  1. It does appear they are clearing around the sky cabin. Are there construction fences around the sky cabin on the Xcelerator side?
  2. Are they still working on the boomerang site nightly? I haven't been checking lately...
  3. When was the last time cedar fair worked with Gerstlauer?
  4. Following up on my last post about the summer announcement for the 2018 attraction. It was LA Times, here is the link http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-tr-knott-boomerang-2018-coaster-20170405-htmlstory.html. Makes sense to me as they can begin to build anticipation and advertise the new ride during Haunt.
  5. I read they're announcing it during summer. I believe I read that in an LA Times article...
  6. No it wasn't. The funny thing is they said the $100 million budget from the cancelled Blue World project was being put to new use, and this year was the biggest investment ever. I'm sorry but this ride, the orca encounter and a sky rocket 2 do not equal $100 million. They could have put in something amazing with $100 million.... not this
  7. Very interesting, but 100' seems a bit short for an Impulse... This makes me wonder when the city of Buena Park will review Knotts plans?
  8. My brother went to the park yesterday with his 11 year old and 5 year old and he said it was terrible. He said the kids didn't like it at all either. They are about as "GP" as you get. Seems like a fail for Seaworld, hopefully they can get through all the hurdles to get the Sky Rocket 2 built.
  9. It's nice to see SFMM and Knotts going up again and Seaworld San Diego finally not going down after a couple bad years.
  10. It looks like they're starting to dig a huge hole near the construction fences, and this point it looks like the old boomerang station may be staying. But we will see
  11. I rode the drop ride on top of the Canton Tower last month and it is pretty incredible because of how high up you are. They claim it to be the highest drop ride in the world. At the top it even tilts outward a little bit, definitely recommend!
  12. I'm curious to see if they work at all tonight with the park closing at 8 pm now on the weekdays. Makes me wonder when they will work next, looking at the webcams it looks like all the support pieces are gone.
  13. Assuming the last support comes down tonight, will they be able to start working during the day for ground clearing?
  14. It looks like almost all of the backwards lift track is down and it appears they're still working as of this morning which is a little surprising. I wonder if they'll have that whole back section of the park closed off today?
  15. Looks like work on the two lift towers has begun! Hopefully they can get all the track out before the end of the week
  16. True, I personally believe it will wrap the sky tower.
  17. Until we see any markings anywhere else or signs of construction, it's a safe assumption at this point.
  18. Knott's already has a Mack spinning coaster, so I highly doubt that they get another one. As far as Mack coasters go, I'd love to see a Blue Fire clone as Boomerang's replacement. I'm not sure if that would fit in the footprint, but it would be a great addition to the park and the first of its kind in North America. Good call, forgot about Sierra Sidewinder.... Whew!
  19. Could it possibly be the Mack launched spinning coaster prototype they showed off at IAAPA? Kinda makes sense considering the footprint that is being cleared right now. There haven't been any visible signs that the coaster will travel outside the room provided by boomerang and riptides old spot, so it technically could fit in there. I'm really hoping this isn't the case though with A skyrocket 2 going in just 80 miles south at Seaworld SD.....
  20. Did they ever say why they moved the calico stage to screaming swings old spot? If I remember correctly the old stages space is still wide open and unused. Is it possible this thing extends all the way over to that area?? If so, this coaster may be massive!
  21. Does anyone know the shop name between boomerang and the old riptide site? I think it used to be perilous paraphernalia... it's still open as of today, you gotta think that's on the chopping block as well???
  22. Looks like they already have a crane on site!!!! This thing could be down real quick!!
  23. That's the former splash pool for perilous plunge.
  24. What if this is the first beyond 90 degrees dive coaster? Surprised B&M hasn't done it yet
