Why? They stopped after 2009 and Shapiro/Jim Reid stopped adding them since. I'm guessing they didn't generate the attendance boost they wanted (Not surprised). I'd go for an indoor/outdoor suspended ride like Arthur in Europa Park http://arthur.europapark.de/?lang=en. From the POV of it, I really like that!

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

They also over estimate Gatekeepers wait times -
Left of the entrance? They should replace entrance with a more "Cedar Point" style. No, I really don't think they need a wing rider over the top, but a nice plaza with new shrubs, electronic sign and a better flow. Also, do you think CGA will now be a year round park to better compete with the other parks? Also, they could open up the park longer on game days in case anyone wants to ride some rides for post game celebration.

Martin's Fantasy Island? I guess they could Martin's Fantasy Island is too small for the Hard Rock/Freestyle park rides! I was thinking of Darien Lake (go figure) as if I wasn't thinking if it in the first place. What about those plans for the Lake Monster for Darien Lake? Any update on that? I'd like to see that for 2015.

As far as US parks my guesses would be. Alabama Adventure (now under the direction of Mr. Koch and all they have is Rampage) or Kentucky Kingdom I don't think any major chain is going to purchase these rides (unless it was six flags which made a deal to open up some new parks overseas). I have a feeling that Dan Koch won't buy them. Dan Koch likes new rides. I have a feeling Kentucky Kingdom is out of room ( I know....)

I know I sound stupidbut Michigan's Adventure could REALLY use ALL of Hard Rock's rides. They have a good water park and a good woodie, but LZ would give them more visitors, and there dark ride to MIA would just result is a 50% attendance boost. The kid rides could be part of a brand new Planet Snoopy. LZ would be the best steel coaster there.

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

I see that working. A Disk'O and some Flying Scooters like my home park Cedar Point makes me happy any day. -

Update on SteelHawk? Also, what do you think Worlds of Fun is getting in 2015? -

I personally love intamin rides. Although it is sad that the last one built in north america was back in 2012 (Skyrush). Maverick at Cedar Point is my favorite Intamin even though I love B&M more for the smoothness and unique lap bars. -
It's a crapshoot to know for sure. Keep in mind that if you're thinking about Goliath, the Platinum pass is the only one that works there and it's only good for one ride for the day on Goliath. Otherwise, I guess I would be inclined to get to the park way early, get to Goliath as soon as the park opens and then wait the 1-2 hours to get a ride. If you're interested in shorter lines on the other coasters than pre-buy a Gold Flashpass online, go pick it up after you ride Goliath and have at it. Everything is going to be busy on a Saturday, especially if the weather is nice. Since I mentioned weather, predicting crowds is about as reliable as predicting weather. Thanks. I might change my plans from what I'm hearing.

After ride Flying Scooters at Cedar Point this year, now I have a high respect for them and enjoy them. Not everything has to be fast or tall in order to be fun. -

Mantis is has an EXTERMELY SLIGHT rattle after the MCBR, but it's a good ride. Mean Streak is running very smooth this season, but it's kinda is dozer. High hills and that's it. CP is my home park and enjoy it. You'll love it. Get a Fast Lane since it's a rare trip for you. I would do the park in this order: Maverick Millenmum Force Dragester Power Tower Gemini Magnum Mean Streak Raptor maXair Wicked Twister WindSeeker Iron Dragon Mantis Blue Streak Cedar Creek Mine Ride Skyhawk GateKeeper If you have time... ride Pipe Scream and Lake Erie Eagles. I know I sound stupid, but those are EXCLLENT rides for EVERYONE. After riding these, I have now a respect for Disk'Os and Flying Scooters. After that, repeat of rides (probably not since it's a Friday.) At the end of you day, watch Lumonsity. Excellent show and it has fireworks. -
Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread
coasterchitchat replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Though I'm a person that really likes B&M inverts, I guess I can see why you'd say that. Yeah, there are better ride types out there, but I think that an invert would just be perfect for VF because it would give it a modern steel coaster with inversions, and an invert would definitely be a GP pleaser. I like B&M hypers too, but since we already have a hypercoaster (Wild Thing), it's unfortunately not going to happen. A Maverick-type ride likely won't be VF's next coaster, but maybe it could happen later on down the line (maybe in 7-8 years or so), since VF is one of the three parks with significant growth potential. Cedar Fair doesn't buy roller coasters from Intamin. They buy coasters from B&M. -

That is why parks don't buy Intamin roller coasters. High maintenance! B&M is making money. Cedar Fair is the biggest customers and after i305 they quit with Intamin. -

Mean Streak. What to do with it?
coasterchitchat replied to CPSFMMCW's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Tony Clark, Director of Communcations at Cedar Point, tweeted out a picture on Sunday of some wood. Then yesterday, Brad Thomas, the general manager at Silver Dollar City was at Cedar Point. Could it mean that Cedar Point is adding a RMC woodie next year? The only reason in my mind the GM of a small park would come to CP is to persuade them to add a ride the big park doesn't have, in this case, a RMC woodie. I think it could be steepest drop, fastest, and tallest woodie in the world.
