  1. Well first of all, Volcano is way better than Afterburn. And many people consider I305 to be better than Fury (along with people that think otherwise though, of course) Kings Dominion also has a good lineup after their top 3, like Flight of Fear, Rebel Yell, Grizzly, and Anaconda. Carowinds' next best coaster is a boomerang. Let's face it; Carowinds has a below average coaster lineup, especially after removing Thunder Road.
  2. Even the coasters at KD dominate the coasters at Carowinds.
  3. Yet the park is still rated under Carowinds for some reason... By who? I prefer Fury to anything at Kings Dominion but that's very debatable and honestly once you get beyond that Kings Dominion blows Carowinds away. Afterburn is the only other thing Carowinds has going for it against KD. By coaster studios fanboys.

  5. The only problem I have with Kings Dominion is there's really no coaster that I would consider to have much airtime. Rebel Yell apparently has amazing airtime or something. But I've never felt anything that good, just some little pops of air. I305 has some airtime, but the restraints just kind of ruin the effect for me. Grizzly has some airtime, but I've never considered it entirely significant. Dominator has amazing floater air right after the MCBR in the back row, and on the little hill at the end, but that's all. Hurler seems to be the most airtime filled coaster in the park. If there is one thing coaster studios was right about, it's that hurler in the front seat is way smoother, and I got a lot of airtime on it for once. So I am looking forward to the new hurler, hopefully it can be the airtime coaster in the lineup. Kings Dominion has one of the most unique lineups in cedar fair. It really has some great potential to have one of the world's greatest coaster lineups some day. I would just think it would be great with another airtime filled coaster along with Hurler to balance it out a little more. I don't ask for it now, just I hope it will get something like that in the future. Honestly now I'm just rambling on about Kings Dominion, I'm not even sure what my main point was supposed to be anymore ... Anyways I've already typed it so yeah.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure KD already has a family launcher. XD
  7. You shouldn't bother. You should go to Great Adventure instead. I don't see why anyone would do that, considering that KD is a better park. It was sarcastic because the OP posted the exact same thing in both threads. Kings Dominion might be a nicer park (to some people), but Great Adventure almost certainly has the better collection of rides. The rides at Great Adventure didn't make up for the bad atmosphere... Even then the only stand out thing at great adventure is El Toro (well and Kingda Ka, but that's just a gimmick) Agree to disagree on atmosphere and rides, but that's what makes it interesting, right? Eh, I guess so. At least it isn't Carowinds...

  10. If only Volcano counted... That would be the best. I've been on TTD, KK, and Stormrunner. And stormrunner wins by far for having a farm pre exciting layout.
  11. You can't be serious? Yes... yes it is. I mean... Busch Gardens Williamsburg? The most beautiful park in the country? The park with great rides, amazing atmosphere and great natural landscaping? Yes... a park with a bunch of crappy clones where they don't do any cosmetic maintenance ever in an open field with no theming or atmosphere to speak of is terrible compared to that park. And Kings Dominion puts it to shame too. Come on, if you don't think BGW blows SFA to hell then you're delusional. You're beyond delusional... I'm just saying that even though it's not that good it isn't terrible. Even though both KD and BGW are good enough to be in the top 10 parks in the US doesn't mean six flags America is bad. On a scale Kings Dominion might rank "Amazing" but sfa would probably rank "okay" and not terrible...
  12. That's not a fact, it's an opinion. And often that opinion is based on selective criteria. Oops, I meant to say that they don't care about the park enough to build a custom layout coaster.
  13. My thoughts, along with many others exactly. I actually think locals overhype the park because they're judging it against itself and see it improving. They're 100% right, the park is improving but it's still terrible compared to other parks. I actually think non-locals are more objective because they're not judging the park against it's own reputation and seeing improvements (and they are improving so hats off to them), they're judging it against other parks in the area like Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens which completely blow this park to hell despite those improvements. And I don't mean to go out of my way to hate on the park but if someone asks about visiting and you don't set their expectations accordingly you're almost being mean because these poor people will show up expecting a respectable amusement park and instead they'll have to spend the day at Six Flags America. SFA is in no way a terrible park compared to KD or BGW. Sure it isn't as good, but people that go there are still generally going to have a pretty good time.
  14. Ik, nobody else seemed to notice this one, though so I just figured I'd post it
  15. BREAKING NEWS!!! This was on KI'S website, but they deleted it very quickly.
  16. Pleasant: Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast (sfot): having two Premier Spaghetti Bowl coasters at my home parks, I didn't expect the ride to be all that intense. But oh my gosh, the ride is short but insane! Skyrush: I was horrified on this coaster, it is extremely insane! I thought I was going to die, which is terrifying but amazing. Volcano: The whole entire ride scares me. The launches are an overwhelmingly sensory experience, along with suddenly being upside down 155 feet in the air... The whole entire ride was just a big surprise to me. Unpleasant: Green lantern (sfgadv): I HATE this coaster. The bones in my legs felt they they were going to split open. I even gave it another chance the next day, but it was still unbearably painful. El Toro: it wasn't as much an unpleasant experience as it was that I was expecting the ride to be way better than it really was. I found it somewhat shaky after the turnaround, and the type of airtime that it has wasn't my favorite. Don't get me wrong, it's a great ride, but it is fairly overrated to me. Wicked Cyclone: Again, I didn't have a bad experience, but I was expecting it to be much better. It has some great airtime, but then at the end it gets really slow, and the tiny little hills don't really provide any real airtime...
  17. It's probably going overseas. B&M doesn't start making track for American parks this early in the year.
  18. I love how screamscape is predicting a giga for 2017... Im sorry but there is absolutely no way KI is getting a giga in 2017. Even 2018 is questionable, if KI gets a giga it will probably be in 2019...
  19. Clones can be pretty bad sometimes... I'll admit there are some great clones, like spaghetti bowl, mr freeze, and ride of steel clones. And there are okay clones like batman the ride and Flying Dutchmen. But there are also just bad clones, like Vekoma SLCs, and those happen to be the most common! Also, and I know this from having sfa as my home park, when a huge park like magic mountain gets unique coasters every couple years, and sfa gets a clone or relocation basically every decade, I can get pretty annoyed. So it isn't even always the ride itself that people don't like, it's the fact that the company just doesn't care about the park...
  20. Because otherwise GP would get very confused about the big wooden coaster that isn't on the map.
  21. I hope hurler will be taken down honestly. I have even heard GP pointing out that it is a bad ride. I think it's the only ride left in the park that I want to see taken down. (Although, I've never been a big fan of backlot either...) I think that if a new coaster comes in 2017 it should be there. They could also fix up the area by adding a new entrance to the waterpark. Also, if it's a tall enough coaster and goes out far enough to the west, it might just be visible from I-95? :o Although they don't have to add a new coaster, maybe they will have GCI retrack it like they are doing with ghostrider at Knott's? I honestly don't know... But I just really hope that this is more than just hurler maintenance...
  22. By the way, I would suggest making wooden coaster supports with stairs instead of fences. So that it looks something like this: That's Rebel Yell at kings dominion that I am making, and the stairs definitely look better than fences on it for me.
  23. thanks. note: it's not easy recreating a park that was demolished 10 years ago Ikr, I tried to make geauga lake once... ._.
