After building the Intimidator 305, Cedar Fair is too intimidated to build any more Intamin coasters.

Elitch Gardens has an Itch on it's mind because part of it was erased after a wipe out on the half pipe.

Where did you hear that CNL is divesting their theme park properties? Is this for certain? If you got this information from a website, I would really appreciate it if you could post a link to the website or at the very least, provide the web address in a new post to this forum.

It is really nice to see Rolling Thunder is being worked on. Also, I had this idea recently. Imagine if this were to happen. What would you folks think if Darien Lake bought theme rights to some of the brands related to internet memes (Valve (Game Developer), who ever sings the nyan cat and trololol songs, Slenderman). Also, there are memes that don't have anything copyrighted involved, so it would be good to use those as well. After that, the following. Ride Of Steel re themed to "Scout - Ride Of Bonk" (Like Scout from Team Fortress 2). Blast Off re themed to "Ima Firin Mah Laz-Or". Re theme Viper to Slenderman : The Ride. Re theme Boomerang to "Youtube Poop Mix-Up". Re theme Mind Eraser to "Smosh Smash". Re theme Predator to "Bigfoot's mean ride thingy" (Like the bigfoot guy from the Butchy Kid Productions videos). Re theme Lasso to "Heyaya" (Like that He-Man meme). Re theme Thunder Rapids to something involving Garry's Mod or Team Fortress 2. Re theme Silver Bullet to something Half Life 2 related. I guess Twister could be a Team Fortress 2 themed ride, could fit. Re theme Corn Popper to "How To Basic's Egg-Tastic Slammer" (Like the youtube channel HowToBasic). Re theme the Pirate to "Limeware LOL Cruise". Add a B&M flying coaster or a Zamperla Volare and theme it to Nyan Cat. Add a drop tower (like Falcon's Fury) and theme it to the Troll Meme. What do the bunch of you on this forum think?

Sling shot and RedHawk are honestly two of my favorite rides at the park. Obviously there is nothing to gain from removing them, so I'll leave it at that. I can speculate that the go karts area could look vastly different when it comes time to evaluate the offerings in that area. Just a gut feeling I have. I guess I'm just way more optimistic than most in this thread. I'm super excited about the new rides this year, and the overall progress that is being made as we approach the season. Lots of great programming with free in-park concerts, dive-in movies, ect. The park will not become an enthusiasts dream overnight, and it shouldn't. But I believe that Darien is a fantastic place for families. A place for families that is not a coaster enthusiast's dream. Seem familiar (to an europeans)? Darien Lake is like the two larger Walibi parks. With that said, what is wrong with being a compromise between thrills and family entertainment? I have said this before, but it is worth mentioning again that many people are too harsh on Darien Lake. Not many fellow enthusiasts talk about Walibi being bad because they are not big parks. Why does Darien Lake receive the criticism about not being a huge park? I really do agree with Doug on Darien Lake being a place for everyone. As for the Go-Karts, I would love to see a clone of the Kennywood Sky Rocket in that spot.

I personally believe Seabreeze is not as "meh" as many other theme park fans may think. If given more attention from the community, it could possibly become a "Knoebel's of New York".

LOL! Such an accurate point. Now allow me to ask this - Do any of you folks think that Walibi Holland will ever get a strata coaster? Darien Lake is a medium sized park, and that is okay.

Other people are too harsh on Darien Lake. Do the rest of you folks realize that Darien Lake is a medium sized park? This is like telling a Walibi park that they suck because they don't compare to Six Flags Magic Mountain. It truly is unfair. Darien Lake could use a new roller coaster I will admit, but I am certain that they are not getting a giant B&M anytime soon. The Brain Drain slides and Rolling Thunder are great for what Darien Lake is.

The fact that Darien Lake jumped on any wagon is actually an improvement. Before this, the last time Darien Lake jumped on any wagon was with Ride Of Steel (Ride Of Steel started the wagon itslef). In between, a Space Shot from S&S was the only significant addition (It may be pre-owned, but I still love Blast Off ! ).

Really . In that case, did you also make the preview video? I thought that both the logo and video were done very nicely. The preview video especially reminded me of the ones made by Cedar Fair and Six Flags for their rides.

Well at the very least Darien Lake has 2 new rides that I'm sure will pack a good punch. That is something good, right?

A Megalite! Why did you suggest that if Darien Lake already has a full scale mega coaster? If anything, I personally feel that either a Gerstlaurer Eurofighter, Premier launcher (especially a clone of Kennywood's Skyrocket) or an S&S El Loco are coaster designs that would be good to have at Darien Lake. Why a Megalite?

Rolling Thunder seems like a good alternative to ranger, and Brain Drain should help with the main issue that Splashtown was experiencing last season ( I never went in the water park last season because of how so many people were in only 4 lines for the water park rides ). Brain Drain's capsule body slide system should pump people in and out quickly while being a good ride experience. Can't wait to try it!
