  1. Hydra is an enthusiast meme because it's apparently so heartlined that it has no force through any part of the ride. I haven't been on it so I can't say personally, but that's what I hear.
  2. 5-1 is the Arrow looper seat. For MF, my favorite seats were front, second row, and I think 7-1? Can't remember where I sat most of the nighttime rides on my visit
  3. Seeing the surrounding area really increases the sensation of height. Wildfire is seriously of my favorite B&M loopers (#1 is still Raptor). I'd probably rank my top 3 something like this 1. Raptor 2. Wildfire 3. Thunderbird
  4. With a KI budget, SFStL could honestly be one of the best Six Flags parks. A signature steel coaster (the infamous hyper, for example, or RMC Boss even though Boss rocks anyway) could really push it up there. Eagle and Boss at night sound amazing. The setting against the wooded hill makes the park look so pretty too.
  5. I have yet to ride Steel Vengeance. That's still a ways out. 1a. Millennium Force - SPEEEEEED!!!!!!! RAW UNFETTERED SPEEEEEED!!!! 1b. Maverick - ridiculous intensity. RMC probably modeled the Raptor clones after this 2. Raptor - the inversions are so ridiculously snappy. can't wait to ride more of the custom old-school inverts (either Afterburn or Montu is next) 3. Top Thrill Dragster - good rush, could probably ride all day. the launch never ends 4. Valravn - smooth, graceful, awesome dive drop, and no headaches 5. Blue Streak - this is to ejector air what Screamin Eagle @ SFStL is to floater air. at least for an out and back woodie 6. Rougarou - smooth, fun, rerideable, but right across from Millennium Force. so if you're riding it and Millie's open, you probably got the short end of the stick 7. Magnum XL-200 - clunky but really not that rough. it's like if a mine train had a hyper coaster layout 8. GateKeeper - swoopy and fun, plus a great location, but it's definitely not my favorite wing coaster. not as intense as Thunderbird and doesn't have Wild Eagle's hyper coaster drop. 9. Mean Streak - R I P 10. Wicked Twister - slightly more fun than most other credit stops. I can see how the ones with holding brakes would be terrifying 11. Gemini - it's like small Magnum but with racing 12. Iron Dragon - fun but not memorable. The Bat @ KI ruined it for me by being way better -good coasters end here- 13. Cedar Creek Mine Ride - riding it feels about the same as not riding it. everyone who is alive and breathing basically already has the credit 14. Corkscrew - it's like the default coaster option in a bad RCT ripoff. in fact, the default coaster option in all bad RCT ripoffs probably came from Corkscrew
  6. Quick clarification: if I'm planning to take advantage of the After 3 deal, I buy the ticket for the first day (when I'm arriving after 3pm), correct?
  7. Voyage in 2016 was very smooth, with the only less-than-ideal roughness in wheel seats (and even that was pretty bearable). Legend was smooth but didn't really do anything except laterals (which are fun but not as fun as on The Boss). Raven had an awesome layout and setting but it felt like it was shredding the train apart to the point of discomfort.
  8. I dunno, I liked FoF, Invertigo, and Vortex, but hated Firehawk. To each their own.
  9. Maybe if Magnum gets RMCd people will stop complaining about how uncomfortable the trains and airtime ar- wait a minute
  10. not to mention each new seat you ride it in - it's a totally different experience depending on if you sit in row 3 on the left side or row 4 on the right side!
  11. yeah but none of it will matter because Steel Vengeance isn't a real credit anymore due to the midcourse being slightly stronger
  12. That wouldn't surprise me. RRE is a coaster that takes a lot of care and had a few issues last season (not sure what). Hopefully it opens this season in great condition.
  13. KI was my first impression of Cedar Fair operations, and it definitely got me way excited for Cedar Point the next day. The operations are just as good, if not better, than CP (depending on the ride).
  14. There are also misting fans everywhere, especially over by ShockWave. Great stuff when it's so hot.
  15. It's about 50/50. The first half of the queue is outdoor (albeit shaded) switchbacks but most of the time on slow days the queue is only out to the indoor section which has air conditioning that works most of the time. The station and ride have great air conditioning and most of the queue is either shaded, indoors, or air conditioned. Luckily, the whole park is pretty well shaded (especially the Texas/Spain side) except the Gotham section. Fortunately, Mr. Freeze has a comfortable (indoor, mostly cold) queue, but Batman's queue is long and like standing in an oven.
  16. Souvenir cups are definitely recommended. La Vibora, Pandemonium, Joker, and Mr Freeze are gonna be your typical low capacity coasters, though Freeze has a nice air conditioned queue and a dual-load station so it's not that bad. Runaway Mountain also pulls decent lines and is one of the best family coasters out there (restraints are wonky but the back row is way more fun than it should be). NTAG at rope drop on lighter days, depending on the operations and ride ops, can be 2-3 rerides before a line builds up, though these earlier rides are a little sluggish compared to later in the day (it warms up pretty quickly though). Vibora will probably open late. Getting to Titan is slightly confusing but not too bad, and following it up with a ride on NTAG is a great palate cleanser. Clockwise is generally a good way to hit the park. Judge Roy is pretty much exclusively a front seat ride, not for roughness but for airtime. Mr. Freeze is best on either end for forces and intensity, not to mention the spike. The log flume and mine train are supposedly the originals, and are fun (idk if it has it this season, but the log flume had a real funky smell last time we were there. a log flume enthusiast like yourself might appreciate a unique quality like that, not to mention its historical relevance, but the smell did kinda spread to a good third of the park lmao). The rapids ride will get you soaked, but is surprisingly immersive, not just for SF but in general. As for flats, S:ToP is a fantastic drop tower, the 400ft Star Flyer is fun (probably a worse view than SFNE's with their lake and all, but fun nonetheless, especially at night when the park's lit up), and of course Riddler Revenge (the giant frisbee) is fantastic.
  17. I'm pretty sure whatever closure was being reported was just bad timing on someone's part. Temporary stuff. Hope you enjoy your time there! Hopefully ShockWave isn't running the way it was during the VR deal - every drop felt hella neutered except the first one
  18. The only coaster I've ridden that's "bad" on the thighs is Magnum if you don't tighten the seatbelt enough, and maybe the B&Ms with vest restraints, the wing coasters and Banshee that tighten during the ride (Valravn didn't do this, so maybe it's fixed(?) or maybe it just hadn't developed a problem yet). I haven't been on STR or Skyrush. The only discomfort I felt on OR was the shin bars, and those weren't really noticeable outside the station and brake run.
  19. Powder Keg is so much fun. The launch, setting, and sensation of speed really make it worth the while. Thunderation absolutely hauls through the trees. Wildfire is one of my favorite B&M loopers (setting + smooth + that first drop!), and of course Outlaw Run is one of the most flat-out fun wooden coasters out there. Basically, every coaster at SDC is unique and one of the best of its kind. I can't wait to ride Time Traveler this summer.
  20. There was rain forecasted for both days we were there in 2016, which was awesome because it lightened the crowds, even though it only really rained for like an hour max each day. The rain on the second day led to the best ride on Millennium Force to ever exist, even if it did stop us from getting a second ride on TTD. There are definitely pros and cons to the weather at CP.
  21. When I was there in 2016, the longest we waited in a line for a coaster was 15-20 minutes for Thunderbird, though Voyage broke down for about an hour both times we went to ride (if it weren't for the breakdowns it'd have been 5-10 minutes). Raven was a station wait to walk-on, and Legend was maybe 10-15 (maybe a little longer, I don't remember too well). The water rides had longer lines, about 50 minutes for Mammoth and 20 for Wildebeest. I'm guessing a Sunday will have shorter waits than a Monday, but you never know. The operations are great there, so even a line that looks kinda long will move fast.
  22. I haven't been on a Sunday, but I doubt that you'll have any problem riding and reriding everything. The main nuisance to getting rerides when I was there was that the woodies tended to open late and break down more often than an average coaster.
  23. Every time I think about MF, it's always, "wait, why do I like this coaster again?" and then I just remember how ridiculously fast it goes and just never stops. Sensation of speed is off the charts with that ride and the pacing is phenomenal.
  24. Iron Rattler @ SFFT. Was near pitch black, an absolutely fantastic night ride.
  25. I wish I had gotten a second ride in near the back. That first drop + double down would be really fun to experience further back and I really can't see how it could get much rougher, ha. It has a great layout and setting. I'd imagine it gives fabulous night rides.
