  1. Is it really that serious? Not everyone is going to like what CP is doing and they don't have to. Everyone has an opinion and that's what makes discussions interesting. If everyone was in agreement with everything, it'd be really boring. Yes it can be. You must understand that "we" as in "us enthusiasts" make up about 1% of the general public of paying customers. We're also less likely to spend tons of money because we know the tricks and how to plan a day perfectly to enjoy the attractions. When you hear the horror stories of CoasterMania, or West Coast Bash, or any other events at how rude the people will act towards employees and park managers who are doing something they don't have to do, yes it's frustrating! With that being said, what I stated goes for any park, not just Cedar Point. We very rarely will get what we all will agree on as a "great coaster". Meaning most complaints I ever see about new rides are it's force-less, it's not fast enough, it's not jerky enough. Stuff that the GP typically doesn't like. I visited King's Dominion for the first time this past Saturday because I'd never ridden I-305. I thought it was great and enjoyed it. I still like Millennium Force more, this ride was supposed to rake in the crowds, on a busy Saturday afternoon I waited 10 minutes for front seat and no wait for any other seat. Being from so far away I asked what gives? Everyone said the same thing, it's a one and done because of the forces and Maverick style twisty's. We can all handle it and ride all day for the most part, but the majority of the 99% can't. So therefore, will I'm not a liberal and love everyone's opinion, generally these opinions aren't opinions, they are just general moaning and bellyaching. An opinion about a roller coaster isn't the typical "it's force-less" and so on and so forth, we all know what you're gonna say. The only different opinion that's been stated in this particular conversation is the fact CP has rides similar, but then someone else addressed this with Wicked Twister and Raptor. It's just a different trick even if it's one trick pony, and it's a new pony that CP will make millions on the 99%...not the 1%. I've ran into way too many entitled "enthusiasts" and I only hope for the opinions to remain opinions, not bitching. So if you choose to not go and spend money to ride it because you think it won't be that good, then that's fine! I just think it's then silly to call yourself an "enthusiast" as enthusiasts are supposed to enjoy the hobby of roller coasters and thrill rides. It likely will be another CP style record breaker and all that's here is mostly negativity. That's where my point came from. I think you took this out into orbit slightly. Enthusiasts bitching at event hardly seems the same as us discussing on a message board what we'd like to see at CP. You might love the idea of a dive machine, but not everyone will... it doesn't mean we are "bellyaching" we merely have an opnion that differs from yours. At the end of the day CP hasn't even announced anything, so technically how can anyone be "complaining" when everything is speculation at this point?
  2. I've had the blue train pass on the lift several times as well. It's like "Yesssss we're gonna sync.... wait slow down...nooooooooo" I don't understand why the green lift can't speed up once the blue catches up.
  3. Poor operations/low effort in making them smooth rides have nothing to do with safety codes. Isn't proper maintenance part of safety? (ie The Mindbender in Edmonton)
  4. The Goliath debacle makes me wonder which other rides perhaps might not be up to code. Batman has been sounding and riding like crap, Apocalypse is the roughest it's ever been, and Riddler rarely has more than 1 train running and that's IF it is even open. I know MM loves the retaining record for the most coasters but it doesn't seem like they can keep up with them.
  5. I just felt like KK was so much rougher than TTD. Though I got a lot more airtime at the top of KK than TTD. I didnt mind KK's restraints so much.

  7. ^Great trip report!! Sorry to hear about your ankle, I know first hand sprains are a b***h. Ice, ice, and more ice!!!
  8. Sucks that FD and Tiki Twirl were closed, two of my favorite rides there. I wonder if they're testing different shades for Vortex like they did with Mantis/Rougarou.
  9. El Toro is an incredible ride that every enthusiast must ride at some point. I actually missed several coaster credits when I visited Gradv last year because I wanted to ride El Toro over and over. That being said, I'm sure cost is the major reason why we don't see more. It's rumored El Toro ran Great Adventure more than $20 million, that's a lot of dough for a wooden coaster that doesnt have the marketing potential of a ride like say KK. Even if El Toro only really costed the $12 million that is listed, that is still like $4-5 million more than the avg cost of what GCI and GG were charging at the time. Also, I've read that Intamin wasn't the sole producer of the pre-fabs. There were other sub-contractors involved (including RMC and Gerstlauer) so maybe all the pieces had to be in place (no pun) in order for projects such as these to come together. And we well know RMC went on to do other things
  10. A Justice League would be a nice fit for MM, it would give some of the more mischievous kids something interactive to do with their energy. Rather than spitting on people from TC's exit bridge (yes that happened). Though I don't see it happening in 2016 for MM. I think SF is going to add two per year and rumor has it the next ones are for SFOG and SFGAM. Maybe a super loop for the Screampunk district?? There's definitely space for one and it would add appeal to the area, as crowds still seem to gravitate towards the front of park.
  11. A super loop would be good for MM, it'd finally be a flat ride addition. I wonder if it'd fit in the Spin Out's old spot.
  12. The rumor of a dueling Premier launcher from Screamscape seems like the best idea yet. I know people want a launched wing coaster, but Premier's launchers like Superman and Yolo are awesome rides with the former being pretty forceful and intense.
  13. A flyer would definitely be the most unique B&M CP could install. A dive machine is basically another floorless/wing coaster with a vertical drop.
  14. I agree 100% I have watched TC cycle thousands of times and have learned all the sounds and I know where the ride is on the track just by the sounds even with my back to it. Yesterday (6-20-2015) I spent a hour having a picnic in the parking lot picnic area and noticed that while train is on green track coming out of the high five turn the train most definitely goes "sluggish". Lets just say I like to watch and by no means am I in any position to say the speed is off or it seems sluggish but just call me Chauncey Gardner and something is off just a bit from opening days. I've ridden TC almost 30 times and yesterday seemed really off to me, glad to know it's not just "rider perception". I also noticed the trains were making a loud squealing sound when they were leaving the station prior to the bunny hops.
  15. July 2nd or 6th might end up being absolutely dead, I've noticed parks have pretty slow days in the days prior or following national holidays.
  16. I find it odd that they would send out surveys for input on an attraction for 2016, wouldn't their plans have been finalized already? Especially considering construction would start in about 6 months or so... Maybe this is for 2017 and beyond??
  17. I agree.... after installing MF, TTD, and Maverick, a dive coaster seems so blah. They used to be so cutting edge with their coaster additions now it seems they have no interest in pushing the limits. That being said, I'm sure the GP will eat Valravn 252 up, and I guess that's what CP is aiming to do. Not please us greedy enthusiasts lol
  18. My friend and I used the single rider line tonight on TC and ended up riding together four times in a row. We had an awesome grouper named Jasmine, shout out to her. On that note TC felt really sluggish tonight, are RMCs known for being temperamental? Cause I've noticed similar comments regarding WC and it not consistently hauling. I rode Batman in the 7th row on the left side and it was making this terrible racket I've never heard before, like a loud grinding noise. I realize the ride is 21 years old but it sounded like something was wrong. I'm calling OSHA...j/k
  19. Good to hear Thunderbird is paying off for them, $22 million aint cheap lol. Great pics by the way
  20. I wish USH would install a large coaster, it's like 7 mins from my house
  21. I feel exactly the same way, RMC is just not going to put out a crap ride. They have probably the best reputation in the coaster business right now and they aren't going to do anything to harm that. If they have accepted the Roar job, then I'm sure they have a plan to make it a killer coaster. I've also ridden TC and it's nothing short of amazing. An RMC makeover of Roar will truly give SFDK a signature ride and make it a must visit for both coaster enthusiasts and the general public.
