Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

I get it. You are a fan boy of WoF and that's precious. However you prefer it to any park that doesn't have a giga. There is not a single ride at WoF that will bring in crowds from across the country unlike the parks you consider WoF to be equal to (if not better) - and the sad part is you have been forcing your opinion on us for more than five pages. Just saying, I don't see a ride at Valley fair that will bring in crowds from across the country either, not to mention Prowler was ranked #1 new best ride in 2009, beating out rides like Diamondback, Manta, iSpeed, etc... -

I would love to see a Kamikaze type ride back there again. Zamperla makes a similar version of it. They could even market it as a brought back ride if they wanted to. I feel like a Slingshot would work back there as well with a dark ride in the arcade. A tall ride would bring the GP back there and they would pay for it. Look at how popular ripcord is. However the park has stated they aren't interested in up charge attractions, (hence the removal of The rock and the go carts). I wouldn't even mind the condor back there. I wonder if that area is even going to be opened opening day through Haunt? I guess we'll have to wait and see. The kids rides looked great though! -

I haven't heard anything in awhile on it. It's looking like 2017 though. Does anyone know what the new poles in Africa by Zulu are going to be used for? Is it a new version of hot summer lights again? -

The train has been on site for a couple weeks now. They finished the concrete foundation for the train track a couple weeks ago as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they are done with track by now. -

It also sounds like the Troika and Condor are for 2017. Hopefully we will still see something brand new such as the Dark Ride back in Bicentennial square as well next year. -

I went by the park yesterday to see if anything was going on. I couldn't see any work on Timberwolf from Parvin or WOF Ave, but I know they have started which is good. The most noticed difference is there is a crane in Planet Snoopy. I only saw the Kite Flyer out in the parking lot, so the other rides must be in the park. Last time I saw, the foundation wasn't even there. I'm sure they started with the Flying Scooters or the Flying Tigers first. Not too much else to report though. Crane at Wof -

Do you mind posting a few good ones? I remember seeing them before, but not in a while. I think I remember seeing parts of the Zinger too. -

I've never head that boomerang was used. I could've sworn it was new. I doubt it will be removed anytime soon, sadly Yeah I've never heard that either. I'll do some research. That would make it even more sad to hear that a relocated boomerang replaced the great Zinger. I don't think it was relocated though. I remember seeing some pictures a while back. Plus I'm pretty sure the older ones made a different sound when going up the on the right. -

I think the Troika will go over by Windseekerhawk or I guess it could easily fit around where the Rockin Reeler used to stand. I think it would have been cool if they got a Musik Express too, which would bring back Rockin Reeler in a way. I want the Condor to go in Europa. I looked at the area of the Condor at Six Flags Great America and it could fit in the Le Carousel area. It would be a rather tight fit but I wouldn't be too upset if they took out Le Carousel. If they wanted, they could throw Le Carousel into Planet Snoopy. I'm really interested to see what they'll do. -

Ridership is low because it is stuck back there by itself. Honestly if you aren't exiting Timber Wolf, you really have no reason to go by it. Now if the Triotech Dark Ride (rumored) gets put in that area, the ridership for the ride might go up significantly. Very True. Again (Hopefully) that area can be revitalized in one way or another. -

It could just sit for a while. Who knows. I'd like to see it up and running again some day. From what it sounds like, Thunderhawk is in pretty good shape too. Wayne was telling me how many problems they were having at Kings Dominion with their Gondola slightly warping. Thunderhawk just did go through a rebuild a couple of years ago too. Its hard to say if it's a good idea to remove it because of how much money they already invested in it, and what they will need to invest in it in the future if it says open. Ridership didn't seem very high for the most part too, which is a major factor in keeping the ride open. I can see why because the ride is probably intimidating to the General Public. -

That's what I was thinking also. It doesn't make sense that they would get a rid of Thunderhawk at this point. With 2 Huss Rides coming it would seem like the park would want to keep Thunderhawk. Unless they do a good job of restoring these rides, maintenance is going to be interesting. -

The petting zoo is where the cosmic coaster used to be. 3 out of the 5 or I guess 7 rides are going down there this year. My guess the animals might return, just somewhere else. I'm pretty sure it was just in Halloween time anyway. I was thinking the exact same thing on ride placement. The Troika would do very well there and the Condor would invite more people to Europa with a taller ride there. It would look cool on the skyline too. I hope the park officially announces it soon. -

I agree with the Dark Ride, but I remember Frank Wilburn specifically saying they want to see a family launch coaster, however things could have changed since then. I know this is a past topic on this forum, but I'd love to see a custom family/thrill coaster by premier sort of like Premier's version of Manta at Sea World San Diego or something like Verbolten. I guess with what Premier has already developed, I could see something similar to the Backlot Stunt Coaster design. -

Hi guys, I might be heading out to Magic Mountain sometime over Spring Break (March 11-20). I did some research on how bad the crowds are and I heard mixed thoughts. We would of course also go to Knotts and a couple smaller parks. How bad does it usually get? How many trains are usually operating? I want to make a trip out to Magic Mountain worth it. Thanks

The new PR manager seems very nice. I'm not sure how long ago she left, but the social media pages are definitely upgraded.
