  1. Makes a lot of sense. I guess that there is so much to do in DC that people dont really plan to go to the park, if they even know its there. It seems like it is one of those parks in the company that just goes unnotice. They are pretty much like "oh we have a six flags america park?" Do they market a lot in the DC area? Because i know there are a lot of colleges in DC and the surrounding area, so im wondering if college kids know about the park. Im planning on going here for a day trip in the summer, but i just looked up Six Flags New England and its a 3 and a half hour drive from where i live. Both parks are the same distance from me, so now im second guessing on which park to visit this coming summer.
  2. So i was checking out the park on google maps and a few things i have questions about. 1) With this park being so close to DC, why is it not more popular, especially with tourist in the summer. 2) I would imagine that Six Flags owns a lot of the land around the park, could they or would they invest a lot of money into the park to expand and to bring in more people that travel to the DC area? It looks like a nice park, just a little run down and unnoticed to the public/company. A little updating around the park and adding new stuff could boost this park big time.
  3. Possessed after the holding break.
  4. ^^ with the other parks in the company, it mainly about planning. Most parks have a 2-3 year plan, I believe that's what Dorneys is. They look at past years with attendance and try to project for the future. Dorney had record attendance this past summer, so if that conutines to grow, maybe cf will invest in Dorney. Cp is the what brings in a lot of the revenue for the company. So of course they will invest more. Why would cf invest in a park like MA when it could take 10 years to see a return on investment.
  5. clearly cedar fair hasn't looked at the worlds of fun, valleyfair, great america,or dorney forums. #PrayForTheBoat
  6. Oh wow. I read that completely wrong. I'm dumb.
  7. I'm not returning to this thread until the boat returns to the park. I'll be back before then
  8. That's for sharing that!! That seems like it is a really awesome read!!
  9. I see nothing wrong with CP adding a dive coaster. I think it is a wonderful addition to the park. If you fan boys don't want it send it down route 80 to route 33 to route 78 and drop it off at Dorney. Griffon is a wonderful coaster and it is one that helped me get into loving coasters so much. I can't wait to ride.
  10. I highly doubt that they will rip out Food Fest Grove if they are only going to add two catering buildings at the new location. They would have to be pretty big buildings to make up for the many pavilions in the former area. If I remember from Coastin' for Kids, just about every one of those structures were being used during our lunch. From what I heard they planed on taking out food fest. And relocating it behind white water landing. I heard that as well, down where Desolation and haunt storage is. It's where the DIM building was. That building was used for storage when Hercules was there.

  12. My prediction for the park is that after the food fest move, I think they may put in a dark ride or something along those lines where food fest is now. It's a perfect spot. Also it would be hard to do anything else right there because of the hill.
  13. Dorney also got a new PR person right as the season came to the end. I was told that they were trying to improve social media for the park.
  14. I believe they threw it in the dump. It may be up in DP dump on top of the employee lot. And yes you got the last ride on Screaming Swing. Regarding hangtimes old spot, i believe they park is trying to get all dry park lockers, by White Water Landing exit and Screaming Swing/Wild Mouse, to where hangtime was. Not 100% sure. The last i heard, it was still in the talks.
  15. according to google earth, those latest shots were taken on 10/2015, so they could be Valravn I know the street view is from September 2015. So what point are you trying to make by saying that the supports and track look just like Valravyn's? Sounds like you asked a question, and when people answered it, you said you know. I wasn't 100% sure if the tracks that were at the plant were VALRAVN track and supports because I wasn't sure how old that view was.
  16. If any expansion happens at the water park, it will be where the houses are, since Dorney owns them all.

  18. All my trips are conferred. May: Cedar Point June: Dollywood Carowinds I'll take a trip to hershey again and I'm still figuring out when to go to Six Flags America. Maybe an August trip!! Anyone visiting Dorney this summer, come visit me in the Games department. I'll give you tips on how to win games
  19. I know its where B&M track is made. Thats why i was there in the first place.
  20. I know, it was part of the dollar days in the park both times. And whenever i went up to Midway Games (located Talon) i would maybe see 4 people ride it. (im just guessing.) But someone i know from the park said that it never really had a lot of riders. So i guess they were just losing money there. A new three point challenge is suppose to go in there over the next few years.
  21. So last night I was bored so I was messing around on Google Maps. So correct me if i'm wrong, but the supports and track at clermont look just like Valravn tracks at Breakers Express? Also, does anyone know what the big building that is behind the track and supports in the street view photo used for?
  22. They'll never remove Thunder Canyon. Its one of the most popular water rides in the park, i believe.
  23. So i was talking to someone from Dorney and they said that the food fest groves are going to be for the 2017 season. Apparently it takes 2 years to built and plan them. Other news, Screaming Swing is officially in the dump.
