  1. New Texas Airtime Giant? That wasn't that hard
  2. I believe NTAG's trains don't 'click' but use the hydraulic locking system instead..confirmation?
  3. I see this A LOT on the Chance Revolution at CGA...it's not very large person friendly and ride ops attempt to push that restraint down hard enough that the green light comes on (signifying that they are actually locked). More often though, I see riders get denied as they restraint won't lock/green light doesn't come on.
  4. Uh...I'm going to put them in the same category as KTVU (when it came to KTVU reporting the false pilot names)...
  5. Uh, don't get me wrong guys but...if you don't feel safe and only clicked once, wouldn't common sense tell you to push it down more so you are secure? Does NTAG's restraints allow for further pushing down once locked? Every ride I've been on allows for further tightening..which typically happens a lot during mid ride via forces. I've also 'stapled' myself when going up the lift when I felt it was necessary... NTAG is not a coaster I'd mess around with a single click on.
  6. Yea, all of this is just giving me the chills...Seeing that another mishap happened at Cedar Point (thankfully it wasn't fatal) and this incident is bringing back the memories of summer 1999 here in the Bay Area (which consisted of mishaps at CGA that involved a death, and a coaster that stranded riders in intense heat)... With this said, my thoughts/prayers are with the family of the rider, as well as the riders who witnessed the incident on ride.
  7. Waiting for news to unfold, trying to avoid any speculation as there's a ton of "what if's." But I'm going to initially not put the blame on the manufacturers (RMC, Gerstlauer) and just assume it was rider-caused...be it weight or stupidity. We shall see.
  8. Considering CGA has a log flume, rapids, and a spill water...and SFDK only has rapids and spill water...CGA has an edge over SFDK in that dept. As others said, the park has taken more life this season, comparing to how things were looking between 2009-2011 (which weren't looking good, excluding Haunt). There's still room for it to grow and improve but its on the right path and has vastly improved this season! Shoot, even 2012 was a great season as they had a future attraction to promote.
  9. This is how I'm leaning as well. I tend to prefer woodies and would love to ride a brand new GCI. I also have a new Premier with YOLOcoaster down here at SFMM which seems to be getting better reviews than SUF... Riding Roar will leave much to be desired (it's a fun ride, but nowhere near as wild as Gold Striker). And I will confirm what Blue Fire Guy said...it is running awful this season...good if you want a hardcore back massage or spinal realignment. It's NorCal's Ghost Rider (with much less airtime). Mind made, visit CGA!
  10. Tough choice... SFDK has the animals while CGA has the water park (and more water rides). Both have awesome new coasters (superman, Gold Striker)... If you pick one, just be sure to make it a point to head back this way again to do the other park! So maybe flip a coin? Deep inside I'm really saying to hit up CGA, and ride Gold Striker!
  11. Just downloaded Earthbound today, as it finally released on virtual console. This is actually my first play through on this game. So far its a fun, quirky game! What's not to love about it?
  12. We shall now use hairtime as an official scientific unit of measurement for airtime on coasters...skip the whole negative G's thing.
  13. Thanks for sharing! As many times I've ridden it already, it never gets old. I'm always exiting the ride ready for another run on it With this said... TAKE THE HALF TUNNEL!!!
  14. Awesome, thanks for the update! Some time this century, when UT finally opens, I will head down there and snag the credit
  15. In no particular order, my favorites there were: Tatsu Goliath X2 Batman Apocalypse Haven't ridden YOLO (yet) but soon shall change
  16. The line for Vortex is empty on typical on any day anyways. Fixed that for you
  17. In other news, still related to this, looks like Asiana has plans on suing KTVU (bay area news station) for reporting the bogus names, as an act of 'defamation.' http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/asiana-reportedly-to-sue-ktvu-in-san-francisco-for-fake-pilot-names/2013/07/16/7b938836-ee2d-11e2-bed3-b9b6fe264871_story.html
  18. I saw that earlier...unfortunately, weekdays are impossible for me to pull off such things. It is neat that the park is giving passholders these perks to take advantage of. Lots of little perks (liking the $10 Skycoaster flights and other discounts) to take advantage of. If only I could attend...
  19. CarnEvil is one of those originals that's 'tried and true.' Despite the fact that I've been going through it since 2007, it's been a staple and has always been a favorite of mine. Would hate to see it go, but I really doubt that it will be leaving anytime soon. We shall see
  20. Pinfari Zyklon at the CA state fair, my 69th credit. 'Twas smooth too!
  21. I'm a bit concerned as well, based on rants I saw. Nothing annoys me more than those excessively shrill high-db screams (I will bring ear plugs), not to mention, GP who like to just flood the queue entry but not actually in line. I'm glad I have most of my SFMM credits, just need YOLO and maybe borrow a kid to get Magic Flyer... Knott's, I just need Pony and Coast Rider. Still need to register for this (figuring out travel plans before I hit the dispatch button) but should be a great event nonetheless.
  22. Yay "New haunt-ness" (yes, that was a pretty bad pun I just pulled off...new hotness) I can't wait to see what else is unveiled!
  23. I still have yet to check out the new music in the park, possibly this weekend I shall head back down that way. Too bad the Action Zone still plays the so-called iPod playlist... Got one even better...let's change Action Zone back to the classic County Fair. Not sure what music could be associated with the county fair however...other than the iPod playlist (heard your typical 'off the radio/hip music' at the fair yesterday...) Snooping on permit page, found some really exciting stuff...you guys ready for this? http://smartpermit.santaclaraca.gov/tm_bin/tmw_cmd.pl?tmw_cmd=StatusViewCase&shl_caseno=PLN2013-09921 See, told ya it would be exciting But yea, I'm missing Gold Striker already and it's only been 7 days since I last rode it. Ready to take the tunnels again.
  24. The one ride that messed me up (considering I have a pretty strong stomach) was the Crazy Train carny ride (made by Larson). Not only was it nauseating but I rode it in near triple digit tempuratures...the cars themselves, you have to kind of clench-n-squish to get in...a little too compact if you ask me...top it off, the car chambers have no airflow as you have a frosted plastic 'windshield' obstructing your view and any type of fresh air. I actually had to take a breather for a little while.
  25. Never underestimate Mater's Junkyard Jamboree! This ride actually provided some pretty hard body slams!
