cool" -- I'll just take your posts with a grain of salt, roll my eyes and move on And judging by your list of places you've been - no you've not been anywhere. SDC is one of the best parks in the nation. One day you'll realize this when you actually do some real traveling.
  7. I-305 Bizarro (SFNE) X2 Maverick
  8. Dude has never seen where the Star Flyer on Galveston Pleasure Pier was put if he's questioning that placement. Look, everything I posted is just some pie in the sky vision. I think it could be done. Now if he's got something against SDC well that's crazy. He lost me at favoring surface lots over attractions. A simple google image search for mixed use entertainment complex degelopment can give you all kinds of ideals. I said somewhere on here what I hate so much about S.D.C, but I do favor ground surfacing and normal stuff like that. It just looks prettier to me to see a ride surrounded by trees, shrubs, and flowers, and sometimes fountains, simple things like that. Oh. And I'm going to S.D.C tomorrow, I need a thrill fix and I feel like riding Accelerator. If anybody else is going I'm the kid with blonde hair, brown eyes, wearing black or maroon high tops, with the semi fat tall kid that's probably wearing a car shirt, and the blonde young lady. If you see me just call me Eli Mertens. Why would anyone want to hang out with a punk that would obviously ruin a great park experience? If you think SDC is "teh sux" you obviously haven't traveled much.
  9. All right, I'll bite because I'm curious where you're going with this What's your "ideal" park then if SDC is so hideous.
  10. YES! I could go without S.D.C, close S.D.C, put White Water in it's place, reopen Celebration City! PERFECT! I'd rather have a fun, 50's/60's theme park than a mediocre hillbilly park. smh You have to be trolling. No one could possibly be that stupid.
  11. If you're going to relocate WW, move it out by SDC
  12. Well I wouldn't claim it as my homepark. I live smack dab in the middle of Missouri so I have 3 parks very close to me (SFStL - 2 hours, WOF - 2 hours, SDC - 3.5 hours). I have passes to all of them, but I will tell you that even though it is farther away from me, I will pick SDC over the other two any time. I think the reason I keep getting passes for WOF and SF is so that I can go to the other parks in those chains... well that and HAUNT at WOF is amazing. I just get very annoyed with SFStL and it's not a new thing. The park is so rundown. Yeah, they've been trying to fix it back up and some of the "new" areas look decent - but the fact they let it get to that point is really unacceptable. There are so many scars around the park where things used to be. Empty buildings and things just falling apart. When I was there on Tuesday, there were 3 rides broken in the main park and 2 slide complexes in the water park broken. You also had STOP running at half capacity. At what point is enough enough?
  13. It was sold to another park - I know that it is no longer in the chain.
  14. I'll put it in to perspective. I have visited 5 Six Flags parks this season (SFFT, SFoT, SFGAm, SFoG, and SFStL). I live closest to SFStL, yet I went almost the entire season before I visited it - why? - because it pretty much sucks. I've already decided that unless there is something major added next year (or something major added at a SF park in route to where I am going next summer) I'm not bothering to renew my pass and I've had a SF pass for over 25 years straight. The park doesn't even feel like it's trying any more.
  15. You haven't been to very many Six Flags parks I take it? I'll gladly drive right past the park (it's less than 2 hours away) to go to a better one that's farther away
  16. I don't see why they didn't just build another bumper car building elsewhere. I agree that the Boomerang did really improve the aesthetics of that area, even if I'll never ride it again
  17. Well you remember how well they covered the building of WindseekerHawk and how there were no photos of the construction of Splash Island. In fact if not for a tweet from Frank Wilburn on the Grand Opening of Splash Island I don't think there was any coverage to speak of. Hollye is the other member of the marketing team and while she at least makes an attempt now and then, she's not much better. We were spoiled by Brandon (and before him Chris Ozimeck who is now with Schlitterbahn GI)
  18. That was Brandon Stanley who has since gone on to work at NWMSU Racheal is the current PR manager and she is usually "too busy" to be bothered to do any actual marketing.
  19. They had as little or as much space as they wanted. It's not like they couldn't have gone over the train tracks into backstage if they needed more room.
  20. Um, Goliath WAS a "2nd generation" For some reason it turned out to be a majorly inferior product of the original though.
  21. No new gate next year. Project has been put on hold. We will get a "new" ride(s) next year.
  22. Unless they add something major next year, I'm not even sure I'll bother with visiting the park next year. Went on Tuesday and the park just feels run down. Broken attractions and just a lot of "scars" from things that used to be in places and closed buildings. I guess there's a reason that I'd already visited 5 SF parks prior to this visit and SFSTL is the closest to me.
  23. The keel boat was called the Henrietta. There was a sailing ship (pirate ship) called Victrix that was on the lake near Viking Voyager (same lake that Sea Dragon is on now).
